Chapter 165 Who Did He Offend This Time?
Kevin's involvement left Arnold completely bewildered.
Were they really brothers?
Why did he feel that Kevin also had bad intentions towards him?
"No need to be like this. After all, I'm a senior, and I have the tolerance for this." Arnold said.
None of these three were good people.
He felt that if they insisted on making him bet, he would ignore them.
Just as he finished speaking, Elizabeth spoke up, "Arnold has such high tolerance for alcohol, but we don't agree. If Gilbert is really cheating, I won't cover for him. He should be the one to drink as a penalty. Of course, if my person is the one being bullied, then those who slandered him should also apologize."
She looked at Arnold provocatively, and taunted,. "Arnold, what do you think? Or are you afraid to bet?"
Kevin egged him on from the side. He teased, "Arnold, what are you afraid of? Bet with them."
Earlier, Arnold had looked at him with disdain, questioning why he agreed to the bet.
Now he wanted Arnold to experience what it meant to have no choice but to agree, what it meant to have no way out.
What it meant to know it was a trap but still had to jump in.
Raymond, who rarely found Kevin so agreeable, said, "Exactly, Arnold, don't be afraid of them. If you're a man, place the bet. Five drinks are nothing to you; you can surely finish them in five gulps."
Arnold was dumbfounded.
Weren't they supposed to dislike each other and find each other annoying?
When did they start standing on the same side?
What did he do to deserve this?
With a bit of gritted teeth, Arnold relented, saying, "Fine, I'll bet."
What else could he do?
If he didn't take the bet, it would look like he was scared of losing it.
He also firmly believed that Gilbert, whom he had always suppressed, couldn't be that capable.
So he was not afraid at all!
He looked at Elizabeth and Raymond, saying, "But I have a condition."
Elizabeth guessed what he was going to say but still asked, "Go ahead."
"If Gilbert doesn't succeed, it proves he's not that capable. You and Raymond each have to drink five cups as well," Arnold said.
Elizabeth insisted on helping Gilbert and opposing him, so they should apologize together, along with Raymond.
Elizabeth and Raymond agreed without hesitation, "Deal!"
Raymond glanced at the three people beside Arnold.Smiling, he asked, "If you lose, will your group members also join in?"
Eugene wasn't falling for it. He objected, "I just chose Gilbert earlier, so I won't be drinking this time either."
Arnold was very displeased with Eugene; Eugene was completely betraying him.
What did he mean by "won't be drinking this time either"? Was he implying Arnold would lose again?
He laughed, and agreed, "Then Eugene doesn't count."
Kevin raised his hand, and declared, "Exclude me from this round."He didn't want to drink five cups of that kind of alcohol.
Arnold objected, "No way, we're brothers. You have to join."
Kevin shamelessly said, "Then let's temporarily sever our relationship."
This time he was determined not to bet.
If he made another bet again, wouldn't that make him look too foolish?
Arnold was gobsmacked. He didn't want a brother like Kevin anymore.
With a dark expression filled with annoyance, he said, "Get lost!"
[Fake brotherly love!]
[This shows how bad Arnold's relationships are.]
[Even his groupmates Eugene and Kevin aren't on his side. Poor Arnold.]
[When Kevin spoke earlier, I thought he was genuinely angry for Arnold, but it turns out he just wanted Arnold to bet.]
[This is so entertaining, Kevin's betrayal. Arnold must be regretting having such a brother.]
[Good job, Kevin!]
[Haha, I suddenly don't dislike Kevin as much.]
[I'm curious about how Brenda will choose.]
[Same here.]
Everyone looked curiously at Brenda on the live stream screen.
At this moment, Brenda was feeling a bit overwhelmed.
She hadn't even finished the three cups of drinks in front of her, and Arnold had already agreed to another five cups. How could he be so foolish?
She had a sweet and considerate persona. If she didn't stand by Arnold, she would definitely be criticized.
But seeing that no one else was on Arnold's side, she also felt like Arnold might lose.
So she was stuck in a dilemma.
After thinking for a while, she decided to pretend she didn't hear anything.
As long as she didn't speak, no matter who won, she wouldn't have to drink.
But Arnold desperately needed someone's affirmation at this moment.
He looked at Brenda and asked, "Brenda, you're with me, right?"
Brenda was flustered. She also wanted to say, 'Get lost.'
Feeling a bit troubled, Brenda pointed to the three cups of drinks on the table. She said pitifully, "Arnold, I haven't even finished these yet."
Arnold looked at the three large cups on the table.
He said to Kevin, "Brenda is your sister. How can she drink so much? You help her drink some."
Kevin was speechless. He retorted, "She's your sister too. Why don't you drink?"
Arnold was all talk and no action. And why should Arnold make him drink all of it?
Arnold frowned deeply in frustration, and accused, "You're acting strange today!"
Kevin knew exactly what Arnold meant.
In the past, without him saying anything, Kevin would have taken the initiative to protect Brenda and drink for her.
But ever since the last episode, when he had diarrhea for Brenda, and she only showed concern verbally without taking any action, he couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment.
This experience reminded him of Elizabeth, who would always take action to show her concern when he had a stomachache.
What he couldn't accept was Brenda's claim that she and Eugene were just friends, especially when photos and videos surfaced proving their relationship was more complicated.Because of this, Elizabeth and Eugene broke up.
Not only had Brenda lied to him, but she had also interfered in Elizabeth's relationship which made him very uncomfortable.
Before coming to this variety show, Richard had warned him that Brenda was manipulative and playing them, not as innocent and sweet as she seemed.
This made him recall many past events and realize she indeed had many little schemes.
So this time on the variety show, he wasn't as foolishly devoted to Brenda as before.
Of course, he had cared for her for many years.
He hadn't actually planned to make Brenda drink all of it; he had intended to help her with two cups.
He reached out and took one cup. Kevin said, "I'll drink this one for her."
He downed it in one gulp.
He looked at Arnold and said, "Arnold, you usually care for Brenda the most. The remaining two cups are yours."
Originally, it was supposed to be one cup each, but since Arnold insisted, he could drink an extra cup.
Plus the five cups later, and Brenda's five cups later.
Arnold could drink until he threw up, and Kevin wouldn't feel sorry for him.
Arnold was unhappy with Kevin's suggestion.
But he saw Brenda's dependent and aggrieved look, he picked up a cup and said, "Fine, I'll drink these two cups for Brenda."
After drinking, his face twisted, almost throwing up.
What kind of cocktail was this? How could it taste so bad, so disgusting?
Before he could finish feeling nauseous, Kevin handed him another cup. He taunted, "Arnold, you're amazing. Come on, keep going."
Arnold was silent. Kevin had been influenced by Raymond.
