Chapter 179 Now That They Had Fallen into the Trap

Eugene had previously seen Elizabeth suddenly slip during the competition, almost falling and getting injured, which made him extremely nervous.

He even felt something was off.

After all, he knew Elizabeth and Rebecca's motorcycle skills. They wouldn't make such a basic mistake like slipping.

Then Elizabeth suddenly used the slip to drift and turn, and she took first place. He thought she did it on purpose.

Unexpectedly, it was Brenda who conspired with others to harm her.

If it weren't for Elizabeth's strong divination abilities, wouldn't she be the one in the hospital instead?

According to Elizabeth, if she hadn't protected herself from the curse, the injuries would have been severe.

Brenda wanted Elizabeth dead.

Such actions would not be tolerated by Eugene. He was very angry at this moment.

Brenda shook her head with a deliberately bewildered look. Desperately denying, "I didn't. I didn't say I fell and got hurt because of Elizabeth. I just suspected someone used unnatural means, so Arnold misunderstood."

She vehemently denied, "I didn't curse Elizabeth either; she misunderstood me."

Arnold was looking at the tablet at that moment.

Hearing Brenda's words, he showed a look of disbelief.

He said to the camera, "Brenda, you implied it was Elizabeth, which is why I came to question her!"

What did Brenda mean by this? Pushing all the blame onto him?

Brenda unhesitatingly chose the most advantageous option for herself over Arnold.

She looked at Arnold in surprise. She claimed, "Arnold, I never mentioned Elizabeth's name from the beginning. You just assumed and rushed out to question her. I was injured and lying in bed, so I couldn't stop you. You said it was Elizabeth who did it, which made me start to suspect her and it made me want to find out if it was really her."

She looked pitiful, with a bit of helplessness in her eyes. "Arnold, you must have misunderstood me."

When Arnold came back, she would comfort him well.

For now, she had to let him feel wronged.

Arnold laughed in anger. He said incredulously, "So in the end, it's all my fault?"

He indeed made a mistake; his mistake was being goaded by her and rushing to question Elizabeth.

Brenda's denial now meant she was feeling guilty.

He also remembered what Brenda said when she woke up, that it shouldn't have been her who ended up like this.

That meant she believed Elizabeth should have been the one injured, lying in the hospital, disfigured, and with broken limbs, not her.

At that moment, Arnold's heart felt icy cold as if it had fallen into an ice cave.

This was the Brenda he trusted and protected; it was laughable.

Brenda hurriedly said, "Arnold, I know you care about me, which is why you misunderstood what I said in your haste."

She then looked at Elizabeth and apologized, "Elizabeth, I'm sorry, we misunderstood things."

She did this only to hope the matter would pass quickly.

Elizabeth looked at her amusingly. Then said, "Brenda, is it really just a misunderstanding? I've already sworn that I didn't intentionally harm you. Now it's your turn. Do you dare to swear that you didn't curse me?"

Brenda wanted to avoid it; there was no way Elizabeth would agree.

She wanted Brenda to understand that anyone harboring ill intentions would inevitably face backlash.

Brenda incited Arnold to trouble her, so she had to be prepared for the consequences.

Seeing Elizabeth staring at her relentlessly, Brenda thought to herself, 'Elizabeth must be doing this on purpose. Damn it, we've been tricked by Elizabeth again.'

She cried and shook her head, explaining, "I didn't curse you; you misunderstood, that's all."

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow curiously, and pressed "If it's a misunderstanding, swearing will prove it. Don't just explain verbally; I won't listen. I believe everyone here and those watching the live stream think the same. They want to see you swear to prove your innocence."

She deliberately mentioned the live stream audience in front of Brenda.

Sure enough, the live chat were all asking Brenda to swear.

Brenda had already suffered  from the initial backlash; how could she dare to swear now?

But if she didn't swear, it would be very disadvantageous for her.

She thought for a moment, then looked at Kevin with tear-filled eyes, a look of pleading and dependence.

Now she only hoped Kevin could help her.

Kevin felt a bit scared being looked at by Brenda like that.

Previously, Arnold was also relied upon and pleaded with by her, and in a moment of impulse, he went to trouble Elizabeth.

Now she wanted him to act like Arnold!Did he really look that stupid?

Kevin realized that it was Brenda who first targeted Elizabeth.

But not only did she fail, she also suffered from the backlash.

After waking up, she was angry and came up with the idea of using Arnold to slander Elizabeth.

She wanted to ruin Elizabeth's reputation.

Kevin had recently noticed many of Brenda's little schemes but didn't expect her to be so vicious behind the scenes.

And it was clearly her who hinted at Arnold.

He and Eugene could clearly hear that the person she was referring to was Elizabeth.

Although she didn't explicitly say "Elizabeth," her words and expressions confirmed it when Arnold mentioned Elizabeth's name.

Now she was pretending to be innocent, pushing all the blame onto Arnold.

When he and Eugene asked, she also confirmed it was Elizabeth. Now she was denying it all.

He couldn't help but feel cold-hearted and a bit frightened of her.

Arnold had already been tricked by Brenda; he naturally wouldn't fall for the same trick.

Moreover, he never fully believed Brenda's words before.

So Kevin looked away from Brenda, pretending not to see her plea.

Brenda was silently frustrated. These brothers were all unreliable, one more than the other.

She was furious and then Brenda looked at Eugene.

Seeing Eugene's eyes filled with coldness and anger, and his body exuding a chill. She was startled, knowing Eugene wouldn't help her either.

Eugene said with a stern face, "Hurry up and swear. Why are you looking at me and Kevin?"

Brenda couldn't swear, nor could she admit it.

In the end, she could only come up with one solution.

She became very agitated, saying, "I don't even know anything about divination; how could I curse? Why are you all forcing me?"

She cried and screamed, "I didn't, I really didn't do it."

Then she got so agitated that she fainted.

Brenda was naturally pretending to faint, but this was the only way she could avoid facing it.

She knew she would be scolded online after pretending to faint. But it was better than being forced to admit or swear.

Seeing Brenda faint, everyone present and those watching the live stream were dumbfounded.

She fainted at just the right moment!

Everyone wasn't stupid; Brenda's obviously guilty evident from her rebuttal and fainting.

It was just guilt.

So the live chat were full of people, not just Elizabeth's fans, but other fans and viewers, mocking Brenda.

Some of Brenda's fans were silent, and some even started to dislike her.

But some fans were still defending Brenda, they scolded Elizabeth and the others for bullying Brenda, forcing her to this point.

They didn't believe in any backlash.

It must have been Elizabeth who did it and then framed their Brenda.

These people were just like those online trolls.

It didn't matter if you were right or wrong; if they were unhappy and didn't want to admit it, they would scold you.

They even deliberately went to Brenda's live stream to scold Elizabeth.Because they knew Elizabeth could see these comments on the tablet.

Elizabeth did see the comments.

She was already prepared to deal with those who treated the internet as a lawless place and randomly scolded people.

Now that they had fallen into the trap, she wouldn't be polite with them.
