Chapter 353 Mom, He Scolded Me

Caius quickly looked at Michelle, only to see Michelle looking at him with disapproval.

"Caius, how old are you? Why are you still bullying young people?"

"I didn't." Caius felt wronged and glared at Abigail again.

How could this mischievous Abigail be as cunning as David?

Seeing Michelle support her, Abigail felt a warm current flow through her heart.

"Thank you, Aunt Michelle, you're so good to me."

Abigail clung to Michelle's arm, her sweet voice melting Michelle's heart. How could a girl be so adorable? If she had a daughter, she'd be just like Abigail.

But poor health had kept her from having children, and Michelle's tender gaze only fueled Caius's anger.

"Michelle, don't be fooled by her. She's not a good person at all, and there are plenty of people in this world who look alike. I think they're just trying to get close to you on purpose."

Michelle gave him a disapproving look. "Caius, how can you say that? You always didn't let me interact with people before, and now you won't even let me get close to someone I like. Do you want me to be completely cut off from society, with no one to rely on?"

Caius panicked and quickly shook his head. "No, I'm worried that someone might deliberately get close to you to hurt you. I'm doing all this to protect you."

Michelle sighed softly. "I know, but your protection only makes me feel stifled, like I can't breathe."

Over the years, Michelle had few friends because Caius always kept her from going out. She knew he meant well, but she was still a person. What kind of life was it without the freedom to choose her own friends?

Caius opened his mouth to speak, but when he met Michelle's gaze, he swallowed his words.

After a ten-second pause, he finally spoke, "Michelle, I won't stop you from making friends anymore, but not them. They have bad intentions and don't deserve to be your friends."

Hearing this, Abigail fearfully snuggled into Michelle's arms. "Mr. Worthington is so fierce, I'm so scared. Aunt Michelle, does he really restrict your freedom? He's too selfish and doesn't deserve you at all!"

Caius said, "Abigail, shut up!"

"See, he's being mean to me again."

Michelle smelled so nice; Abigail wanted to hug her a little longer!

So happy!

Michelle gently patted Abigail's little head to comfort her, "Don't be afraid, I'm here. He won't dare do anything to you."

Once Abigail calmed down, Michelle looked up at Caius. "Caius, I really like Abigail. I plan to adopt her as my daughter. From now on, she's your daughter too, so you can't be so mean."

What if her sweet and soft Abigail got scared away?

Caius took a deep breath, stepped aside, and stayed silent. He realized how adept Abigail was at deception. With a few words, she had Michelle treating her like a daughter. Opposing her now would upset Michelle and risk Abigail revealing Michelle's true identity, undoing years of his work.

Understanding this, Caius slowly exhaled and forced a stiff smile.

"Michelle, I have no objection to you adopting her. Don't be angry, take care of your health."

Abigail looked at Caius in surprise, thinking he would strongly oppose it, but he agreed so quickly?

Was this an unexpected surprise?

Coming here not only brought her closer to Michelle but also successfully got back at Caius!

So happy!

Having been out for a while, Michelle's legs began to ache, and her body felt weak.

Seeing this, Caius quickly stepped forward, held her, and picked her up. "You know you're weak, why do you still push yourself so hard?"

Michelle wrapped her arms around his neck, leaned into his embrace, and smiled sheepishly. "I just like Abigail so much, I forgot for a moment."

Saying this, she quickly looked at Abigail and Gregory. "I originally wanted to invite you to dinner, but it seems I can't today."

Abigail smiled and shook her head, speaking with concern, "It's okay, Mom, you rest well. I'll come see you tomorrow."

Since Michelle said she wanted to adopt Abigail, Abigail immediately changed how she addressed her.

Being able to openly call her "Mom," Abigail couldn't contain her joy.

Michelle's delicate eyebrows relaxed, revealing a gentle smile. "Okay, I'll be waiting for you."

On the way back, Abigail's excitement still hadn't subsided.

She sat in the passenger seat, happily humming a tune, her joy unmistakable.

Seeing her so happy, a slight smile appeared on Gregory's usually stern face.

"So happy?"

"Of course, even though Mom doesn't remember who I am, she still likes me as much as before!"

Abigail cupped her cheeks, already imagining the wonderful times she would have with Michelle in the future.

But Gregory thought of another question, "Mom doesn't remember you, what's going on?"

Abigail shook her head and couldn't help but sigh. "I don't know either. Let's ask Quinn when we get back; maybe he knows something."

However, when Gregory and Abigail got home, they found that Quinn wasn't there.

Henry looked at them in surprise. "Quinn was worried you might be in trouble at Caius's place, so he went to find you. Didn't you see him?"

Abigail and Gregory exchanged a glance and shook their heads.
