Betty's response was a sneer, as if she had just heard the most ridiculous joke. "All these years of feelings? Weren't you just acting? Brenda, stop wasting your efforts. I will make sure you go to jail. And when you get out, I'll continue to send you 'gifts.' Just wait and see."
In that moment, Brenda's hatred for Betty deepened. "You're too heartless," she spat.
Betty's sneer only grew colder. "Right back at you," she retorted. She threw a final scornful glance at Brenda before standing up and leaving with an air of arrogance. Betty had come today to make it clear that she would not be deceived again and that she would retaliate, ensuring Brenda would never recover.
Brenda watched Betty leave, hatred burning in her eyes. Determined to fight back, she asked for a phone and called a reporter. She exposed how Betty and Amy had conspired to use Elizabeth's hair for an evil wizard to harm her, and how Betty had poisoned Zephyr, leading to the Anderson family severing ties with her and Paul divorcing her.
These revelations thrust Betty into the spotlight, and she faced severe public backlash. When Betty found out about the expose, her hatred for Brenda intensified. She began plotting to ensure that once Brenda was in jail, she would be dealt with properly. The once close mother and daughter had now become enemies, constantly harming each other.
Later, Brenda couldn't hold back and called the Clark brothers for help. All she got were unanimous rejections and scoldings from them. She also learned from Enrique that they had all contributed to the breach of contract compensation and some of the online exposures. When she got out of jail, they would send her "gifts" too.
Brenda had never expected them to be so ruthless, not caring about past feelings at all. With no one to turn to, she called Loren again.
Loren, having not experienced what the other brothers did, didn't like Brenda's biological parents, who were their enemies, and knew Brenda was insincere toward Betty. But because he was constantly scolded by Betty, he felt that although Brenda was wrong, it was somewhat understandable. After all, even the Clark brothers couldn't stand Betty back then.
