Chapter 100 Bros Before Hoes

Gregory was in a great mood all day thanks to that morning kiss. Even when his team messed up in meetings or got the report data wrong, he didn't get mad. He just smiled and said, "Be careful next time."

He thought he was being nice, but his unusual behavior freaked everyone out.

The whole company was on edge. Even the usual gossipers were working seriously. They thought Gregory was setting a trap, waiting for them to slip up.

Their behavior was so obvious that even Gregory noticed. He was surprised to see everyone being extra cautious, greeting him quickly and then rushing off.

Curious, he asked Leo, "Do I look scary today?"

Leo quickly shook his head, "No, Mr. White, you look as handsome and charming as always."

Gregory replied, "Enough with the flattery. Is your work done?"

Leo nodded and left.

Just before the end of the day, Gregory got a call from Henry.

"Gregory, come out for a drink. Last time with Abigail's matter, we didn't have enough fun. This time it's just the three of us at Nightfall Bar. Are you coming?" Henry said.

Gregory frowned and said, "No, I need to go home to my wife. I don't have time."

Henry felt hurt, "What happened to 'bros before hoes?' Are we not your best friends anymore?"

Gregory stayed firm, "Of course Abigail is more important. Anything else? If not, I'm hanging up."

He needed to finish work and get home to Abigail.

His friends? They weren't as important as Abigail.

He wondered if Abigail missed him. It had only been ten hours, but he missed her a lot.

Luckily, he had a photo of her in his office for some comfort.

Henry, feeling fed up with Gregory's love talk, grumbled, "Are you still my best friend, Gregory? Are you really putting love above friendship? Get over here right now!" Then he hung up quickly, not wanting to hear more.

Gregory tossed his phone aside and kept working, feeling no guilt about ignoring his friends.

When Leo brought in the completed report, Gregory asked, "Leo, have you ever been in a relationship?"

Leo shook his head and smiled bitterly, "Mr. White, do you know how much work I have? I haven't had time or energy for a relationship since I started working."

He sighed, touching his still thick hair.

But seeing Gregory's thoughtful look, he asked, "Mr. White, is something on your mind?"

Gregory glanced at him and shook his head, "You don't have a girlfriend, so you probably can't help."

Leo, curious, asked, "Does it have something to do with Mrs. White?"

Gregory's expression stiffened for a moment, then he nodded.

Leo immediately understood. Only Abigail could make Gregory act like this.

"Mr. White, why don't you tell me? Maybe I can help," Leo offered.

Gregory thought about it and then asked, "I want to give Abigail a gift. What should I get her?"

Leo thought for a moment and asked, "Is there any special occasion?"

Seeing Gregory's confused look, he quickly added, "Like a birthday, Valentine's Day, or anniversary. Couples usually give gifts on those days."

Gregory shook his head, "No special occasion, just want to give her something."

He was never the romantic type and didn't care much for those holidays. For him, it was all about work—day in, day out, monotonous and boring.

But since marrying Abigail, everything changed. His once black-and-white world, filled with schemes and calculations, now had color.

As a child, he wondered why he was born. What was the point of his existence? Then Abigail came along, bringing sweetness into his life. She used to call him "Greg." Later, it became "Mr. White," and she drifted away, making his world dull again.

But now, things were better. He wanted to hold on to this happiness and do something for their marriage. He wanted to make her happy.

Leo, knowing how special Abigail was to Gregory, thought seriously and said, "Girls usually like jewelry, makeup, bags, branded shoes, and clothes."

Gregory snorted, "We have plenty of jewelry at home, and she doesn't wear them often."

Leo then asked, "Mr. White, have you bought Mrs. White a wedding ring yet?"

Gregory was stunned and felt annoyed. He had forgotten something so important.

The White Group had a top-notch jewelry brand, with many celebrities endorsing it.

He instructed Leo, "Find the best designer and have them create a unique custom diamond ring. I'll send you the requirements shortly."

"Yes," Leo nodded and was about to head off to find the designer.

But Gregory called him back, "Wait, keep this a secret from Mrs. White. I want to surprise her."

Leo nodded. "Don't worry, Mr. White, I won't tell her!"

Satisfied, Gregory waved him off.

By the time he finished work, it was already 7:30 PM.

He organized his documents and drove to Nightfall Bar to find Henry and the others.

Even though he said he wouldn't go earlier, Gregory still wanted to share his joy with someone.
