Chapter 361 This Makes It Fun

After Enrique's dizziness faded, he suddenly felt a burst of energy. He'd always felt like something was missing, but now that feeling was gone.

"Mr. Murphy, have my Generational Blessings come back?" he asked, unable to hold back.

Zachary replied, "Half of them are back. The rest were used by Brenda. You'll still have some bad luck, but it won't be as bad or as often as before."

Enrique was stunned. "So, you're saying only half of my Generational Blessings are back, and the rest are gone for good?"

Zachary gave him a cold look. "What, you're not happy? The curse is lifted, and she can't take your Generational Blessings anymore."

Enrique shivered under his gaze and quickly said, "No, Mr. Murphy, you misunderstood. I'm not unhappy. Just asking."

At first, knowing only half of his Generational Blessings had returned made him uneasy, but after Zachary's explanation, he let it go. He realized a powerful divination master could do many things, and he wouldn't dare offend Zachary again. Even Elizabeth was off-limits now.

He thought to himself, 'Elizabeth is really something.'

She had shown Enrique mercy before. If she had used such things against him, he would have been in a terrible state. He realized how foolish he had been.

At that moment, he could only console himself with the thought that regaining half of his Generational Blessings wasn't entirely unfortunate. From then on, he vowed to keep as much distance as possible from Brenda. The lesson had been far too painful.

He then looked at Elizabeth and said gently, "When are you going back to Clifftonshireburg? How about we go together?"

Elizabeth was puzzled by Enrique's sudden friendliness. He must have lost his mind again.

She replied coldly, "No need."

Seeing her cold attitude, Enrique felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over him. It was so hard to mend their relationship!

Paul also wanted to ask Elizabeth if she wanted to go back to Clifftonshireburg together. Seeing Enrique get rejected, he swallowed his words.

Elizabeth packed up all the items used for the previous divination on the table and put them in a trash bag. She planned to take them out and dispose of them later. It was better not to let these things fall into other people's hands.

After tidying up, she said to Zachary, "Zachary, let's go back to Aevum City."

Zachary stood up. He didn't mention the payment; but if the Clark Family dared not to pay, he had ways to deal with them.

Paul and the others wanted the two to stay a bit longer, but seeing this, they knew it wasn't possible.

When Paul and Kevin stood up, just about to escort the two back to Aevum City, the door to the hospital room suddenly swung open. Betty and Amy walked in together.

The moment Amy saw Elizabeth, her once smiling face immediately fell, and a cold snort escaped her nose. Her gaze then shifted to Zachary, scrutinizing and curious, but when Zachary’s icy stare met hers, it startled her.

She found it peculiar that Zachary, who seemed like a serene person, could evoke such fear in her. Nevertheless, the instruction her lover had given her was fulfilled.

Betty was stunned to see Elizabeth and Zachary and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Before Elizabeth could speak, Paul said, "I invited them." He then looked at Betty displeased and asked, "Do you have a problem with that?"

Betty felt a bit aggrieved. "I was just asking, why are you using that tone?"

Paul frowned. "Because you, as a mother, went too far."

Betty's face darkened as she retorted, "How did I go too far?"

Elizabeth didn't want to watch them argue, so she spoke up, "Mr. Clark, Zachary and I are leaving now."

Paul said, "I'll take you back." He walked to the door, clearly determined to see them off.

Elizabeth's nose twitched as she caught a scent. Then she glanced at Betty and Amy. With a thought, she didn't refuse Paul. "Alright."

Together with Zachary, they ignored Betty and Amy and left directly. Before stepping out, her fingers moved slightly. A wisp of malevolent energy slipped onto Amy.

As they left, Amy pouted at Betty and said, "Your Elizabeth is even worse than my Rebecca. She didn't even say hello to you?" It successfully changed Betty's expression.

Kevin was speechless; he was now very annoyed with Amy. Wasn't she blatantly trying to stir up trouble between Betty and Elizabeth?

He said, "Elizabeth cut ties with us a long time ago. It's not unusual for strangers not to greet each other, right? Mrs. Baker, you should mind your own business in the future."

Amy didn't expect Kevin to retort her, and her face turned even uglier. She then looked at Betty. "Is Kevin saying I'm not welcome to visit?"

Betty felt embarrassed and said to Kevin, "How dare you go so far? Where are your manners?" Kevin was foolish to say such things in front of Amy. She added, "Apologize to Mrs. Baker right now."

Kevin rolled his eyes. "I'm just stating the facts. I'm going to find my dad."

With that, he opened the door and left; he could still catch up with Paul.

Seeing Kevin show her no respect and run off, Betty was furious. They had all been influenced by Elizabeth. She apologized to Amy, "I'm sorry, Kevin and I have been having conflicts lately."

Amy, with a magnanimous expression, said, "It's okay, my two kids have bad tempers too." After sitting for a while, she took her leave.

In the car back to Aevum City, Elizabeth said to Paul, "Has Mrs. Clark's mood been unstable lately?"

Paul was first stunned, then he understood. "Yes, she doesn't listen to anything we say but is so convinced by that Mrs. Baker. Did you discover something?"

He knew Betty's temper wasn't great, but it wasn't usually this stubborn and unreasonable.

Elizabeth nodded. "I noticed Mrs. Baker was wearing a special perfume. This perfume doesn't harm her, but it affects those who frequently come into contact with her. It amplifies their emotions, turning small issues into big ones."

Previously, when she saw Betty and noticed that Betty was increasingly antagonistic towards her, even seeming to detest her, she felt that something was off with Betty's emotions. At that time, she used her energy perception but found no trace of any malevolent sorcery.

However, upon seeing Amy today, she immediately understood. It turned out that whenever Amy interacted with Betty, she would deliberately use this perfume, causing Betty to become more emotionally volatile. Furthermore, Amy frequently spoke ill of her in Betty's ear, which only exacerbated Betty's growing animosity towards her.

Of course, Betty wasn't innocent either. This perfume only amplified existing emotions; it didn't create them out of thin air. It meant that Betty indeed harbored resentment and dissatisfaction towards her.

She reminded Paul because she wanted Betty to know about this and develop a rift with Amy. Given Betty's personality and her current emotional state, she would definitely confront Amy.

The malevolent energy she placed on Amy would also amplify Amy's emotions. If Betty confronted her, Amy would lose control and speak her mind. The two would then fight each other, saving her the trouble.

Betty had a strong sense of pride and liked to blame others for her problems. Once she realized Amy had played her, she would definitely seek revenge.

The most likely scenario was that she would do something regarding the King Family. This would hit Amy's vulnerabilities and pain points, prompting her to retaliate. Then their conflict would be quite entertaining.
