Chapter 169 Isn't It Obvious?

On the other hand, Kevin went back to his room to take a shower.

He watched TV for a while, then got up to knock on the door of the next room.

Arnold was lying on the bed, his throat feeling terribly sore.

Hearing the knock, he thought it was Brenda bringing him some hangover medicine.

When he opened the door and saw Kevin standing there, he was a bit stunned.

Kevin raised an eyebrow and asked sarcastically, "What, you thought it was Brenda?"

Arnold didn't argue. "Do you need something?" he replied.

Kevin shook the bag in his hand in front of him. He informed, "I brought you some medicine."

Arnold was surprised by his thoughtfulness, and said, "Come in!"

He closed the door and turned around to see Kevin sitting on a chair, looking at him with a strange expression.

Arnold asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Kevin said, "Just wondering how you could be so dumb."

Arnold's expression showed annoyance. He scolded, "If you can't speak nicely, you can leave. Instead of learning good things, you insist on learning from those two bad guys, Raymond and Eugene."

Kevin said, "I'm saying you're dumb when it comes to Brenda. You thought Brenda would bring you medicine, but she wouldn't. I'm the only one who thought of you."

He took out some medicine from the bag and handed them over for Arnold to take. He advised, "Your throat hurts now, right? Take the hangover medicine first, and then take the throat medicine six hours later."

When he bought the medicine, he explained Arnold's drinking situation, and the pharmacist instructed him how to properly take it.

Arnold was stunned. "How did you know?" he couldn't help but ask.

Kevin said honestly, "When Elizabeth was still living with us, there was a time when you and I went to an event, she reminded me that whenever you drink too much, your throat hurts. She told me to persuade you not to drink, and if you had to still drink; remember to take some of her special throat lozenges. She even gave me a box as a backup. Later, you didn't drink, so I ate them myself. They tasted pretty good and really soothed my throat."

Arnold was dumbfounded."So you know all this because Elizabeth told you?" he said in disbelief.

At this moment, he suddenly didn't know how to describe his conflicted feelings.

Kevin nodded, and remarked, "Of course, who else would care about you?"

The five brothers got along well, but they usually did their own things and didn't pay attention to such details.

Only Elizabeth would notice these tiny details and care for them through her own little ways.

He added, "Your Brenda probably doesn't know, or even if she noticed, she wouldn't bother. So she only says she cares about you but doesn't ever act on it. For example, buying this hangover medicine. If she really cared, why would she ask you? Someone like me would just buy it and bring it to you, right? I'm learning from the examples Elizabeth used to do. Brenda knows you wouldn't let her go to the pharmacy, so she just says she cares, and when you say no, she really doesn't do it."

Arnold felt a sudden pang of discomfort. He felt a bit foolish for being touched earlier.

Thinking back, all that Kevin mentioned was true.

When Elizabeth was still at home, she never just said she cared; she showed it through her actions.

That's why he felt uncomfortable after Elizabeth left the Clark family.

Brenda also cared for him, but it was always just spoken words.

Thinking carefully, he couldn't recall a time where Brenda did anything for him.

Arnold poured a glass of water and took the hangover medicine.

He was already feeling the aftereffects of drinking such as a headache, sore throat, and an upset stomach.

He would take the throat medicine in the morning.

He asked, "Why did you come to tell me this?"

Kevin sighed heavily and explained, "Because I felt it deeply during the recording of the first episode of the variety show."

Then he told Arnold about getting sick from eating pasta for Brenda and having to get a shot, and she didn't care about him.

"And before this variety show, Richard told me Brenda wasn't as simple and sweet as she seemed to be. I started to observe and found it was true. She has a lot of little schemes and only shows her concern verbally."

Arnold fell silent, his mind was a mess .

Kevin didn't say more, just patted his shoulder. He advised, "Arnold, think about it."Then he went back to his room.

At another hotel, Raymond also reminded Elizabeth, telling her to be careful of Brenda.

Elizabeth assured him she would be careful.

The next day, Elizabeth's group went for breakfast and checked the app for any activities or ways to make money.

Raymond handed his phone over to Elizabeth and Gilbert. "We can join this!" he suggested excitedly.

Elizabeth and Gilbert looked at it.

In three days, the best internet cafe in the city would host a "Gunfight" game event.

Registration closes the next day, and teams could still sign up. The winning team would get a 100,000 Veridiania currency reward.

Gilbert said, "I can play this game, and I'm pretty good at it."

Elizabeth said, "I haven't played it, but I can learn."

She often played games for fun and had even been an e-sports player in a small world.

So learning it now wouldn't be a problem.

Gilbert thought for a moment. Then he pointed out, "There are only three of us, but 'Gunfight' is a five-player game. We need two more."

Raymond said, "We can ask the other group. Marlon plays; he mentioned it before. I guess Nancy can play too, or if not, she can learn. Ronald can be a backup."

Elizabeth grinned and mentioned, "We can ask. If we win the 100,000 Veridiania currency, we won't have to do any tasks for the last three days."

Arthur, watching the live stream, fell silent. 'No, you guys need to stay active!' he wanted to say.

Raymond announced it in the group chat.

Ronald and the others didn't object.

Nancy: [I can play, I want to join, I want to enjoy playing with you guys.]

Ronald: [I can't play, but I'll cheer for you. I want to win without doing anything!]

Marlon: [I can play, I'm in, I want to win too!]

They had been envious of Raymond and Gilbert being helped by Elizabeth and winning without doing anything.

Now they had a chance, so they were eager to join.

Raymond: [Alright, it's settled. After you finish work tonight, we'll go to the internet cafe to practice.]

Nancy: [Raymond, the word 'work' makes us uncomfortable!]

Raymond: [Haha, we have Elizabeth!]

Nancy and the others were envious. They agreed, while the other group was frustrated.

Except for Brenda, none of them were enthusiastic about making money or working.

They were also having breakfast when they saw the group chat buzzing.

Brenda saw the messages from them in the group chat.

She couldn't help but badmouth them, "Those two groups teamed up, and we're left out again."

She meant they were being excluded, and the other two groups were being unfair.

Eugene glanced at her as he said, "It's nothing new."

Wasn't it obvious?

Kevin also knew the other two groups wouldn't include them.

So he said, "Let's think about how to make money for food and lodging today."

Brenda fell silent. These two were hopeless.
