Chapter 150 So Angry!

Brenda was being comforted by Arnold, but she wasn't as happy and proud as she used to be. She pushed him away, saying, "Arnold, I'm fine."

They were still live streaming. How could Arnold be so careless? And hugging in front of Raymond? What would he think?

Seeing Arnold still holding her, she pushed him again. "Arnold, we're on a live stream. We need to follow the rules and work hard to earn money so we can stay in a nice hotel tonight."

Arnold finally realized they were live. It was his first time on a live stream, so he had forgotten. But the audience had already seen their intimate moment. The chat was buzzing: [Here it comes, the love from the brother, it's here!]

Arnold quickly let go of Brenda. "I was just worried you'd feel wronged."

He then looked at Raymond. "Even though you're guests, you can't deliberately cause trouble, right?"

Raymond, amused, replied, "How are we causing trouble? When you go to a restaurant, do you expect a sour face or a stiff smile from the staff?"

Arnold paused. "We..."

He was about to say, 'We won't serve you anymore,' but Brenda interrupted, "We will do our best."

She tugged at Arnold's sleeve, signaling him to stay calm. Then she forced a smile at Raymond. "What violin piece would you like to hear? We'll play it now."

This time, her smile seemed genuine. Brenda could be very humble and patient when needed.

Raymond knew that if he kept pushing, the audience might start to dislike them. He didn't care, but he didn't want the audience to dislike Elizabeth. So he turned to Elizabeth and Gilbert. "What do you want to hear?"

Gilbert said, "I'm fine with anything. Let Elizabeth decide."

Raymond smiled. "Me too, whatever Elizabeth wants to hear, I'll listen to."

Their behavior made Brenda jealous. Raymond was far superior to Elizabeth in terms of status and background. She had seen him at high-society events before. He always carried himself with pride and arrogance, never admiring anyone. She couldn't understand why someone like Raymond would admire Elizabeth so much. The more she saw it, the more she wanted Raymond for herself.

Elizabeth took the violin music list from the waiter and pointed at two pieces. "Play these two."

Arnold frowned. "Why two pieces?"

He didn't want to do this job anymore and was angry at Brenda. If they quit, the audience might curse at them, but that would be better than being bullied by Elizabeth and her group. They didn't rely on variety shows for a living, so why humiliate themselves? But since Brenda chose to endure, he couldn't just walk away.

Elizabeth looked at him. "Two pieces mean each of you plays one."

Arnold was speechless. "You want to hear two pieces?"

Elizabeth said, "We paid for this service, so we want to enjoy it to the maximum. If you don't want to play, let the manager come and talk to us."

Brenda was fuming. "Elizabeth, that's enough."

If the manager got involved, they'd definitely lose their pay.

Elizabeth looked at Arnold. "Either play the violin or call the manager, your choice."

Brenda whispered, "Arnold, we still need a hotel tonight."

With Elizabeth's attitude, if they didn't play, she'd definitely complain to the manager. No pay meant no nice hotel.

Arnold gritted his teeth. "Fine, we'll play."

They divided the work, and Brenda picked up the violin. She had changed into a silver gown earlier, looking intellectual and elegant. The violin was her main instrument in conservatory, so she was confident.

After finishing a piece, Brenda asked Raymond, "Are the three of you satisfied?"

She thought she played well and expected Raymond to appreciate it. But Raymond asked, "Do you want the truth or a lie?"

Brenda felt uneasy. "Of course, the truth."

Raymond said, "Very bad. The emotion was completely wrong. This is a cheerful piece, but you played it with resentment. It felt suffocating and dissatisfied. So, it was a failure."

Brenda was silent, regretting she asked. She didn't think she played badly, so she took a deep breath. "Really? Can you be more specific?"

She felt Raymond was picking on her under Elizabeth's influence.

Raymond saw her dissatisfaction. Her words implied he was causing trouble. He reached out. "Can I have the violin?"

Brenda handed it over. Raymond played a short segment. "Here, it should be cheerful." Then he mimicked Brenda's playing. "But you played it like this."

He imitated her almost exactly. He found more similar problems, played them, and then repeated Brenda's version.

The other tables and the live stream audience initially thought Brenda's playing was good and Raymond was causing trouble. But after hearing his playing and comments, they realized he was right. His version was cheerful; hers was resentful.

Some audience members even looked up the original piece online and confirmed it was cheerful. Brenda's confident violin skills weren't that great after all!

Gilbert asked, "What if you don't tell the truth?"

Raymond smiled, "My violin skills are just amateurish, definitely not as good as Brenda, a conservatory graduate."

Everyone was silent. His words were highly insulting.

Brenda didn't expect Raymond to know so much about the violin. As soon as he played and commented, she knew she was going to be embarrassed. She couldn't understand why Raymond couldn't show a bit of gentlemanly demeanor. She had thought she should have asked for the lie; it might have sounded better. But his so-called lie was even more hurtful!
