Chapter 463 Elizabeth Is So Cunning

Elizabeth took one glance at Xavier and immediately knew he had misunderstood the situation. His mindset was still rooted in the idea of dealing with threats using conventional firearms. Catching Alaric's gaze, she gave him a nod of reassurance. Then, she reached out and gently pulled Zachary behind her.

"Leave Xavier to them. Let's work together to temporarily seal this pit of evil energy," she said.

Zachary, curious about what kind of high-tech weapon could deal with a top-level diviner like Xavier, nodded. "Okay!"

The two of them activated the magical tools on their bodies to suppress the spreading crack. Meanwhile, Alaric and the others quickly took out special palm-sized jammers from their backpacks and turned them on. After the jammers were activated, Xavier noticed that the magnetic field of the surrounding evil energy suddenly became chaotic.

He had always known that the special department had many instruments and methods to deal with sorcerers and had studied them. These jammers were designed to prevent sorcerers from using evil energy against them. He sneered, "Is this all you've got?"

He summoned the surrounding evil energy, enhanced his magical tools, forcibly broke through the interference, and attacked the jammers one by one. The jammers exploded, seemingly destroyed. Although he looked down on high-tech, he did not completely underestimate and ignore it. He had already studied what needed to be studied.

Elizabeth laughed. "As expected, you would do that." These words made the originally proud and complacent Xavier feel a bit uneasy. Then he saw many red beams appear from the exploded jammers. They surrounded him and his three subordinates.

Alaric and the others raised their hands and pressed the devices on their wrists. They controlled the red beams to cut toward the four of them.

Xavier felt an indescribable sense of danger. He also realized that this thing could indeed threaten him. Although he was wary, he was not very afraid. He didn't think this thing could defeat or kill him. Then he used his agile body to constantly shuttle through the red beams. He also used his magical tools to block them.

The others were not as agile as him and were far less powerful. So they were directly cut on their hands or legs by the red beams, lying on the ground screaming in pain.

Just then, Percy took out a gun from his pocket. This was an energy gun that Elizabeth had helped improve. He fired at Xavier, and what flew out were not ordinary bullets but energy rings.

Xavier had to dodge both the red beams and the energy rings. Gradually, he began to feel a bit overwhelmed. He accidentally touched a red beam and felt a strong stinging pain on his skin; his arm was cut.

He wanted to use evil energy to kill Alaric and the others. That way, they wouldn't be able to control this thing against him. But then his face showed surprise. He found that the evil energy he summoned couldn't get out of the red beams' encirclement. Moreover, when the energy rings fired by Percy hit him, he felt his energy being weakened.

Elizabeth spoke at this moment. "Xavier, these beams contain energy that interferes with the magnetic field. They are more effective than the jammers. If you want to summon evil energy, save your strength. As for the energy gun in Percy's hand, as long as it hits you, it can weaken your energy. Let's see if your energy runs out first or if his gun's energy runs out first."

Then she covered her mouth and chuckled. "Oh dear, I forgot, this gun is not the only one, there are several more. Mr. Henderson, you better hold on a bit longer. If you can't even last a short time, it won't be much fun for us to watch."

Xavier fell silent. Elizabeth was too cunning. It was the first time he had heard of these red beams that could interfere and cut, and the energy gun that could weaken energy. It was obvious that these were designed to deal with him.

No matter how powerful a top-level diviner was, if their energy was constantly consumed and weakened, it would eventually run out. That would be the time when their strength and defense were the weakest.

"Are these things only available to the special department?" he asked. He had planted many people in the special department, and they should have informed him immediately if such things existed.

Alaric added, "Ms. Clark specially helped improve these to deal with you. Mr. Henderson, if you know what's good for you, stop struggling in vain."

Alaric actually hadn't expected that Ethan had someone behind him. And that person was Xavier, who often cooperated with the special department. At the same time, he was amazed by Elizabeth's prowess. She not only knew divination and sorcery but also understood high-tech weapons. She perfectly combined the two.

Otherwise, to deal with Xavier, such a powerful top-level diviner, Alaric and others would be sending themselves to their deaths.

Unless they used special high-damage weapons, which had their own drawbacks. These weapons could lock onto a target and track it even if it dodged. However, if Xavier used a decoy, one missile would be wasted.

They would have to keep firing and attacking. While these weapons could lock onto a target, very few could dodge them. Even if someone could evade one or two, could they dodge eight or ten? When the top-level diviner's energy was nearly depleted, they could still kill him. However, the cost of these weapons was extremely high, and their use would leave lasting effects on the area. So, unless absolutely necessary, they wouldn't use them.

Now, the two weapons Elizabeth had improved were more practical. Though their damage seemed less, they were highly effective.

Xavier's face darkened after hearing Alaric's words. He dodged while glaring at Elizabeth. "Elizabeth, I think you're out of your mind."

He deliberately added, "These things can deal with me, but they can also deal with you in the future."

Elizabeth really went to great lengths to deal with him. But she didn't seem to realize that these things could also threaten top-level diviners, and she was one of them! He couldn't fathom her thinking. At the same time, he felt a surge of frustration and depression. He was actually being threatened by these advanced high-tech weapons.

He always believed that as a top-level diviner, only Celestial Condemnation could restrain him, and only a more powerful diviner could defeat him. But now, these red beams and energy guns had proven him wrong.

Despite his reluctance, he had to admit that he had underestimated modern technology. He shouldn't have, he really shouldn't have. But why was it like this? Sorcery was supposed to be the ultimate way to kill!
