Chapter 89 The Difficulty Is Not Ordinary
Herman contacted the three artists and called Elizabeth before heading to the coffee shop.
Elizabeth and Rebecca had just found an office space.
To show their commitment to the three artists, they rushed over after signing the lease.
In the coffee shop's private room, Herman laid out all the pros and cons and explained everything to the three artists.
He mentioned he had led his team to switch companies, showing his confidence in his new boss.
At first, the three artists were skeptical about Herman's offer. They wondered why any good entertainment company would want them and if they were being poached to squeeze out their last bit of value.
But when they heard Herman had brought his team over, they reconsidered.
A cool-looking guy asked, "Herman, you've said a lot, but which company are we switching to?"
Just as Herman was about to answer, his phone rang. He answered and told the other side the table number.
Then he said, "It's not an entertainment company, but a new studio. The boss is here; you'll see."
The three artists were curious. Did the boss come to meet them in person?
A moment later, there was a knock on the door. Herman opened it, smiling. "Ms. Clark, Ms. Baker, come in!"
Elizabeth and Rebecca smiled and greeted him, "Mr. Simmons!"
As they entered, the three artists were stunned. They were surprised to see Elizabeth.
They weren't familiar with her, but she had recently become popular with several impressive comebacks.
Besides her good performance on variety shows, everyone was watching the news about her and the Clark family brothers, Eugene, and Brenda.
They admired Elizabeth. They knew Richard's reputation for suppressing artists, but Elizabeth not only withstood it but also fought back and exposed them.
They had secretly cheered for her. They hadn't expected Elizabeth to be the one opening a studio and poaching them.
After Elizabeth and Rebecca sat down, Herman introduced everyone.
He pointed to the cool-looking guy. "This is Elbert Perry."
Then he introduced the young man next to him. "This is Gilbert Alexander."
Finally, he introduced the beautiful but slightly tired woman. "This is Emily Thompson."
Then he introduced Elizabeth. "This is Elizabeth, the studio owner. And this is her partner Rebecca."
"And this is her partner Rebecca Baker." He added, "She is also from the Baker company."
The three artists collected themselves and greeted Elizabeth and Rebecca, "Ms. Clark, Ms. Baker, hello!"
Elizabeth and Rebecca smiled warmly. "Hello!"
Elizabeth continued, "Herman has already talked to you, so I won't waste time."
She took out three contracts from her bag and handed them out.
"These are the terms our studio is offering. There's also a training plan and direction for each of you in the contract; take a look."
Boasting about the studio's future was empty talk. What mattered were the terms and prospects.
The three hadn't expected Elizabeth to be so straightforward and liked her style.
Anyone could make promises; they had been deceived by their agent with such promises.
But the contract terms were solid.
Curious, they opened the contracts to read.
After reading, they were all surprised.
Elizabeth's terms far exceeded their expectations.
The profit-sharing ratio was on par with the best artist contracts at Clark Entertainment Company, and the freedom was even higher.
They were tempted.
But a high profit-sharing ratio meant nothing without work.
So they checked the attached plans.
Their expressions turned to surprise.
The plans were more impressive than the contract terms.
A surge of acknowledgment and admiration swept through the group, with Emily particularly moved, her eyes welling with tears. Elizabeth's meticulous work plans, tailored to each individual's traits, skills, and preferences, struck a chord with them all.
Breaking the momentary silence, Emily expressed her heartfelt gratitude, "I'm thrilled with the roadmap you've crafted for me. It’s exactly what I've been yearning for since I stepped into this industry."
Acting had always been Emily's true passion, the driving force behind her enrollment in the film academy and subsequent pursuit of a career in entertainment. Elizabeth's blueprint honed in on enhancing Emily's acting prowess rather than exploiting her existing fame for mere buzz.
In the past, other organizations had attempted to poach Emily, aiming to leverage her residual popularity for their gain. It left her seething with frustration, yet feeling powerless to push back against their tactics.
Elizabeth nodded. "I've seen your acting; I know you genuinely love performing. Your skills are excellent. It's best for you to pursue a serious acting career."
Emily smiled. "Thank you for your affirmation."
Since being neglected and pulled down from a high position, she hadn't received such kindness in the industry for a long time.
"But you should know my current situation. I've been falsely accused and labeled a homewrecker, heavily criticized. No director dares to cast me in positive roles; I only get villain roles. And those particularly hated ones."
Her agent had accepted such roles for her.
Besides contract restrictions, she had accepted them too because she loved acting.
She wanted to portray different roles, even villainous ones.
But taking on several villain roles made the audience dislike her more, worsening her reputation.
"If you sign me, you might get dragged down and criticized too."
Elizabeth was not only the studio owner but also an artist.
Those who framed her were always watching, not giving her a chance to make a comeback.
"The Clark family brothers might use me to harm you," Emily said.
She wanted to continue acting but didn't want to harm others.
Hearing this, Elizabeth felt more reassured about Emily.
When poaching people, she valued character as much as potential.
She smiled. "I've already thought about all of this. If I'm not worried, why should you be?"
She confidently said, "To bring you back up, our studio will clear all the stains on your reputation. We'll step on those who framed you to clear your name. Whatever they did to you, we'll return it in kind."
She had already planned how to help Emily clear her name and slap Richard in the face.
Elizabeth's words surprised not only Emily but also the other two.
They were even more curious about how she planned to clear Emily's name.
Even the top agents at Clark Entertainment Company might not be able to do it.
After all, it had been over a year, and they had missed the best time to clear her name. At that time, Emily had been proven guilty by the bad couple's fabricated evidence.
Clearing her name and making a comeback would be extremely difficult!
