Chapter 365 If I Don't Cause Trouble, Wouldn't That Be Letting Them Down?
Betty and Amy finally called a truce. Amy shot Betty a sour look. "You think you're some high-society lady? You're just a loudmouth."
She never thought Betty would actually get physical, which was why she ended up in this mess.
Turning to Kevin, she spat, "You and your mom ganging up on a woman, how low can you get?"
Betty sneered, "You pushed us to it, you witch. At least we're not stabbing people in the back like you."
Amy snorted, "Don't move, I'm calling the cops."
Kevin raised an eyebrow. "If you don't mind the embarrassment, go ahead."
He waved his phone, adding, "I recorded everything. Sure, my mom was wrong to hit you, but a lawyer would just get you an apology and some cash. But if people find out you were stirring up trouble and hiring a wizard to mess with Elizabeth, what do you think will happen? Elizabeth's got tons of fans. Imagine the backlash."
This whole mess involved Betty and two high-society ladies brawling, which was anything but classy. Naturally, he didn't post the video online. He was just using it to scare Amy.
Amy hesitated, then lunged at Kevin to grab the phone. She'd been too impulsive and spilled everything. If that video got out, she'd be in deep trouble. And with Caleb's Facebook post already tarnishing her reputation, she didn't need more drama.
Kevin was ready. When Amy lunged, he quickly pocketed the phone.
He smirked, "I've already sent the video to my brothers, so even if you take my phone, it won't matter."
Amy glared at him, her face darkening. "You're the worst. Get out now!"
She was scared Kevin would really post the video, so she dropped the idea of calling the cops. But she wasn't going to forget how they bullied her today.
Betty had calmed down and shot Amy a cold look. She fixed her hair and clothes and left with Kevin. Amy's perfume trick and treating her like a fool wouldn't be forgotten.
Back in the hospital room, Paul noticed the scratches on Betty's face. Her hair was still a bit messy, and her collar was torn. He asked, surprised, "Did you get into a fight with Mrs. Baker?"
Betty, feeling wronged, said, "She treated me like that, so I had to fight back. Who knew she would be so rough, grabbing and scratching me all over."
She then glared at Kevin, adding, "And you, just standing there while I got hit, didn't even help."
Except for Loren, the other four sons were as good as useless, embarrassing and infuriating her.
Kevin awkwardly scratched his nose. "I was just stunned seeing you two go at it."
He was genuinely shocked at the time, and having never been involved in a women's fight, he forgot to help Betty.
Betty snorted, "You're all useless. I'm going to get the doctor to treat my wounds. Wouldn't want to risk any infections."
Right now, she saw Amy as nothing more than a loose cannon.
Paul nodded. "Go ahead."
After Betty left the room, Paul turned to Kevin for details. Kevin just played the recorded video for him. After watching, Paul was stunned. In his mind, Betty had always been gentle and well-mannered. Seeing her cursing and fighting was a real eye-opener.
He then told Kevin, "Don't let this video get out. It'd be too embarrassing if it went online."
If people in their circle saw it, they'd definitely laugh at both families.
He thought for a moment and added, "Send me a copy."
Kevin nodded. "Okay!" Then he sent the video to Paul.
Paul forwarded the video to Orlando and explained the situation. He had a good relationship with Orlando and business dealings as well. He didn't want their wives' fight to affect their companies' business. But he wasn't sure if Orlando, who cared deeply for Amy, would be angry and take it out on him. Of course, if Orlando wanted to be unreasonable for Amy's sake, he wasn't afraid.
Orlando was speechless when he saw the video and explanation posted by Paul. Amy truly had a knack for causing trouble. Watching the video made his heart sink; he was deeply disappointed by Betty's lackluster combat skills. Despite having the upper hand, she failed to incapacitate Amy. What a pity.
To Paul, Orlando didn't bother maintaining the facade of liking Amy. He said it was okay, that it was all Amy's fault this time, and told Paul not to worry. Seeing the Clark Family's situation, Orlando thought they might have to join forces to deal with the person behind all this. So, peace was the priority now.
Paul breathed a sigh of relief, and they chatted a bit more. Of course, they both agreed that the video should not be spread. They really felt embarrassed!
In the Courtyard of the Divination Association.
Zachary looked at Elizabeth and asked, "You saved the video to cause trouble?"
He just found out that Elizabeth was such a skilled hacker. It was quite interesting.
Elizabeth chuckled, "They handed the video to me. If I don't cause trouble, wouldn't I be letting them down?"
Zachary curiously inquired, "Are you going to post it online directly?"
He had a feeling that with Elizabeth's mischievous nature, she wouldn't be that straightforward.
