Chapter 328 Need to Clean Up

The busy streets of Aevum City were alive with energy.

Shops lined both sides, and there were plenty of stalls too.

Elizabeth and her crew headed to the rental office in Aevum City to secure a temporary stall. Kevin and Eugene hustled to borrow some tables and chairs, setting them up at the stall. Following Elizabeth's lead, they grabbed a piece of white cloth and made a sign together. The production team chipped in with paper and pens.

Elizabeth turned to Zachary and said, "Zachary, you're on sign duty." She was curious about his handwriting and how he'd handle the task.

Zachary felt a bit of a headache coming on; Elizabeth was always testing him. After a moment, he nodded. "Alright, I'll do it." He picked up the pen and wrote "Fortune Telling" on the white cloth.

Elizabeth watched him closely. She noticed his elegant writing posture, which seemed so effortless. She complimented, "Nice work!"

Zachary smiled back. "Thanks!"

Kevin and Eugene came over to check it out. They weren't calligraphy experts, but even they could tell Zachary's handwriting was top-notch. Zachary was becoming more and more of an enigma to them.

The live stream viewers were also showering Zachary's handwriting with praise.

On-site.

Elizabeth asked Kevin and Eugene to hang up the sign and then take a seat. She turned to Zachary, who had also sat down. "Zachary, do you want to start, or should I?"

Zachary grinned, "You go ahead. I don't do fortune-telling often. When you get tired, I'll take over. Let's see who vibes with me today."

Elizabeth wasn't surprised by his response; she had expected it. She smiled and nodded. "Alright, I'll start."

She grabbed a piece of white paper and wrote a note with the pen on the table, [Currently live streaming a variety show. If you don't mind being on camera and the potential privacy risks of fortune-telling, it's $100 per session!]

After writing, she asked Kevin to find a wooden board and stick the paper on it. Seeing Elizabeth's handwriting, Zachary looked at her with interest and said, "Elizabeth, your handwriting is impressive. Like a true calligrapher, it must've taken years to perfect."

Elizabeth chuckled, "Thanks."

She had done it on purpose, and he had noticed.

Kevin and Eugene missed the subtle exchange between the two. Once everything was set up, they asked Elizabeth, "Can we start now?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Yep, we're good to go. You two handle the money."

That was their main job for now.

Kevin and Eugene didn't mind at all and even smiled. "Got it, we'll handle the cash!"

Having something to do kept them from getting nervous. Otherwise, they worried she might get annoyed and kick them out. The mix of handsome guys and a beautiful woman naturally drew a crowd. Plus, many people recognized Elizabeth and her crew, so the stall quickly became a hotspot.

At first, no one stepped up for a fortune-telling session; they were still hanging back, watching. Kevin seized the moment and went to the production team to grab a tea set. He made a special cup of tea for Elizabeth and handed one to Zachary too. Not wanting to be left out, Eugene went and bought some famous local desserts, placing them in front of Elizabeth.

Kevin, not to be outdone, noticed the sun was getting hot. He found a fan and stood behind Elizabeth, fanning her to help her cool down. His over-the-top behavior made Richard and others watching the live stream cringe.

Kevin was turning into a real suck-up.

Betty, standing nearby with her assistant, felt a pang of discomfort seeing Kevin's doting service to Elizabeth.

Kevin, that ungrateful son, had never acted like this before. He never served her, never made her tea or fanned her; he hadn't even poured her a glass of water.

She felt conflicted and even more resentful toward Elizabeth, her own daughter. She cursed Kevin and Eugene for being so cheap. The more Elizabeth ignored them, the more they clung to her. They didn't look like heirs of a wealthy family at all; it was just embarrassing.

She recorded a video with her phone and sent it to Paul. She also messaged: [Look at Kevin, he's like a servant now; it's embarrassing.]

Paul was at the hospital, watching the live stream with Enrique. Seeing Betty's message, he was speechless. He replied: [He's just helping Elizabeth, how does that make him a servant? I don't get it. Besides, their group relies on Elizabeth to make money, so what he's doing isn't wrong!] In his view, if you're not the main earner, you do what you can to help.

Betty's face darkened after seeing the message.

Betty: [Are you blind or something? He's serving Elizabeth. If that's not being a servant, what is?]

Paul was even more speechless.

Paul: [You've been on edge with Elizabeth lately, so it seems like you're nitpicking everything they do. Can you try to be more reasonable? You're their mother; can't you show a bit more understanding?]

Betty: [I didn't raise my sons to be servants.] She was furious.

Paul: [Why are you so nitpicky? You're becoming more and more unreasonable lately.]

He figured he needed to call Orlando for a serious talk. Betty was becoming more like Amy, increasingly unreasonable, and he needed to put a stop to it. Otherwise, it might lead to family discord.

Betty was fuming. What did he mean by saying she was becoming more unreasonable? She felt like Paul and her sons had all betrayed her. As Amy said, these men and Elizabeth couldn't be trusted and needed to be dealt with.

In Clifftonshireburg.

Amy also saw the video sent by a friend. In the video, Eugene was acting like a servant, trying to please Elizabeth. The kicker was that Elizabeth was very cold and indifferent to him.

This made her furious; it was just embarrassing. She, as his mother, had never been served like this by him. Why should Elizabeth?

It made her dislike Elizabeth even more. Not only did she harm Brenda, but she also had Eugene wrapped around her finger. With a quick shift in thought, she grabbed her phone and called her nephew, Caleb King. She intended to stir up some trouble for Elizabeth.

Live-streaming fortune-telling, was it? To her, Elizabeth was nothing but a fraud, and she was determined to have someone expose her, humiliating her during the live broadcast. Let’s see how smug she can be after that.
