Chapter 325 Just Don't Regret It Later

Paul shot Betty a disapproving look. "This mess is Brenda and Enrique's doing. What's Elizabeth got to do with it?"

He'd noticed that with all the recent drama involving their sons, the'yd become the butt of jokes among friends and family. This had thrown Betty off balance, making her feel ashamed and unfairly angry at Elizabeth.

Betty snapped back, "If she hadn't fought with Brenda, Enrique and the others wouldn't have gotten involved. Enrique's her brother. Now that he's in such a bad state, shouldn't she care?"

Paul frowned. "What are you getting at?"

Samantha, clearly annoyed, chimed in, "It was Brenda and your sons who started this. Elizabeth was just defending herself. Aren't you embarrassed enough already? Do you want to keep being a laughingstock?"

Samantha was baffled. How did Brenda's mess become Elizabeth's problem?

Betty, feeling even more defensive, retorted, "I'm just worried about Enrique. If his luck keeps going south, who knows what'll happen to him. Elizabeth's his sister. She can help, so why be so heartless? I just want to talk to her."

Samantha, now fuming, said, "Elizabeth's already cut ties with you. If you go after her, isn't that just emotional blackmail? It won't fix anything; it'll just push her further away."

Betty, stubborn as ever, shot back, "She's my daughter. What's wrong with wanting to talk to her?"

Betty looked determined to go.

Samantha, exasperated, said, "Fine, go ahead and make things worse."

She turned to Bishop. "Bishop, since Paul and Betty are here, let's stay out of it. No need to get blamed."

It was clear Betty didn't appreciate their help. So, they decided to back off. Bishop, also annoyed, agreed. They'd done so much today and got no thanks for it. That's why they usually stayed out of their kids' business.

He didn't want to get involved either, stating "Fine, we'll head back to the hotel and leave for Clifftonshireburg early tomorrow."

He then looked at Paul. "Handle your own family mess. Just make sure Betty doesn't regret it later."

Betty's stubbornness was getting worse, and she wouldn't listen to anyone. Once she made up her mind, that was it. So, let her go find Elizabeth. The times they'd called her to The Clark Villa for a lecture had only made things worse. So, they were done trying.

With that, Bishop left with Samantha. Seeing this, Paul couldn't help but chase after them, only to get scolded by Bishop and Samantha. He returned to the room, looking defeated.

He glared at Betty. "My parents are out. Happy now?"

He knew ever since Betty got called back to The Clark Villa and scolded in front of the family, she'd resented Bishop and Samantha.

Betty, hoping they'd stay out of it, retorted, "How could I be happy?"

Now that they were gone, she was relieved but wouldn't admit it. "They don't want to find Elizabeth because they think it's embarrassing. But Enrique's my son. I feel sorry for him, so I'll go find Elizabeth."

Paul saw her attitude and knew she was set on finding Elizabeth. He sighed, "Fine, go if you want. Just don't regret it." He had no desire to go find Elizabeth himself.

Betty sneered, "Fine, I never expected anything from you."

Paul frowned and said, "You should probably cut back on hanging out with Mrs. Baker."

Betty had been spending a lot of time with Amy lately, and it seemed like the more they hung out, the more Betty resented Elizabeth. Amy never liked Elizabeth and always favored Brenda, so she was probably stirring the pot. Over time, Betty was bound to be influenced.

Betty shot back, "Now you're trying to control who I hang out with? Isn't that a bit much? Amy and I get along great. What's wrong with spending time together?"

Paul hesitated. "I just think she has her own agenda getting close to you, so I'm giving you a heads-up."

Betty wasn't buying it. "You're just overthinking it. Amy and I have always been close. We're just getting even closer now. You men don't get women's stuff, so stay out of it."

She had a lot to talk about with Amy these days. Amy's daughter Rebecca was always opposing Amy, and Elizabeth was no better, always making things difficult.

Paul's face darkened. "You're being unreasonable."

Betty, equally angry, shouted back, "You're the one being unreasonable."

Seeing their parents argue, Enrique and Kevin were a bit stunned. Kevin quickly stepped in. "Mom, Dad, have you booked a hotel? Let me take you to rest." He was trying to stop the argument.

Paul said, "We haven't booked yet. I'll stay here tonight to keep an eye on things." He wasn't entirely comfortable leaving Enrique in this state.

Betty turned to Kevin. "Is there a room where you're staying? Book two rooms for us."

She knew from the livestream that Kevin and Elizabeth were in the same group, so they were staying at the same hotel. Given the situation, she decided to move in too, making it easier to find Elizabeth.

Kevin was worried. "It's so late. There probably aren't any rooms left." He didn't think it was a good idea to put Betty and Elizabeth together.

Betty was displeased. "Fine, you're against me too."

She snorted, grabbed her bag, and left. Once outside, she had her assistant book a hotel.

Seeing Betty storm off, Paul and his sons exchanged looks. Betty was really mad, and they hadn't even done anything!

Enrique had a glimmer of hope. "Dad, do you think Mom can borrow the divination tool from Elizabeth?"

Paul sighed, "No." He added earnestly, "If she can't borrow it, don't blame Elizabeth. You actually did go too far before. Your mom's been influenced."

He just hoped Betty wouldn't act impulsively. She wouldn't listen to him now.

Enrique forced a bitter smile. "I know. I have no right to blame her."

Paul stayed with his assistant, and Kevin headed back to Aevum City first.

As soon as Kevin entered the hotel, he saw Betty and her assistant coming in. His face changed. "Mom, why are you here?"

Betty glanced at him. "I'm here to check in, of course. You wouldn't help me book, so I had someone else do it."

Kevin had a headache. "Okay, let me take you to your room?"

Betty snorted, "I'll go by myself." Then she went to check in with her assistant.

Kevin followed her all the way, and only after seeing her enter her room did he breathe a sigh of relief. He then turned and went back to his room. After thinking for a while, he took out his phone and sent a message to Elizabeth.

Kevin: [Mom checked into the hotel. She'll probably come looking for you.]

Elizabeth had just finished her bath. Hearing the notification, she picked up her phone and looked at it.

She thought for a moment and replied: [Why is she looking for me? Is she after my divination tool?]
