Chapter 236 You Won't Slip Through My Fingers
The three of them immediately thought of Brenda.
Enrique glanced at the table and realized he had indeed stuffed his face. But he still didn't feel full.
Enrique muttered, "Man, I don't know what's up with me today. Just felt super hungry and wanted to chow down."
Arnold chimed in, "Dude, stop eating. If you keep going, your stomach's gonna explode."
Even though Enrique still had the munchies, he wasn't as ravenous as before. He was also worried about overdoing it and wrecking his stomach, so he reluctantly put down the food.
He yawned and mumbled, "Alright, I'm beat. I'm heading upstairs to crash."
Richard noticed Enrique looked totally wiped out. He couldn't help but ask, "Did Brenda swing by last night?"
Enrique was puzzled. "Yeah, why?" he said.
Richard pressed further, "Did she ask you for luck, and did you give it to her?"
Enrique was stunned. "How'd you know?" he asked.
Richard looked at Enrique with sympathy and sighed deeply, "Enrique, you're on your own now. Good luck to you."
Arnold and Kevin felt a sense of inevitability about Enrique giving Brenda the Generational Blessings.
They both said in unison, "Enrique, Good luck to you."
They didn't know what else to say. No wonder Enrique's behavior was so whack earlier, eating like a horse without feeling full. His overall vibe was also pretty off.
Turns out he had given the Generational Blessings to Brenda.
But Arnold and Kevin were also shocked at how quickly he reacted. At the same time, they deeply realized how creepy Brenda was.
They were just waiting to see what would happen to Enrique in seven days.
Being looked at with sympathetic eyes by his bros and hearing their weird words, Enrique felt a sense of fear and unease. He glared at the three of them and said, "Are you guys nuts? I'm fine."
Then he thought of something and started to lecture the three of them seriously. "And what's with you guys lately? Why are you so against Brenda? Did Elizabeth say something to you? Although we are partly responsible for Elizabeth leaving, you can't take it out on Brenda, you guys..."
He meant to tell them not to blame Brenda and to keep being cool with her.
Richard didn't want to waste words with him. So he immediately interrupted, "Alright, I'm crazy, okay? I'm worried I will affect you and Brenda, so I'm moving out tonight." He didn't dare stay at home anymore, and Enrique had just given him an excuse.
Arnold and Kevin fell silent; Richard was indeed still so slick. He had found an excuse so quickly. They didn't dare stay at home either.
Although Enrique had given Brenda the Generational Blessings, who knew if she would be satisfied and not come after them next?
Arnold nodded. "Me too. I'm moving out."
Kevin chimed in, "Yeah, me too. I'm moving out too."
Hearing the three of them say this, Enrique was speechless. "Are you serious?" he asked in disbelief.
Richard replied, "As serious as it gets. Enrique, this house is all on you now."
After saying that, Richard quickly left. He went to his room to pack up and hurriedly left; he didn't want to stay at home any longer.
Seeing Richard bolt so fast, Arnold and Kevin also got anxious.
Kevin said, "Enrique, Brenda and this house are all on you now." After saying that, he also left.
Arnold patted Enrique on the shoulder and hurriedly said, "It's tough to handle this alone, hang in there! If anything happens, give us a call."
After saying that, without waiting for Enrique to respond, he also bailed.
Seeing the three of them vanish one after another, Enrique was speechless. These three must have really lost their marbles.
However, Enrique was too wiped out to think about anything else. So he went back to his room and crashed.
Richard and Kevin packed up their stuff and bolted from the house as fast as they could.
Arnold was delayed because he received a call from his agent. As a result, when he finally finished packing and was dragging his suitcase out the door, he bumped into Brenda in the hallway. She was humming a tune and in a fantastic mood.
Brenda's eyes lit up as soon as she saw Arnold alone. She sweetly called out, "Arnold, why are you dragging a suitcase?"
In the past, when Brenda smiled like that, Arnold would find it very sweet and cute. Now, with the dim lighting in the hallway, it looked creepy no matter how he saw it.
It was as if he was a delectable treat for Brenda. He was nervous inside but kept a normal face. He said with a smile, "My agent called and asked me to record a song."
Brenda said, "But you don't need to move out for that, right?"
Arnold smiled. "I need to go out for a few days to find some inspiration."
Brenda wheeled herself in front of him. She looked up at him with a dependent gaze. She began softly, "Arnold, I've been so unlucky lately, you..."
She was no longer satisfied with Enrique's one-third of the Generational Blessings. To make a comeback in the next reality show, she needed more good luck. Since she ran into Arnold alone, she wasn't going to hold back.
Before Brenda could finish her words, Arnold felt a sense of inevitability. He immediately interrupted her and made up an excuse, "Brenda, I'm sorry, I need to rush to the airport. It's already late, and if I delay any longer, I'll miss my flight. I'll talk to you properly when I get back."
Afraid she would suddenly grab his hand or find an excuse to touch him, he quickly dragged his suitcase and bolted.
It wasn't until Arnold drove out of the villa area that he breathed a sigh of relief. He was almost scared to death just now.
Driving into the city, his tense nerves finally relaxed. He found a place to park, stopped the car, and took out his phone.
Arnold created a group chat and added Richard and Kevin. Then he sent a voice message to the group, recounting what had just happened.
Richard and Kevin were both relieved that they had left quickly. Arnold reacted quickly this time, too, running before Brenda could do anything. Otherwise, he might have had to waste a SpellScroll.
The three brothers felt like they had narrowly escaped disaster. At the same time, they couldn't help but feel a bit more sympathy for Enrique.
On the other side, Brenda was stunned when Arnold ran away so quickly. What was going on? Why did Richard and Arnold react so weirdly when they saw her?
Her face darkened. She squinted her eyes and thought, 'You guys won't slip through my fingers.'
In the following days, Richard and the other two didn't return home.
Loren went on a business trip with Paul, and Betty went back to her parents' house.
The only ones left at home were Enrique, who slept most of the day, and Brenda, whose appearance was gradually recovering but was being driven crazy by etiquette lessons every day.
One day, just as Elizabeth was about to go to the film crew, two unexpected guests arrived at the house.
