Chapter 222 Brenda and Angela Are Sisters
The three of them just went dead quiet. Turns out, snatching their Generational Blessings was a piece of cake.
Hubert couldn't help but chuckle, "Giving her everything? You guys are a riot. When the time comes, you'll be all smiles, and Brenda will be thinking, 'These suckers are so easy to play.'"
If it wasn't for Richard slowly catching on to Brenda's true colors thanks to Elizabeth lately... If Brenda had suggested this earlier, they might've thought it was a joke and would've gone along with it, handing over their Generational Blessings.
Richard's face got even darker. "Shut up," he barked.
Then he pushed further, "But we don't even know if this Generational Blessings thing is legit. If it happens, does agreeing even count?"
Elizabeth stayed cool. "Of course, it counts. No matter how they ask, as long as you don't have a rejecting thought in your mind and you say yes, the spell to transfer the Generational Blessings kicks in. So in the future, if anyone keeps asking if they can borrow some of your luck or share in your Generational Blessings, think twice before you answer. Sometimes you think it's a joke, but it might be real. And this is just borrowing Generational Blessings; there are even nastier things like stealing life."
The three of them shuddered, all thinking the same thing: they must not agree. If it weren't for Elizabeth, who'd know about this stuff?
Richard frowned. "This method is really sneaky and deceitful. Most people wouldn't see it coming, right?" His brothers wouldn't think like this and wouldn't be on guard.
Hubert stated, "Well, I'll definitely be on guard."
He glanced at Rebecca and added, "Unless Rebecca asks me, I won't agree to anyone else." He'd always been wary around people like Angela, both in actions and words.
Kevin and Eugene fell silent, acknowledging that Hubert was playing it smart, using this as a means to showcase his loyalty.Rebecca glared at Hubert. "You make me sick, thanks!"
Elizabeth chimed in, "You make me sick too."
Hubert's sudden comment was really gross.
Their words made Richard and Eugene burst out laughing.
Richard said with disdain, "Hubert, you're really laying it on thick today."
Eugene nodded and added, "Yeah, Hubert, even I'm feeling a bit queasy from all that extra sauce you're slathering on today."Hubert was annoyed. He shouldn't have brought them today; they were just dragging him down. He cleared his throat and spoke up, "Let's get back to business."
He thought of a question and asked, "So, does that mean Eugene got away?"
Pouting, Richard looked at Eugene and asked, "We were all victims, why did Eugene manage to escape?"
Hubert teased, "Could it be because of Brenda's love for Eugene?"
The smile on Eugene's face vanished. "Shut up. What's the benefit of me being with you?" he snapped.
Hubert shrugged. "Isn't it better for everyone to suffer together?"
Richard nodded. "Yeah. But clearly, Eugene, you got away, making us jealous!"
Of course, they were just messing around. They were victims but still hoped Eugene could escape.
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow and shot back, "Who said he escaped? Don't forget, he and Rebecca are boy-girl twins. That means his birth time is the same as Angela's. He could also be a target for taking Generational Blessings. His hair and blood are definitely the same as Rebecca's, already taken and cursed together."
As for who that person was, it was definitely Amy.
She continued, "As long as he keeps helping and indulging Brenda like before, he'll end up like the Clark family brothers. If Brenda asks him for Generational Blessings and he agrees, the Generational Blessings will be transferred to Brenda."
This puzzled Hubert and Richard. They asked, "What does his birth time being the same as Angela's have to do with Brenda?"
Rebecca knew the answer and interjected, "Because they are sisters."
She asked Elizabeth, "Can they steal Generational Blessings through their blood relationship?"
Elizabeth gave her an approving look. She said, "You're smart. They have the same bloodline, and as long as a spell at birth linked them, they can complement each other. Brenda's relationship with Eugene also connects her to Angela. Angela's birth time corresponds to Eugene, so Brenda can ask Eugene for luck, and it will be granted."
Without a spell, asking for Generational Blessings wouldn't result in their removal. Otherwise, the world would be in chaos.
Hubert added, "If Eugene kept indulging Brenda like before, with Amy's demands, he'd definitely give everything to Brenda."
Eugene shot him a death glare. "Shut up, Hubert." Saying that in front of Elizabeth? How uncomfortable would that make her feel? Wouldn't it only deepen her mistrust of him? In this moment, Hubert didn't come across as a supportive brother, but more like a foe out to undermine him.
Hubert was speechless seeing Eugene's reaction. Even if he didn't say it, wouldn't Elizabeth figure it out with her intelligence? But he decided to drop it, sensing it would only worsen things for Eugene.
So Hubert changed the topic. "The people behind Brenda and Angela are really meticulous, connecting everything. It's impressive."
He couldn't deny that, despite the disgusting and vicious nature of their plans, the masterminds were indeed formidable. Their expertise in divination, manipulation, and scheming was a force to be reckoned with.
Then he suddenly realized and asked, "Wait, what do you mean Brenda and Angela are sisters? How did that come about?"
Eugene and Richard also realized. "They are sisters?"
Rebecca nodded. "Yes, exactly what you're thinking. They are half-sisters."
"And that's not all," she continued. "Percy is their brother."
Eugene, in the middle of a sip of water, spit it out in shock. "Wait, what? Percy is their brother? What is that supposed to mean?"
Rebecca pouted. "It's obvious. Percy is the son of our mom's affair with Brenda's dad."
Because Percy hadn't targeted them before, she couldn't bring herself to say the word "illegitimate."
She added, "They all have the same father but different mothers. That's why our mom only favored Percy. She treated Brenda better than us."
