Chapter 406 They Probably Hated Her to Death

Elizabeth noticed Cassius was stressed out and gave him a comforting smile. "This Cauldron's been in your family for generations, thanks to your family's blessings. I wouldn't dream of taking something so important. It should stay with you and be passed down."

The Blackwood Family had been doing good deeds for ages, helping and saving tons of people. Their goal was to protect their family, but the outcome was always positive. So, Elizabeth felt the Heritage Cauldron should stay with Cassius and be passed down.

Cassius let out a sigh of relief. He was actually a bit surprised that Elizabeth didn't want the Heritage Cauldron as a reward. He said, "Ms. Clark, you're really generous. Your reputation is well-deserved."

According to Elizabeth, the Heritage Cauldron was super valuable and a magical artifact. Not many divination masters could resist such a temptation.

Elizabeth smiled, "My mentor taught me to only take what's rightfully mine and not to covet what belongs to others. Contentment brings happiness." She really believed in that.

Cassius smiled, "Your mentor must be a person of high moral character."

To teach a student like this and to have taught Elizabeth so well, her mentor must be a person of good character.

Elizabeth nodded, "Indeed."

Cassius then offered, "Ms. Clark, why don't you take a look around my collection room and see if there's anything you like? If you find something, I'll give it to you as a reward."

As long as it wasn't the Heritage Cauldron, he was willing to part with any other antique. He had heard that many divination masters were interested in and knowledgeable about antiques, so he made the offer.

Elizabeth nodded, "Alright."

She walked around the collection room and finally her gaze fell on an old book that was casually placed.

To her surprise, the Gemstone Halo she wore began to warm up when she looked at it.

She picked it up and started flipping through the pages. The more she looked, the more the Gemstone Halo reacted.

Elizabeth carefully examined the book but didn't notice anything unusual at first. Then she quickly flipped through it and discovered a hidden secret.

As she rapidly turned the pages, the tilted pages seemed to form a picture. It looked remarkably similar to the map in the Gemstone Halo, suggesting it was a crucial missing piece.

No wonder Wayne's ancestors couldn't unlock the secret of the Gemstone Halo or find the location on the map. It turned out the map was incomplete, and another part was hidden here.

Elizabeth turned to Cassius. "Mr. Blackwood, I'd like this old book as my reward. Is that alright?"

Cassius hadn't expected Elizabeth to want this old book. The book was only worth a few thousand dollars, and he had collected it for fun.

Moreover, when the fortune teller came to the collection room, besides the Heritage Cauldron, he had looked at other items too. Not only did he not take a liking to this old book, but he also didn't even pick it up to look at it.

He reminded her, "Ms. Clark, this old book isn't worth much."

Elizabeth smiled, "I like it, and that's enough. My mentor likes to collect old books, so when I see one I like, I also want to collect it. This one is just perfect."

Cassius didn't argue further. "If you're certain, then it's yours. Also, please find some time to accompany me to the cemetery. I trust you can resolve our issue there."

He trusted Elizabeth more than the fortune teller. And he didn't care much about the old book. So whether the cemetery issue could be resolved or not, he was prepared to give it to Elizabeth. It was his way of thanking her for revealing the secret of the Heritage Cauldron that had been passed down through the family.

Elizabeth said, "I'm free for the next two days, so either tomorrow or the day after works for me. Mr. Blackwood, it's up to you."

Cassius immediately replied, "Then let's head out early tomorrow morning. It's a good four-hour drive to my family's cemetery." He was genuinely anxious because of the recent incidents with his family.

Elizabeth nodded, "Alright!"

The next morning, Elizabeth hopped into Cassius's car, and he had an assistant driving. She brought Quentin along, and they all headed to Cassius's family cemetery.

Once they arrived, they grabbed some lunch before heading up the mountain with their tools.

The entire mountain was owned by the Blackwood Family, so there were quite a few graves, all belonging to Blackwood Family ancestors.

Elizabeth sensed something was off with one of the graves. She pointed, "That one has a problem. It should be your grandfather's grave, which is why it directly affects your family. Let's go check it out."

Cassius was taken aback, "That is indeed my grandfather's grave." He was even more impressed by Elizabeth's abilities.

He hadn't mentioned it, and the tombstone was facing away from them, so it was impossible to see the name or any other details. Feeling a bit excited, Cassius thought that with Elizabeth's skills, there was hope for solving the problem.

As they walked over, Elizabeth took out a crystal ball. The other three saw the crystal ball spinning erratically, as if it were broken. This confirmed that there was indeed a problem.

Elizabeth said, "The magnetic field around this grave is completely disrupted, which explains why your family's situation is so severe. If we delay any longer, one of your parents will die."

Cassius's face went pale. "Ms. Clark, what should we do?"

Elizabeth used the crystal ball to pinpoint the most chaotic spot. She instructed, "Dig around three feet down here." Without waiting, Cassius's assistant began digging.

Moments later, the assistant exclaimed, "Ah, there's something black here."

Elizabeth put on gloves and retrieved the object. Everyone saw that it was a small, pitch-black wooden coffin. The entire coffin was nailed shut with seven equally black nails.

Elizabeth took a Spellscroll from her bag, placed it on the coffin, and recited an incantation.

Suddenly, the Spellscroll ignited, and the nails on the coffin miraculously fell off on their own.

She then opened the small coffin. The other three saw a wooden doll inside, with a slightly blackened Spellscroll attached to it.

Cassius's face changed again because the Spellscroll had his grandfather's name and birth date written on it. He immediately realized. "This... someone's targeting my family?"

Elizabeth had already deduced it. She nodded. "Yes, this is a deliberate attempt to harm your family, focusing on something significant that your family possesses."

She examined the doll and the Spellscroll, recognizing the familiar aura from a previous encounter. It was the same as the one she felt battling spells in the hospital. The involvement of Ethan was evident.

Unexpectedly, while helping a celebrity secure a role, she had coincidentally thwarted Ethan's plot again. She had also inadvertently obtained another part of the map. Should she thank Ethan? But now, they probably hated her to death.

Sure enough, in a villa in Clifftonshireburg, a middle-aged man named Dashiell Lockhart, who was meditating, suddenly opened his eyes.

He clutched his chest, his face pale from the backlash, with a hint of dark blue between his brows.

His expression changed dramatically as someone had broken his spell.

This was a crucial setup that Ethan had instructed him to create, and it had been broken just like that.

Dashiell was so angry he felt like coughing up blood. He was also terrified of the consequences once Ethan found out. So Dashiell couldn't help but curse the person who broke the spell in his mind.
