Chapter 93 How Did She Do It?
Richard was baffled.
He asked his assistant, "How did Emily get to be a guest? Did she sign with a big company?"
Hw wondered if Rex had lost it and signed Emily to mess with them.
But that didn't sound like Rex.
Emily's reputation wastrashed; she was a lost cause.
The assistant said, "No big company. She signed with a new studio. Oh, and Herman moved his team there too."
Richard had told him to keep tabs on Herman, so he found out about Emily.
Richard was shocked, "Herman joined a new studio?"
He remembered something Steven had mentioned.
With a serious look, he said, "Find out which studio it is. They're clearly targeting us."
The assistant nodded. "On it."
Herman and his crew commenced their venture at the pristine new studio, a sprawling expanse that commanded an entire floor. The aura exuded freshness and comfort in unison.
Each member was bestowed with a cutting-edge desktop and a premier-grade laptop, setting the stage for productivity.
Amidst the expanse, pockets of reprieve for relaxation, dining, and fitness punctuated the space, each meticulously designed. The rest area beckoned with a spread of coffee, invigorating juices, assorted snacks, and bountiful fresh produce, catering to varied cravings.
A marked upgrade from the confines of Clark Entertainment, the ambiance at the new studio enthralled with its superior amenities.
Emily and her duo of comrades made their entrance as well, stepping into individually tailored private sanctuaries that harmonized with their aesthetic sensibilities.
Rebecca's generosity extended to bonuses earmarked for the adornment of their personal spaces, a gesture that resonated deeply, affirming their worth.
The contrast to their former shared office area at Clark Entertainment was stark, underscoring the newfound exclusivity and appreciation woven into every detail.
Elizabeth had cakes and drinks sent to the rest area.
She called everyone for a welcome party.
She talked about the studio and future plans.
Everyone felt relaxed and excited about the new job.
After work talk, Elizabeth chatted to build rapport.
Emily's phone rang.
It was her old agent, surprising her.
She stepped out to take the call.
Two minutes later, she returned and sat next to Elizabeth.
She whispered, "Mr. Clark, my agent asked about our studio boss. Clark Entertainment knows about Mr. Simmons and us."
Elizabeth smiled. "No worries. If they ask again, tell them the truth. I opened the studio, and Rebecca is the main shareholder."
She looked at everyone. "Same for you all. We're openly challenging Clark Entertainment, no need to hide."
Mr. Simmons had switched teams, and Emily got a show spot.
This would definitely catch the Clark brothers' and other companies' attention, making them investigate.
Once there was any buzz, they couldn't stay hidden.
Mr. Simmons smiled, "Ms. Clark is right. It'll come out eventually. Be ready."
Elizabeth saw that after settling family issues, Mr. Simmons was full of energy and determination.
She said, "Starting today, or tomorrow, Clark Entertainment will react. They'll use the fact that I opened a studio and signed Emily to discredit us."
Elizabeth instructed, "Get ready for PR. Stand firm that Emily's innocent and rally her remaining fans. If they bash me, manage the comments; no need to argue back. It looks bad to the audience. The big PR push will be during Emily's live show in five days."
Herman nodded. "Got it, Ms. Clark. We're prepared."
They had just joined the studio, and their future hinged on this battle.
If they won, they'd make a name for themselves.
If they lost, Elizabeth would be humiliated, and they might have to quit and find new careers.
So losing wasn't an option; they had to win.
Hearing this, everyone else got excited and eager.
They'd all been mistreated at Clark Entertainment and wanted payback.
With a common enemy, the studio was united and determined to succeed.
Meanwhile, Clark Entertainment and two other big companies found out who started the studio.
Rex was the first to hear.
He and Raymond were gaming in the office.
After the assistant's report, Rex was surprised. "Elizabeth's that good? She actually snagged the best operations team from Clark Entertainment."
As competitors, the three big companies kept tabs on each other. So he knew when Herman and his team had quit. Confident in the capabilities of his current operations team, Rex had no intentions of replacing them. Had the circumstances been different, he might have considered poaching Herman's team as well.
The other major companies likely shared a similar sentiment, cognizant of the appeal of Herman's team but hesitant to provoke the ire of the formidable Clark brothers. After all, the brothers had made it clear that taking Herman's team meant going against them.
Rex was aware of Elizabeth's desire to lure talent from Clark Entertainment, but he hadn't anticipated her audacious move.
With the successful poaching of Herman's team, the stage was set for a riveting turn of events.
Raymond said, "Elizabeth's impressive. Why are you surprised she poached an operations team?"
Rex was silent.
From Raymond's view, anything Elizabeth did was normal.
"I just don't get it. Herman was so loyal to Clark and smart. Why switch to a studio Elizabeth just started?"
There had to be more to it.
Raymond, still focused on his game, said, "It's Elizabeth's charm and skill! If you can't see that, Rex, you're slipping!"
Rex glared at him. "You're the one slipping! But yeah, Elizabeth is impressive. She poached Clark's veteran team and got Emily on Anna's show. No one knows how she did it. I'm curious, Emily's reputation is trashed. How will she fix it?"
Even if Emily was Starlight's talent, they couldn't clear her name now.
So how would Elizabeth do it?
Raymond smirked, "This is just the start. Don't be so surprised. As for clearing her name, you'll see soon. Just wait."
Rex, now more curious, said, "Alright, I'll wait and see."
He then told his assistant to keep a close watch on Elizabeth's studio and report any updates immediately.
