Chapter 427 Fight Back Using the Same Method
Elizabeth wasn't sticking up for the Clark brothers. She was just using them as an excuse to catch Aaron.
But the Clark brothers didn't get it. They were touched, thinking Elizabeth was the only one who had their back. If it were Brenda, she'd probably bolt at the sight of Aaron, not giving a damn about them or their justice.
Yet, Elizabeth still had their backs.
Seeing the Clark brothers' grateful looks, Elizabeth rolled her eyes. "Don't get it twisted, I'm not defending you."
Their gratitude didn't waver. They nodded knowingly, "Yeah, we know."
Elizabeth went quiet, ignoring them, and turned to Aaron. "What you did was illegal, so you gotta face the consequences," she said coldly.
Aaron frowned, "I'm from Eldoria."
Elizabeth shot back, "On our turf, you play by our rules."
Feeling a bit cornered, Aaron said stiffly, "But you can't punish me. How about I go to the Aevum City's Divination Association myself?"
Ethan was from the Divination Association, and once Aaron got there, Ethan would have to protect him.
Aaron thought, 'I'm not letting today's manipulation slide.'
Elizabeth looked at Aaron like he was an idiot. "If you wanna get yourself killed, go ahead. Once he kills you, he can pin it on me. I don't care, and I'm not scared of your mentor. But you'll be the one sending yourself to your death, making your mentor seek revenge on the wrong person. I've got people backing me too; your mentor might not even make it back."
Aaron went silent. He knew Elizabeth was trying to scare him, but her words made him really afraid to go to the Divination Association. If Ethan wanted to frame Elizabeth and kill him, then he went to his mentor and said something. Wouldn't he die unjustly?
His face turned grim, "Not everyone can arrest people here. Let me go, and I'll owe you one. Isn't Mrs. Baker always targeting you? I'll help you deal with her."
Now Aaron felt he couldn't figure Elizabeth out at all; her strength was definitely above his. 'Smart and brave people know when to back off,' he thought.
Elizabeth sneered, "You were dumb enough to get used and manipulated before. Now, you can't even see your situation clearly. Do I need your help to deal with Mrs. Baker?" She changed her tone, "Besides, I'm a law-abiding citizen. While she uses dirty tricks against me, I follow the law and don't harm people randomly."
She pulled out her phone, still recording, and then her credentials from her bag. "I'm from the Special Department. I just saw you break the law and attempt murder, so I'm officially arresting you."
Before Aaron showed up, Elizabeth had already planned how to handle him. Killing him was a last resort. She wouldn't let Aaron die, but she wouldn't let him off easy either.
Instead, he'd end up in the Special Department's prison. Once caught, he'd only blame Ethan for setting him up. Her goal was to give Ethan a taste of his own medicine.
Ethan wanted to use Aaron to take her out, hoping Aaron's mentor would come after her. So, she decided to turn their own tactics against them.
She had no beef with Aaron's mentor and saw no reason to confront him. After all, it was Aaron who made the first move against her, putting him in the wrong.
So, Elizabeth decided to let Aaron and Ethan tear each other apart.
Aaron's face twisted. He gritted his teeth, "You're really from the Special Department? You're not gonna let me go?"
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow, "What do you think? Planning to resist arrest? Then I'll have to get rough."
Before Aaron could react, strands of dark energy from her dagger wrapped around him. She tossed a burning spell scroll at him and commanded, "Explode!" Moments later, explosions erupted from various joints in Aaron's body, and he cried out in pain, "No!"
When did he say he wanted to resist arrest? She must be looking for an excuse to retaliate. But at this moment, Aaron didn't dare say anything more, afraid she'd kill him in a fit of rage.
His legs buckled, and he knelt on the ground, shouting, "I'll go with you to the special department, just stop!"
Elizabeth finally stopped and pouted, "If you had been obedient earlier, you wouldn't have wasted my dark energy and spell scroll."
Without anyone noticing, she had already cursed him to ensure he couldn't improve his strength and would eventually become a cripple.
But now, no one could see it. Aaron couldn't sense or discover it either. By then, she'd let Ethan take the blame.
Aaron fell silent, not believing it. He was so angry he wanted to vomit blood. Elizabeth didn't even give him a chance to speak and acted directly. He had no way to complain!
The Clark brothers stayed quiet. They sighed inwardly, 'Elizabeth is getting fiercer and fiercer.'
Seeing Aaron's face twisted in pain and having to submit, they couldn't help but feel a bit chilly on their backs. But they were even more moved; Elizabeth was so good that she was deliberately finding an excuse to avenge them.
If Elizabeth knew what they were thinking, she would definitely make them wake up.
Elizabeth threw the rope she used to climb down the mountain to the Clark brothers. She instructed, "You guys tie him up, I'll contact the Special Department to take him back to Clifftonshireburg."
She disliked Aaron and didn't want to touch him.
With such an opportunity, the Clark brothers wouldn't let it go. They picked up the rope and tied Aaron up, even secretly kicking him a few times.
Elizabeth saw it but was too lazy to care. She took out her phone and called Alaric, asking him to send someone up the mountain to take Aaron.
Aaron was very afraid of death and sensible. He knew he couldn't beat Elizabeth, so he could only sit on the ground in pain and remain silent. When he reached the Special Department, he had to find a way to contact his mentor. He needed to ask his mentor to help him escape.
Although Aaron had a lot of resentment toward Elizabeth, he hated Ethan, who plotted against him, even more. Ethan plotted against him and involved his mentor. He couldn't deal with Ethan, but he had to tell his mentor. Let his mentor settle the score with Ethan.
