Chapter 331 How is This Possible? How Does She Know?

The blonde guy, Victor King's words left everyone watching, both in person and on the live stream, totally confused. Meanwhile, Brenda's fans and those who weren't too fond of Elizabeth started chiming in.

[This makes sense. I always thought Elizabeth was in cahoots with the show to trick us.]

[Those people who asked Elizabeth for fortune-telling before were definitely plants.]

[Exactly! While her sense of destiny is indeed strong, Elizabeth's readings are just too uncanny.]

[I don't buy that she's that good.]

They quickly started swaying public opinion on the live stream, pushing for Victor to expose Elizabeth. But Elizabeth's fans and people who had actually benefited from her readings fired back, saying her stuff was legit and not some staged act. Most folks still had Elizabeth's back.

Elizabeth shot Victor a smile and said, "Are you saying I and the people I read for were just acting?"

Victor, with his nose in the air, replied, "Of course, it's obvious."

Kevin and Eugene, seeing Victor's attitude, knew he was there to stir up trouble. They were about to step in and make him leave when Elizabeth spoke again, "It's easy to spread rumors. If you doubt me, show some evidence."

The two stopped and echoed, "Yeah, show us the evidence. Don't just spout nonsense."

Victor sneered, "Come on, it's obvious you paid these folks to put on a show."

The crowd wasn't buying it.

"You're clueless. We believe in Elizabeth."

"Exactly, you don't speak for everyone."

Those who had gotten readings from Elizabeth were also pissed.

"We went to Elizabeth for readings on a whim. There's no way we were pre-arranged."

"If you keep slandering, we'll sue you for defamation."

Victor smirked, "I'm not scared. Go ahead and sue me!" Then he turned to Elizabeth, saying, "You want evidence? Here I am. Go ahead, read my sense of destiny and tell me about myself."

He wasn't just there to cause trouble; he genuinely didn't believe in fortune-telling. He thought Elizabeth was a fraud and planned to use his own experience to expose her. He didn't think she could tell him anything about himself. After all, she couldn't have known they were coming to cause trouble and investigated him in advance.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow at Victor, saying, "You want a reading? Pay up first. Don't think you can get it for free."

Victor paused, then took out his credit cards. "It's just a hundred bucks. I can afford that."

Elizabeth calmly replied, "No electronic payments. Cash only."

Victor was speechless. He felt Elizabeth was deliberately making things difficult for him. She must have been unable to read him, so she wanted to make him leave. He wouldn't fall for it.

He turned to his companion, asking, "You got cash?"

His companion shook his head. "I didn't bring any either. I'll go get some. Wait here." After speaking, he informed the person behind him that he was ahead in line and they shouldn't cut in. Then, he dashed off to the restaurant diagonally opposite.

Elizabeth's gaze shifted to the second floor of the restaurant, to a private room facing them. The window was open, and it was clear someone inside had been watching. With her keen eyesight, she identified the person within. She was slightly surprised. Inside the private room was Caleb, one of Amy's nephews.

In her past life, not only had she met Caleb, but he had also approached her. He had asked her to break up with Eugene and even tried to keep her as a mistress.

Caleb had persistently harassed her until she dealt with him harshly, and he had done many evil deeds behind the scenes.

She had already figured out that Victor and his buddy were following someone's orders and had a pretty good guess about who it might be. She also noticed Victor didn't have any cash on him, which was why she insisted on cash payment, forcing them to go back to their benefactor. This way, she could use the money's aura to figure out who was behind all this.

But now, she didn't even need to divine. Seeing Caleb, she knew for sure it was Amy. Amy must have lost her mind to send Caleb to mess with her. She and Eugene were no longer a thing. Was this for Brenda? Since Amy had come to harm her, she would retaliate.

Soon, Victor's buddy came back. He slapped two hundred bucks on the table, saying, "Here's the money. Now do the reading."

He then sneered at Elizabeth, "If your reading is off, don't blame us for smashing your stall." Caleb had told them to expose Elizabeth and then wreck her setup.

Elizabeth turned to Eugene and said, "Take the money."

Amy was definitely watching the live stream, so she made a point of bossing Eugene around. With Amy's possessiveness, this would really get under her skin. If Amy was upset, Elizabeth would be pleased.

Eugene was surprised that Elizabeth was talking to him and giving him orders. He smiled gently. "Okay!"

He took the two hundred bucks and put it in the cash box. Then he looked at Elizabeth and asked, "Anything else?"

Elizabeth deliberately said, "The dessert you bought earlier was a bit too sweet. Could you go get me something less sweet?"

Eugene's smile deepened. "Okay!" Then he went to buy more desserts.

As Elizabeth expected, Amy, who was watching the live stream, was furious. She cursed Eugene for being a sycophant and embarrassing her. She was also a bit jealous; Eugene had never done such things for her. In the past, if she had ordered Eugene around like this, he would have done it. But now, their relationship was strained because of Elizabeth.

She can't even get Eugene to pick up the phone, let alone buy desserts for her. When he did answer, he would hang up after a few words, and sometimes even argue with her. The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She just hoped the two people Caleb sent would be effective.

Victor and his buddy thought Elizabeth was stalling. He slapped the table again, shouting, "Stop making excuses and do the reading. Don't think that by interrupting us, we won't expose you."

Elizabeth finally looked at them. She emphasized, "I'll tell you about yourselves first. Don't regret it."

Victor sneered, "We won't regret it. Let's see what you come up with. Go ahead."

Elizabeth looked at his sense of destiny and divined for a moment. She then said to him, "Let's start with you. You were born into a poor family. Your father and grandmother often beat your mother. Your mother couldn't take it and divorced, leaving the town."

"She later married a wealthy businessman by chance. Because she missed you, she brought you to live with her. As a result, your biological father extorted a lot of money from her. Your stepfather, due to health reasons, had no children before, so he treated you well." Elizabeth paused, looking at Victor with cold eyes.

She then continued, "But your mother probably has no idea she raised someone so cold and heartless. A few years ago, your mother got pregnant with your stepfather's child. Since it was their only child, you worried it would be a threat to you. So you secretly harmed your mother, causing her to miscarry."

Elizabeth sighed, "To this day, she probably doesn't know that the miscarriage was your doing. She feels guilty towards your stepfather because it was his only child, and it was lost."

After she finished speaking, Victor's face changed. His pupils contracted, showing shock and panic. How could this be? How did she know? He had done it very discreetly, without involving anyone else, and had never told anyone. Could Elizabeth really divine?
