Chapter 261 The Little Assistant is Quite Interesting
The girl looked anxious, nervously clasping her hands together, and called out, "Ms. Martin."
"What's the matter?" Abigail responded indifferently, her head lowered, not looking at her.
The girl became even more uneasy, her legs trembling uncontrollably. "Ms. Martin, it wasn't me. You have to believe me, it definitely wasn't me."
Abigail finally lifted her gaze slightly, her cold, emotionless eyes falling on her. "But how come I heard you were the last one to leave last night?"
At these words, the girl's face instantly turned pale.
She hurriedly waved her hands, her voice trembling. "I was indeed the last one to leave, but I really didn't do such a thing."
Seeing her so nervous, Abigail softly reassured her, "Don't worry, I would never wrong a good person. Can you tell me if you noticed anything unusual last night?"
Her voice was clear and gentle, as if it had a calming power.
The girl suddenly felt less nervous and quickly began to recall what had happened last night.
Half an hour later, Susan knocked on the office door and walked in. "Ms. Martin, the tech department can't recover the deleted surveillance footage."
Abigail nodded and waved her hand at the anxious girl, signaling her to leave first.
After the girl left, Susan tentatively asked, "Ms. Martin, who do you think did it?"
Abigail lifted her eyelids, glanced at her, and slowly shook her head. "We don't have any leads yet. Let's wait a bit longer."
Susan nodded and then left the office. She was lost in thought and missed the complex gaze behind her.
When Gregory heard about the incident at DM, he immediately called Abigail, his tone filled with undisguised concern. "Abigail, are you okay?"
Abigail's lips curved slightly, and her previously gloomy and irritable mood eased a bit. "I'm fine, Mr. White. I was just about to call you."
Hearing this, Gregory quietly breathed a sigh of relief—'As long as she's okay.'
When Gregory heard the news, he was very nervous, afraid that Abigail wouldn't be able to handle it.
But Abigail was no longer the naive girl she used to be. She could completely handle things on her own.
Gregory felt a surge of uncontrollable pride and said, "If you need any help, just let me know. I still have some influence in Aramore."
Abigail laughed. If it were really just "some," then no one in Aramore could match the power those words represented.
"Thank you, honey. I actually have something I want you to help me investigate," said Abigail.
"What is it?" Gregory asked.
Abigail deliberately lowered her voice and explained what she wanted to investigate.
Gregory's handsome face instantly darkened, exuding a cold and fierce aura. "I'll take care of it. Don't look at any online news for now. I'll come pick you up after work."
"Okay." Abigail fully felt Gregory's concern, and a sweet feeling spread in her heart.
After hanging up the phone, Abigail leaned back in her office chair, her gaze gradually turning cold.
She hoped the truth wasn't what she thought.
However, when the real results came out, Abigail was completely disappointed.
She stared at the file sent to her email for a full half hour.
She never expected that the person she trusted the most, Susan, had such a deep background.
David's secret lover, pregnant with David's child, living in a luxurious villa David had given her.
And she even had financial dealings with Roman.
Abigail looked at the bank account transfer records and pursed her lips.
If she remembered correctly, this was the time when she and Tom were filmed and the video was posted online.
Even the leak of the design drafts this time had her involvement.
No wonder she always felt that Susan's eyes flashed with a complex look when facing her.
No wonder she was happier than her when she heard Jessica was put in jail.
Everything connected and had a reasonable explanation.
Abigail took a deep breath and called Gregory again. "Mr. White, can you find me a skilled hacker, as soon as possible?"
Gregory didn't ask much, just said, "Okay."
Ten minutes later, Leo arrived directly at DM Group.
Abigail looked at him in surprise, "Just you?"
Leo raised his hand to touch his face and asked, "Mrs. White, you seem disappointed?"
Abigail chuckled and shook her head. "Finding a skilled hacker within today is indeed a bit difficult."
Leo suddenly laughed, looking a bit proud. "It's not difficult. Whatever Mrs. White needs, just let me know."
Abigail was stunned for a moment, then realized that it wasn't that they couldn't find a hacker, but rather...
She exclaimed, "I didn't expect, Leo, that you're so skilled!"
Leo, a bit embarrassed by the compliment, scratched his head and said modestly, "Not that skilled, just learned a bit in my spare time."
Abigail quickly explained what she needed him to do and asked, "Can you do it?"
Leo sat in front of the computer, looking relaxed. "Very simple."
With that, his fingers quickly tapped on the keyboard.
Lines of code ran rapidly on the computer screen, making people a bit dizzy.
In less than ten minutes, Leo pressed the Enter key. "Done. The IP address of the first person who posted the video has been traced. Mrs. White, take a look."
Abigail stared at the location shown in the video for a while, then used the internal phone to call Lily.
"I remember the company arranged physical exams for all employees last month. Bring me the forms they filled out."
Lily was very puzzled when she received the message.
She didn't understand why Abigail suddenly wanted the physical exam forms, but knowing she shouldn't ask, she immediately went to find them.
After finding them, she took them to the office and handed them to Abigail.
To her surprise, besides Abigail, there was also a handsome man in the office.
While she was staring at Leo in a daze, Abigail's cold voice came, "Put it on the table and leave. Don't tell anyone about this for now, understand?"
This was the first time Lily had seen such a serious expression on Abigail's face, and she was startled.
Her face turned pale, and she stammered, "Understood."
"Mrs. White, your assistant is quite cute." Leo couldn't help but laugh as he watched Lily, who looked like a frightened little rabbit, quickly run away.
Hearing this, Abigail's expression softened a bit, and a faint smile appeared on her lips. "Yes, Lily may not be very capable, but she is very diligent and responsible."
After a pause, she suddenly realized something was off and looked at Leo suspiciously. "What? Do you like Lily?"
