Chapter 7

Even with the sunglasses covering most of his face, his high nose and well-defined features made it clear he was quite handsome.

Elizabeth, having watched the beginning of this variety show in her past life, already knew who this mysterious guest was.

Raymond Gonzalez!

He was born into the top-tier elite family of Clifftonshireburg, far surpassing families like the Clarks.

He was also the previous year's e-sports champion and a super popular game streamer, known to his fans as Raymond the Great.

Due to a hand injury, he retired from e-sports after winning the world championship and ventured into the entertainment industry.

With millions of fans from the e-sports world, his cool and handsome looks, and his strong singing and dancing skills, Raymond became the most popular star in just over a year.

Elizabeth remembered Raymond well because he was the only man who didn't like Brenda and had even openly insulted her.

Seeing Raymond, the other guests were even more surprised than when they saw Eugene.

Raymond's reputation in the entertainment industry was well-known. His flamboyant and unrestrained style meant that when he was unhappy, he didn't care about anyone's feelings, and he was quite sharp-tongued.

But because of his powerful background, even if someone had an issue with him, they didn't dare to offend him.

Moreover, Raymond's fans were not only rational but also fiercely protective of him, as sharp-tongued as he was.

Everyone inwardly groaned, thinking that if Raymond was difficult to get along with during the live broadcast, they wouldn't dare to offend him.

Kevin's face darkened when he saw Raymond get out of the car. He and Raymond had never gotten along and always found each other disagreeable.

Brenda was also surprised to see Raymond. Arthur and the production team had kept the information too tight, and she hadn't found out that the other mysterious guest was Raymond.

Brenda couldn't help but tighten her grip on her dress, thinking of Raymond's usual indifferent attitude towards her and his formidable background.

Raymond's participation in this show was a good thing; she would make him see her worth and fall for her.

Raymond walked in, and everyone greeted him.

Even though Kevin didn't get along with Raymond, he wasn't about to disrespect him on live TV, so he said hello too.

With all the guests present, Arthur stepped up and started talking.

"Welcome, everyone, to the live reality show—From Zero."

"You'll be staying here for a week, showing your daily lives to the audience through live streaming."

"The production team will only provide housing, kitchenware, and tools."

"Beyond that, it's all on you."
Kevin had never done a reality show before. He couldn't help but ask, "How are we supposed to manage on our own? Can we use our own money?"

Arthur looked at him like he was clueless. "Of course, you can't use your own money."

"Your phones will also be temporarily taken by the production team, and you'll each get a new one."

He shrugged. "How you live? That's up to you."

Ronald asked, "What kind of tools will you provide?"

Arthur replied, "We'll give you whatever auxiliary tools you need."

He continued, "For example, if you want to catch fish, we can provide nets or fishing rods. If you want to chop wood, we can provide axes."

"Starting from zero mainly means figuring out how to live without money."

Arthur suggested, "For food and drink, you can trade with the villagers."

"Or you can ask the villagers if they need any help and exchange your labor for food."

With Arthur's explanation, the guests got the picture.

Arthur had his assistant bring over eight lockboxes with names on them.

"Alright, now please hand over your phones."

"Put your phones in the corresponding boxes. The initial password is six zeros. You can set your own password."

"At the end of this episode, you can open the box and get your phone back."

This was to protect the guests' privacy and ensure the production team wouldn't mess with their phones.

Raymond, puzzled, asked, "Since you're giving us new phones, why can't we use our own?"

Arthur explained, "The new phones are configured to prevent internet access."

"Each new phone has a temporary chat app installed."

"The production team has added each of you as friends and created a group chat with just the eight of you for easy communication."

The guests understood Arthur's intention. This was to prevent them from checking their live broadcast performance and audience reactions during the recording.

Each guest was then given a new phone sponsored by a brand.

Arthur asked, "Any other questions?"

"If not, I'll take you to your accommodation."

The guests shook their heads. "No problem."

So Arthur led everyone along a mountain path. "The place you'll be staying is up the mountain. The path isn't easy, so be careful."

Seeing that they had to walk and it was a mountain path, Brenda's expression changed slightly. Her outfit was not suitable for hiking.

Before coming, Richard had told her to dress like Brenda.

He wanted the audience's first impression of her to be deeply ingrained as Brenda, so she dressed this way. She hadn't expected the recording location to be on a mountain.

Brenda naturally wouldn't say this in front of the live audience. Instead, she lifted her skirt and followed everyone.

While going uphill, she pretended to twist her ankle and leaned towards Kevin.

Kevin immediately reached out to support her. "Brenda, are you okay?"

Brenda shook her head. "I'm fine. It's just that my shoes aren't suitable for hiking."

Kevin frowned and asked Arthur, "Arthur, can't we drive into the village?"
