Chapter 434 The Person We're Waiting for Shows Up

The next day, the Special Department grilled Aaron. He'd only taken the gig for the cash and quickly realized he'd been played. Without a second thought, Aaron spilled everything, throwing Amy under the bus and even blowing up her crimes. He pinned the attempted murder of the three Clark brothers and the targeting of Raymond and others on her.

This whole mess involved Raymond, as well as a big-time star, and a bunch of rich heirs, and with Aaron being from Eldoria, it was a big deal. They couldn't just take Aaron's word for it; they needed solid proof to make any arrests, especially since Aaron was from another country. So, the Special Department was busy checking the facts, and Leander was quietly spreading the word.

Ethan told Leander not to cover for Amy because it was a lost cause. Amy's actions were too obvious, and Aaron had proof of their contact. But they needed to drag out the verification process as long as possible. Ideally, they could find a way to off Aaron and pin it on Elizabeth.

This way, they could force the grand evil wizard from Eldoria to go after Elizabeth and maybe use this to lighten Amy's sentence and take down Leander's enemies at the same time.

Leander thought the task was tough, but he didn't say no. He was figuring out how to make Aaron "accidentally" die in custody and blame it on Alaric and Elizabeth.

Alaric was keeping tabs on everything, so he knew about Leander's sneaky moves.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth found out that the little Aether Serpent not only loved munching on poisonous bugs with evil magic but also liked soaking up evil energy. She took the little Aether Serpent to the hospital and put it in Percy and Ryan's room.

The evil energy around them had faded a lot, a process that would have normally taken forty-nine days. But with the little Aether Serpent, the time could be cut in half, or even more.

Elizabeth didn't tell anyone about the little Aether Serpent. So, she visited Percy and Ryan every day, using it as an excuse to see the little Aether Serpent and brought it a small energy stone. After feeding the little Aether Serpent, it had just snuggled into Percy's blanket when Alaric knocked and came in.

Seeing the two on the bed, Alaric noticed they were getting better every day. "Elizabeth, thanks a ton," he said with a grateful smile.

Elizabeth smiled back, "No problem."

Then she asked, "What's up with Aaron?"

Alaric lowered his voice, "I came to talk to you about that. I found out that Leander and his crew are stalling the verification process. And they're hanging around where Aaron lives, not sure what they're planning. Something's off."

Elizabeth quickly caught on. "They might be trying to kill him and pin it on us," she guessed. Ethan wasn't giving up, wanting to use the grand evil wizard to go after her.

Alaric asked, worried, "Should we try to speed up the verification process?"

Elizabeth shook her head, "No need, let them drag it out. We can use this to flush out the people behind it. But make sure Aaron stays safe; don't let him actually get killed. You can pretend to be Leander's crew and act like you want to kill him. Also, give him a chance to contact the outside world once."

She had cut out the part of the video where she talked to Aaron, so Ethan probably didn't know she had cleared things up with him. Now, she needed Aaron to reach out to his mentor and complain about being set up.

She had anticipated Ethan would use framing tactics, so she planned to turn the tables on him. Once Aaron contacted his mentor and explained how they were set up, she would find a chance to activate the curse on Aaron and then pin it on Ethan.

Alaric figured Elizabeth already had a plan. He nodded, "Got it. I'll set it up like you said. And I'll make sure Aaron stays alive."

Elizabeth knew Alaric had plenty of tricks up his sleeve, but to be extra cautious, she handed him a gemstone amulet and said, "Give this to him. Tell him to be careful and stay alive."

Keeping Aaron alive was key to the plan, so Elizabeth didn't hesitate to give him a protective amulet. Given Ethan's nasty and ruthless nature, Aaron would definitely need it. It would also show that she was protecting him while their enemy wanted him dead. The more Aaron hated Ethan, the fiercer the future battles would be.

Alaric nodded. "Okay!" He knew how important Aaron was and took the gemstone amulet. They discussed the next steps.

Elizabeth's phone suddenly rang. She looked at it and saw it was Leon. She answered, "Leon, has the person we're waiting for shown up?"

Leon replied, "Yes, you really are a prophet. Betty contacted me today, saying she found a very powerful divination master for Zephyr. If we agree, she can bring the divination master this afternoon to cure Zephyr's poison."

Elizabeth asked, "Did she say who it is?"

Leon said, "I asked, but she was very secretive, implying that the divination master has a very unusual identity. Elizabeth, what should we do? Should we meet the divination master this afternoon?"

Elizabeth said, "Of course, we need to confirm his identity. If he wants to cure Zephyr's poison, ask him what he wants in return. He must be after something from your family. So he should directly state his price. Don't agree right away. If it's something the family doesn't have, say you'll look for it. If it's something the family has, say you need to think about it."

Leon trusted Elizabeth more than Betty. He agreed without hesitation. "Okay, I'll follow your lead. By the way, should we install a camera in the room so you can see what's happening this afternoon?"

Elizabeth shook her head, "No need, that person will definitely notice. Don't overdo it. Just follow the plan, and don't expose yourselves."

She thought for a moment and added, "If the person is very pushy or keeps trying to persuade you to cure Zephyr's poison immediately, say you want to hear my opinion. After all, I was the one who discovered the poison on Zephyr. This way, I have an excuse to come to the hospital and meet the person. If they don't push and can wait for your decision, then there's no need for me to go."

She also wanted to know if Ethan was in a hurry to get something from the Anderson family.

Leon answered, "Got it!"
