Chapter 291 It Came Too Fast

Enrique was all about giving it a shot, especially after Raymond caught onto Brenda's little trick. Brenda just sat there, watching with a cold stare.

Enrique took off his bracelet and plopped it on the table. Barely a few seconds passed when someone yelled, "Heads up!"

Enrique froze and looked where everyone was staring. A pole from the grapevine above was falling, sharp end first, right towards his head.

He was paralyzed, thinking, 'Well, this is it.'

Just then, Zachary grabbed his cup lid and chucked it at Enrique's head. With perfect aim, he knocked the pole aside, and it landed at Enrique's feet.

Enrique's face went pale. "Man, that bad luck hit fast." He turned to Zachary, "Thanks, Zachary." Without Zachary, his head would've been a bloody mess.

Zachary just smiled, staying quiet.

Enrique grabbed the water on the table and took a sip to calm down. But as soon as he did, he choked and started coughing like crazy. His face turned red, and he was struggling to breathe, looking totally freaked out.

Brenda jumped up and started patting his back.

After a minute or two, Enrique finally stopped coughing. He was gasping for air, looking like he'd just seen a ghost.

He felt like crying, muttering, "That was way too fast."

Elizabeth chimed in, "Of course it was. You gave away a third of your Generational Blessings, and that bracelet just makes the rebound hit harder. If it didn't come fast, that'd be weird."

She added, "You should ask Kevin for some Generational Blessings and give it another go."

Enrique quickly turned to Kevin. "Kevin, give me half of your Generational Blessings."

Kevin thought, 'This jerk Enrique is really pushing it.'

He said, "Brenda asked you for a third, but you want half from me? Isn't that a bit much?"

Enrique replied, "If I ask for a third, it won't work. Half is the only way to test it."

Kevin wanted to punch Enrique. He couldn't believe Enrique had the nerve. If it worked, Kevin would lose half of his Generational Blessings, and Enrique would get all his back.

Kevin looked at Elizabeth. "Should I go for it?"

Elizabeth said, "If you trust me, then do it. You're wearing the gemstone amulet, right?"

With that amulet, no one could mess with it.

Kevin nodded. "Yeah, I'm wearing it. And of course, I trust you."

Elizabeth nodded. "Go ahead and try it with him."

Kevin looked at Enrique. "Alright, I'll give you half of my Generational Blessings. Here you go."

After that, Kevin stood up and walked around a bit. He sighed in relief, "I'm not unlucky."

Enrique looked bummed and stood up too. After a few steps, he twisted his ankle and fell towards the flower bed. The flower bed was surrounded by jagged stones, and he was heading straight for a sharp, triangular one.

If his face hit it, he'd be disfigured; if his head hit it, he'd definitely bleed. Yet Enrique couldn't stop his fall.

Just then, a rope flew out from the table, wrapped around Enrique's waist, and yanked him to the side. He landed on a flat spot, avoiding the stones.

The rope had come from Elizabeth's sleeve. She was wearing an outfit today that just happened to have two ropes.

Elizabeth saved Enrique mainly because she had asked him to try it out. Plus, it wouldn't look good for him to get hurt on the live stream. Anyway, his bad luck was gonna stick around, so it didn't really matter this time.

Enrique sat up from the ground, looking even paler. That was just too freaky.

He asked, "If I put the bracelet back on now, will it still work?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah, it'll temporarily keep your bad luck in check like before. But once the bracelet's effect wears off, you'll be dealing with bad luck like this for the next three to four months."

Everyone looked at Enrique with sympathy. That was rough.

They were also shocked to learn that Generational Blessings could be given away. That was some scary stuff.

"Elizabeth, what usually needs to happen to give away Generational Blessings?" They wanted to know more to avoid getting trapped in the future.

Elizabeth explained, "There are a bunch of evil spells that can take Generational Blessings, exchange them, or even swap lives. Cases like Enrique and Brenda's are rare; you usually won't run into them. The most likely scenario is finding money on the road with a birth date, written marks, or numbers on it. If you pick it up and spend it, your life or Generational Blessings go to the other person. This is called 'buying life money' or 'buying Generational Blessings money.'

So if you find money on the road, it's best not to pick it up and use it."

She paused and continued, "Besides that, it requires you to voluntarily give it away. For instance, if someone tells you that your life is too fortunate and wishes they could trade places with you, or if they jokingly ask if you could swap lives, or if they inquire whether you could share your good luck with them, in any case, you must never agree.

If the other person has your birth date, hair, or blood, they can also borrow your Generational Blessings or lifespan."

She pointed to Enrique and Kevin, saying, "Of course, in cases like theirs, where no tampering is involved, even if you agree, the Generational Blessings won't be given away. But my advice is, if someone asks to borrow your Generational Blessings or fortune, don't agree. Don't think about trying it or not taking it seriously. Don't think it's just giving away some luck; it seems harmless."

She specifically pointed to Enrique, saying, "He's an example. You've seen his misfortune; this is what happens when you carelessly agree to give away your Generational Blessings."

Enrique's mouth twitched. He was already so unlucky, and now Elizabeth was using him as a cautionary tale. How embarrassing. He quickly got up and put the bracelet back on his wrist, thinking, 'Better suppress it for now and deal with the rebound later.'

After putting on the bracelet, Enrique walked around a few times, and nothing happened this time.

This amazed everyone present and the live stream audience. The bad luck was really controllable!

Enrique returned to his seat and looked at Brenda with a complicated expression, saying, "Brenda, you saw what just happened. Do you have anything to say?"

Brenda bit her lip, looking sad as she explained, "Enrique, I really didn't know it would be like this. My friend never told me any of this. After the show ends, I'll take you to find him, and you can ask him yourself."

She planned to ask Uncle Ethan for help to find someone to take the blame after they went out. Anyway, she would insist she didn't know and would never admit it.

Given Enrique's love and trust for her, he should believe her again, right? As long as he believed her, she would treat him better in the future.
