Chapter 10 Annoyance

Upon seeing the recording Abigail sent, Tricia finally learned that Roman had long been sleeping with Jessica.

She was furious.

"Damn it! This despicable scumbag is truly shameless! We must teach him a lesson. Abigail, why don't you go to Grace for support? Otherwise, Roman will really think he can bully you at will!"

As Abigail's best friend, Tricia knew better than anyone that the White family secured this engagement.

Back then, the Martin family was growing rapidly, and their wealth even surpassed the current top-tier aristocratic White family.

Although Michelle and Grace had a significant age difference, they were very close friends.

Abigail and Roman were about the same age and knew each other well, so they agreed to the engagement.

Now that Roman dared to bully Abigail brazenly, Tricia felt it was because the Martin family was beginning to decline, and Abigail no longer had Michelle's protection.

Upon hearing her mention Grace, Abigail felt a little guilty. "I will handle this."

Grace loved her dearly and always treated her like a granddaughter.

That's why Abigail didn't dare mention her marriage to Gregory, fearing that Grace wouldn't be able to accept it.

On the other end of the phone, Tricia was seething with anger, grinding her teeth. She wished she could tear this scumbag Roman apart right away.

Frustrated, she said, "Abigail, it's because you're too soft-hearted that they dare to bully you. This time, listen to me. You absolutely cannot let him get away with it!"
Abigail felt a warm feeling in her heart when she heard Tricia speaking up for her. She found it amusing and asked, "So, what do you think I should do then?"

Tricia replied boldly, "If he dares to betray you, then you should betray him too. Find a man who is a thousand times better than him. This man should preferably have power, the kind that can crush Roman!"

Abigail hesitated for a moment, feeling a bit embarrassed, and said, "Tricia, there's something I need to tell you. Actually, I'm already married."

"What? You're married. Are you joking with me?" Tricia exclaimed, standing up abruptly from her chair at the nail salon, startling the staff.

She was so shocked that she didn't even pay attention to the scratch the trembling technician accidentally left on her nails.

The nervous staff held her breath, afraid that Tricia would cause trouble for her.

Luckily, Tricia didn't pay any attention to her and just paid for her nail service before leaving the salon.

Abigail glanced at the focused driver, and a faint blush appeared on her cheeks.

Being in front of a stranger, she found it difficult to speak about such personal matters.

So, she said, "This is something that can't be explained in a few sentences. I'll tell you another day."

"Don't wait until another day. Just tell me today. Let's meet at Nightfall Bar. I'll be waiting for you there," Tricia, being impatient, decided on the meeting place.

She got out of the nail salon and hailed a taxi directly to the bar.

Meanwhile, Abigail looked at the disconnected phone with a hint of helplessness.

If she had known that Tricia would react so strongly, she would have waited to tell her later.

Now, she had no choice but to instruct the driver to turn around and head towards Nightfall Bar.

Half an hour later, the driver parked the car in front of the bar.

Abigail got out of the car and showed proof of her membership to the staff guarding the entrance.

Their attitude immediately became respectful as they greeted her and made a gesture of 'please.'

Nightfall Bar was the largest bar in Aramore. It was not only a bar but also an entertainment club where wealthy people squandered their money.

It operated on a membership system, so ordinary people couldn't enter even if they had money.

After entering, Abigail looked around and spotted Tricia sitting at the bar, drinking.

Tricia also saw Abigail and waved at her with a smile.

She had a stunning appearance. She was wearing a black mini-skirt, which contrasted with her fair skin. Her long, wavy hair fell casually over her shoulders, and every move she made was charming.

Abigail smiled slightly and walked over.

Before she could say anything, Tricia hugged her neck and threatened, "Abigail, you better confess quickly, or you'll be in trouble. Come on, spill the beans. You're married; what's the deal with that?"
Abigail pondered for a moment before slowly answering, "Last night, I signed a marriage agreement with Gregory."

"Who? Gregory?" Tricia couldn't believe it and nearly jumped out of her chair. She thought, "Is it the Gregory I'm thinking of? The head of the White family, Roman's uncle, Gregory?"

Abigail nodded gently. "Yes, him."

Tricia remained stunned for a long time before slowly coming back to her senses. She picked up the glass of wine in front of her and drank it all in one gulp. It still wasn't enough, so she asked the bartender for another glass and downed it in one go.

The sharp liquor went down her throat, the taste of alcohol permeating her mouth. Finally, she regained some semblance of sanity.

Abigail tried to stop her but was interrupted, "Don't talk for now. I need to calm down."

Abigail felt helpless and amused, so she ordered a drink for herself. She hadn't fully accepted that she was married, let alone to Gregory. The person who was usually so aloof and distant had suddenly become her husband.

Abigail couldn't quite put into words how she felt about it, but she sensed a subtle shift.

After consuming several glasses of alcohol, Tricia finally calmed down. She grabbed Abigail's shoulders, turned her to face her, and asked, "Say it again. Did you really marry Gregory?"

Abigail earnestly replied, "Actually, we can't exactly call it a marriage. We just signed a marriage agreement. We haven't obtained a marriage license yet, but legally, the agreement is still valid."

Tricia squinted her eyes slightly, examined Abigail up and down, and then slapped her shoulder.

"Abigail, I didn't know you were so cool!"

Abigail sat at the bar, propping up her chin, lost in thought. "Actually, it was just a moment of impulsiveness. I signed without really thinking it through. I don't even know if it's right or wrong."

She didn't necessarily have to marry into the White family. She just lost her temper because of Roman and Jessica, and the conditions Gregory offered were too tempting for Abigail to resist, so she agreed.

Therefore, every time she thinks about Gregory now, she feels like she's been deceived.

But Tricia was very happy. "Well done! From now on, you're the elder of that despicable scumbag Roman. How delightful, isn't it?"

As she spoke, Tricia felt that something was off and asked, "But why did Gregory choose you? Could it be that he had liked you for a long time?"
"This is impossible!" Abigail shook her head decisively. "I am Roman's fiancée, and we haven't talked much before."

She wondered, "Does Gregory like me? How is that possible?"

Tricia suddenly flashed a sly smile.

"Why is it impossible? Maybe he deliberately avoided you because he liked you. Otherwise, why would he happen to be there when you exposed Roman's affair? You were his nephew's ex-fiancée, but why did he choose to marry you?"

Tricia thought, "Gregory is falling for his nephew's ex-fiancée. Isn't that exciting? Only Abigail, the fool, would believe his lies about looking for a marriage partner. But I have no intention of telling her these things. Knowing her, if she found out Gregory liked her, she would definitely try to keep her distance from him, right? If I end up causing her to miss out on a good marriage, that would be a big sin for me."

Her question stumped Abigail.

She thought, "Yeah, Gregory is wealthy and powerful. He can have any woman he wants. So why would he burden himself with the accusation of 'stealing his nephew's fiancée' by pursuing me?"
