Chapter 424 Let the Bad Guys Handle It First

A tiny snake, red as a ruby, popped out of its eggshell. It was all red too, but no wings. First thing it did was munch on the eggshell, then it opened its eyes. Those eyes were jet black and shiny, full of life.

Elizabeth saw it right away and felt this intermediate-level aura coming from it. That meant it had some smarts. The first thing the little snake saw was Elizabeth, so it thought she was its mom. It snuggled up to her hand, even climbed onto her backpack, rubbing against it non-stop.

Elizabeth figured out it was after the energy stones in her bag. So she pulled one out, crushed it, and put a small piece in her palm.

The little snake rubbed her hand first, then gulped down the energy stone in one go. It even let out a tiny burp, like a human. Then it slithered to her wrist, coiled up, and fit perfectly around it. If it didn't poke its head out, it looked just like a ruby bracelet.

Elizabeth was smitten with the little snake right away. It was destiny.

She climbed back up the cliff with her backpack and wooden box, retracing her steps. Just as she was about to reach the campsite, she heard some screams. She hurried over and saw bugs crawling all over the place near their tent.

The ones screaming were Rebecca and Nancy. Raymond and a few others were behind them, trying to protect them. They stood at the tent entrance, holding whatever they could find for defense.

Before they split up for the night, Elizabeth had told them not to leave the tent if anything weird happened. They noticed the Spellscrolls stuck on the tent and saw that the bugs would circle the entrance but couldn't get in. That was definitely Elizabeth's doing, which made them feel a bit better. But they were still worried about where Elizabeth was.

Hubert and the others were outside the tent, swinging stuff around like crazy. Bugs were all over them, and their skin was covered in bite marks. They saw the bugs couldn't get into the tent, so they tried to hide inside for safety.

Who would've thought the bugs couldn't get in, but neither could they? Some invisible force kept them out at the entrance. They felt pretty bitter, thinking Elizabeth was really harsh!

Even though they were getting bitten, Hubert and Eugene stayed at the tent entrance, swatting at the bugs. It was clear they wanted to protect Rebecca.

The three brothers felt miserable, unable to show off without Elizabeth. But they still joined in, not sure what else to do. Running away in the dark seemed even more dangerous. Being around others felt safer. Plus, Rebecca and the others were Elizabeth's friends. If she came back and found out they had bailed, it would look really bad.

They just had to tough it out, cursing Hubert and Eugene in their heads. It was all because of those two that they were in this mess.

Elizabeth noticed the other tents were quiet, no one getting up or screaming. They must've been put to sleep temporarily, but they were okay.

She also spotted a shadow lurking under a big tree in front of the tent. So, Elizabeth didn't rush out. She hid her aura and pulled out her phone to start recording in night mode. Let the bad guys handle it first.

This time, besides dealing with the evil wizard, Elizabeth decided to send Amy to prison. Then they'd see if Amy's beloved Ethan would come to her rescue.

Elizabeth guessed he wouldn't, so Amy would suffer both physically and mentally.

After a while, the person under the tree got impatient and finally stepped out.

This caught Hubert and the others' attention.

Richard shouted, "Are you the evil wizard Aaron Hill, who hurt my mom? Did you send these bugs?"

One look at Aaron and it was clear he was from Eldoria. When bugs poisoned Betty, Paul had found info on Aaron, including a photo. The three brothers had seen it and recognized him.

Aaron wasn't scared of being recognized. He asked grimly, "Where is Elizabeth?" He had heard Elizabeth was on this mountain, so he came to deal with her. Who would've thought that after releasing so many poisonous bugs, he still hadn't seen a trace of her?

Raymond's heart sank when he heard him ask, but he also felt relieved. It seemed Elizabeth hadn't run into Aaron and was probably safe. He said, "Elizabeth had something to do and went back to Clifftonshireburg. You're too late."

Aaron sneered, "You think I'll buy that? You're all still here; how could she have left?" Then he threatened, "If you don't tell me where Elizabeth is, I'll kill you all."

Raymond also sneered, "Believe it or not, Elizabeth did go back. Killing us won't change that. And this is our country. Our identities are special. If you dare to kill us, the Divination Association and the Special Department will come after you." He had an expression that said, "Do whatever you want; we aren't afraid."

Raymond was ready to stick to the story that Elizabeth had gone back to Clifftonshireburg, even if it meant getting killed. He couldn't let Aaron go into the mountains to find her.

The others stayed quiet after hearing Raymond's words. They didn't know where Elizabeth had gone, and even if they did, they wouldn't betray her. Plus, they believed Aaron wouldn't dare kill them all.

Otherwise, Aaron wouldn't be able to escape back to Eldoria, or even if he did, their families wouldn't let him go.

They weren't ordinary people; their families wouldn't let it slide if something happened. Especially Raymond, whose grandfather was a big shot. His family members were all influential, and he was the most favored.

If something happened to Raymond, the Gonzalez Family would never let Aaron off.

Aaron's expression shifted; he was indeed under threat. Killing one or two people didn't bother him. However, killing all of them, especially Raymond, would cause significant trouble. Even his mentor wouldn't be able to protect him.

Aaron replied coldly, "Mrs. Baker paid me to deal with Elizabeth. If anything happens to you, it's her responsibility. Since you're so stubborn, let my poisonous bugs make you talk."

He took out a whistle and blew it. More bugs appeared around them. This time, there were also many poisonous snakes and centipedes, all meticulously bred by him. The sight of these creatures made Hubert and the others' scalps tingle and their limbs go weak. They cursed Amy in their hearts.
