Chapter 250 I Believe You

Elizabeth totally got why Nicole was going for revenge. If she were in her shoes, she might do the same. But Nicole's plan right now? It was like setting herself on fire. And with Darlene's crew getting stronger, it was a bad move. Elizabeth knew there had to be a smarter way.

Grabbing Nicole's hand, Elizabeth said seriously, "You're the key here. If you bail, Darlene will freak out without your Generational Blessings. Even if she takes over the Spellscroll Group, she'll just keep Nicholas as her puppet. If you want quick revenge, you gotta push them hard."

Seeing Nicole still mulling it over, Elizabeth kept going, "If Darlene can't use Generational Blessings to appraise treasures, her status in the Spellscroll Group and family will tank. The Spellscroll family has put too much into her to just let her go, but once they see her true colors, they'll clash. If they start fighting each other, you'll have the upper hand."

Nicole was deep in thought, starting to come around.

Elizabeth leaned in and said quietly, "You hate the Spellscroll family and want them to get a taste of their own medicine. Don't you want them to hate you too? They'd love to take you down, but they can't touch you."

Nicole muttered, "I used to want their love, but now I just want them to hate me."

Elizabeth pressed on, "Exactly. Their hatred means you've pushed them to the edge. Sure, Darlene ditching them is a kind of revenge, but they'd only hate her. They'd still see you as trash. Real revenge is making them regret and suffer while you get your payback."

Nicole asked, "How do I do that?"

Elizabeth laid it out, "Push Darlene to fight for power with the Spellscroll family. Let them tear each other apart. Meanwhile, you escape their grip and show up better than Darlene. Make them realize what a huge mistake they made. Make them regret listening to a fraud and treating Darlene like gold while tossing you aside. Darlene will bite back at them, and you'll be too good for them. Watching their regret and pain will be so much sweeter, right?"

Nicole hesitated. "But can I really be better than Darlene?"

Elizabeth said firmly, "If you put in the work, you definitely can."

Nicole had been crushed by two families her whole life, killing her confidence. So, Elizabeth had to not only help her out but also build her up.

Elizabeth leaned in and whispered, "While getting your revenge, you can also show them what you're made of. Once they're all taken down, you can live your best life with your skills. Why throw your life away for these people? Imagine them stuck in their mess, watching you thrive. They'll be green with envy, full of hate, and drowning in regret. Wouldn't that feel amazing?"

Nicole's eyes lit up with a spark of hope, but then doubt crept back in. "But how can I escape? They always find me, no matter where I go."

Elizabeth replied, "They track you because of a curse linking your destiny to Darlene's. I can help break that link, get your Generational Blessings back, and keep you hidden from them. I'll send you abroad to study or set you up with private tutors in a safe spot. Meanwhile, I'll work on tearing down the Spellscroll family's power from the inside."

She added, "When you succeed, you'll see the Spellscroll family fall. You can even stomp on them a few times. They'll hate you but won't be able to do a thing. They might even cling to you to survive. Then you can treat them however you want—laugh at them, toss them aside, just like they did to you."

The more Nicole listened, the more tempted she got. If she could get that kind of revenge, she was all in.

She asked, puzzled, "Why are you helping me?"

Elizabeth replied honestly, "Because I have a beef with the fortune teller behind Darlene. You know our family has an adopted daughter too. My relationship with her is like yours with Darlene; our Generational Blessings are linked. They need to steal our Generational Blessings to grow. It's all a scheme by the person behind them. So if I want revenge, I have to wreck their plans and catch him. Get it now?"

Nicole was shocked. "I'm not alone in this?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah, same here. If I hadn't met a good teacher, I'd have been sold into slavery. My childhood wasn't much better than yours." She was luckier than Nicole because she met Wayne. And the Clark family, even though they loved Brenda, hadn't been as heartless and crazy toward her.

Nicole had it way worse, and just hearing about it was heartbreaking. Elizabeth hoped Nicole could pull herself together and start a new life. Only by getting stronger could they take down the mastermind.

Nicole felt the warmth from Elizabeth's hand. It seemed to thaw her long-frozen heart a bit. She thought, 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I'm willing to trust Elizabeth this time.'

Nicole had hit rock bottom, and Elizabeth was still willing to help her up. She suddenly wanted to try and find another way out. She couldn't take direct revenge on that fortune teller, but she could help Elizabeth. At least she wouldn't drag Elizabeth down.

Nicole said with newfound determination, "Okay, I believe you. I'll listen to you. What should I do next?"
