Chapter 129 Elizabeth Must Have Done It on Purpose
Richard and Hubert's choice really caught Elizabeth off guard.
She never tried to kill her own brother Richard.
Whatever he threw at her, she'd throw right back.
If he wanted her cursed online, she'd make sure they got the same treatment.
The evil aura she sent their way before were just minor annoyances.
As Dominic said, it wouldn't physically harm them.
Those aura had faded, only making their pain worse, like phantom pain, but did not cause any physical harm.
That's why divination tools could help ease it.
The more they hurt, the clearer their minds got.
Richard was never clear-headed before, but now he seemed more normal.
Still, the past couldn't be undone.
Even if Richard started acting like a caring brother, she wouldn't forgive him.
As long as they didn't mess with her, she wouldn't mess with them.
Paul was a good chairman but a lousy dad.
He ignored her and treated his sons the same way.
He was only tougher on Loren since he was the heir.
The other kids were left to do their own thing.
As long as they didn't get into too much trouble, he didn't care if they just played around.
The Clark family tradition was to focus on the heir and let the others be.
They called it open-mindedness.
Elizabeth figured Paul didn't want the other siblings to be too good and fight over the inheritance, which could hurt the family's future.
They wanted the heir to shine.
If the others had skills, they'd be valued but not outshine the heir.
If they had no business sense, they'd just hold shares and get dividends, doing whatever they wanted.
So, apart from Loren being the president, the other brothers, Brenda, and Elizabeth all went into entertainment. Paul didn't stop them; he even supported them.
Paul was always focused on the Group and work.
Brenda hid her true self well, so Paul didn't realize she was influencing his sons from a young age.
By the time he figured it out, it was too late.
Paul wasn't completely indifferent to his daughter, but he didn't care much either.
In the Clark family, Paul was relatively normal.
He didn't side with Brenda against Elizabeth like the others did.
In her past life, when she and Brenda were kidnapped, Paul was on a business trip and wasn't there.
So she didn't know what he'd have done.
But it didn't matter now.
His past neglect left her with no expectations or feelings for him.
Now that he wanted to make amends, it was too late.
No matter what happened to the Clark family, she wouldn't go back.
She wouldn't be part of that family again.
Her household registration would only have her name, and that was final.
If people called her heartless, so be it; she didn't care.
Rebecca turned and asked, "Elizabeth, do you want to ease Richard and Hubert's pain?"
Elizabeth nodded, "Yeah, I just wanted to teach them a lesson. These two masters and Brenda insisted on stepping up, so let them keep at it."
With Paul's sharp mind, he should see through some of this.
After saying that, she waved her hand in the air and pointed at Richard and Hubert on the surveillance video. "Release!"
Meanwhile, Hubert didn't hesitate after hearing Alfonso's words. He handed over the pendant. "Thanks, Mr. Romero!"
A bit of pain for ten days or so was nothing he couldn't handle. But Elizabeth was ruthless; he'd better steer clear of her.
Alfonso was surprised by Hubert's tolerance. He took the pendant with a smile but felt uneasy inside.
Brenda, on the other hand, didn't want to give back the bracelet. "I'm in too much pain, Mr. Romero. Can I keep it a few more days? I'll return it once I'm better."
She knew Alfonso wanted the divination artifact back to force Richard and Hubert to make a choice. She said this to provoke her brothers into helping her, hoping Richard would use his blood to resolve it.
Alfonso understood and smiled apologetically, shaking his head. "We have a rule: this divination artifact can't be lent or sold. I lent it to you because I was coming back soon, and you didn't take it out, so it wasn't an exception."
Paul frowned at Brenda's behavior. Something seemed off between Brenda and the two masters. It felt like they were trying to force Richard to use his blood to resolve it.
He looked at Brenda displeased. "Brenda, don't force others."
Brenda was not only petty but also lacked backbone. If someone didn't lend it, she insisted on clinging to it, embarrassing herself. Paul even questioned if she was really in pain.
Brenda felt resentful towards Paul for meddling but obediently nodded. "Yes!" Then she handed the bracelet to Alfonso.
After Alfonso took it, Brenda suddenly seemed to be in severe pain, squatting on the ground and trembling.
Enrique saw this and said, "Dad, now you're the one forcing others! You won't let them resolve it, and without the bracelet, look how much pain Richard and Brenda are in."
Paul glared at Enrique. "Don't speak."
Enrique stubbornly said, "I won't."
At that moment, Richard and Hubert realized the pain in their injured areas was gradually disappearing. They were both surprised and looked at each other. "Are you still in pain?"
They both shook their heads. "Suddenly, it doesn't hurt anymore."
Hubert said meaningfully, "Then we don't need this divination artifact anymore." He guessed this must be Elizabeth's doing.
Richard nodded and then said to Paul, "Dad, we're not in pain anymore. It should be Elizabeth who resolved it."
Judging by the looks of the two masters, they didn't seem to have helped them resolve it. So it could only be Elizabeth.
Brenda suddenly looked up. "Richard, you're lying to avoid resolving it." She was still in severe pain.
Richard raised an eyebrow. "I wouldn't lie about this; I'm really not in pain anymore." He even jumped a few times to prove it.
Hubert added, "I'm not in pain either."
Angela, who had been silent, covered her face and said, "But I'm still in a lot of pain."
Richard shrugged. "Then I don't know why."
Hubert added, "Could it be that because you used blood to resolve it, it ended up being unresolvable?" He thought to himself, 'Elizabeth must have done it on purpose.'
He was puzzled, though. Did Elizabeth know what was happening here? Otherwise, how could she have deliberately resolved only their problem and left Brenda and Angela's?
Richard also guessed that Elizabeth did it on purpose. He felt a bit scared inside. Elizabeth was so powerful that she could even divine what was happening here? He would never provoke her again.
