Chapter 401 Going to Aramore
Staring at the car speeding away, Jessica stomped her foot hard, a trace of malice flashing across her face.
She originally just wanted some money, but since Michelle wasn't cooperating, she wouldn't be polite about it!
In the car, the driver , Dwayne Larson, glanced at Michelle in the back seat, his tone heavy. "That girl clearly has bad intentions. She's probably trying to get close to you to climb up to the Worthington family. You mustn't fall for it!"
"Don't worry, I won't." Michelle smiled at the driver and turned to look out the window.
Even without Abigail's reminder, Michelle was naturally cautious about trusting others. Despite her reclusive lifestyle, she was far from naive. Many had tried to uncover her background and buy information about her to get close to Caius. She had encountered such people many times before.
Jessica, naive and unable to hide her emotions, revealed her intentions within minutes.
Michelle sighed inwardly and instructed Dwayne, "Dwayne, help me investigate that girl's background. I'm afraid she might be a threat to Abigail."
She always felt that the girl just now was not a good person.
If Abigail really got into some trouble, as a mother, she absolutely couldn't sit idly by.
"Okay, I'll start investigating as soon as we get back." Dwayne said, quickly turning the steering wheel to head back. "By the way, should we tell Caius about this?"
"Not for now, it's just a small matter, no need to bother him." Michelle didn't want him to worry about these things while he was still sick.
When they arrived home, Caius was furious because he couldn't find Michelle. The villa's living room was eerily silent; the servants and bodyguards barely dared to breathe.
Caius's cold voice echoed through the stillness. "What did I tell you before? No matter where Michelle goes, you must report to me immediately. And now? You don't even know where she went!"
Standing outside the living room, Michelle heard him and felt a twinge of helplessness. She had only been gone a short while, yet he was already in a frenzy. The irony amused her, and she couldn't help but chuckle softly.
Hearing the noise at the door, Caius turned his head sharply. Seeing Michelle return, he couldn't stay angry and quickly got up to walk towards her.
Before Michelle could say anything, she was tightly embraced.
A deep, slightly aggrieved voice sounded in her ear. "Where did you go? I woke up and couldn't find you."
Michelle gently patted his back and said with a smile, "We ran out of herbs at home, so I went out to buy some. You're such a grown man, yet you cling like a child."
Caius held her tightly, almost like he was pouting. "No matter how old I am, I only know that you're my wife, and I can't bear to have you out of my sight."
He knew Michelle stayed home due to her fragile health. The Michelle he remembered was talented, independent, and composed. He feared she might revert to her old self and leave him.
She said, "Alright, don't let everyone see us making a scene. Are you still running a fever?"
Caius lowered his head, and Michelle's touch confirmed his normal temperature, prompting a satisfied smile. "Not bad, the fever has completely gone down."
Caius held Michelle's hand, trying to please her. "I'm strong, no illness can bring me down."
Michelle put away the herbs, leaned into Caius's arms, and suddenly said, "Caius, I miss Abigail. Can we go to Aramore to see her?"
Caius's body stiffened. "Why did you suddenly think of going to Aramore?"
Michelle gently shook her head. "It's not sudden, I've always wanted to go, but you wouldn't let me. But as parents, we can't always live apart from our child, and I heard that Aramore's environment is better than Aerilon's, with a pleasant climate that's good for recuperation."
Caius pressed his lips tightly, not answering.
Michelle's fair fingers gently tugged at his sleeve, shaking it, and spoke softly, almost coquettishly.
When she acted coquettishly, Caius couldn't resist. "Alright, alright, I agree, but we have to wait a while. I need to settle the businesses in Aerilon first and buy some properties over there."
Michelle's eyes lit up, and she smiled, leaning up to kiss his handsome face. "I knew you were the best to me."
Feeling the softness on his face, Caius felt a surge of happiness in his heart.
Abigail soon received the news that her parents were coming, and she was overjoyed.
Gregory chuckled helplessly. "Are you that happy?"
Abigail giggled and threw herself into his arms, nodding. "Of course! Just thinking about seeing Mom every day makes me happy."
Gregory's long fingers gently tapped her nose. "Aren't you afraid that David will discover Michelle's secret?"
"Afraid." Abigail's smile slowly faded, and she said seriously, "But we can't live in fear forever. We just need to take precautions."
"Abigail has become more mature." Gregory smiled, ruffling her hair, his deep eyes filled with uncontrollable tenderness.
Two days later, Caius took Michelle on a private jet from Aerilon to Aramore.
Abigail and Gregory put aside their work to pick them up.
Seeing Michelle from a distance, Abigail excitedly waved her arms. "Mom, over here!"
Michelle had changed into a dress that perfectly outlined her figure, swaying gracefully with each step, exuding an indescribable charm and elegance.
Caius, tall and imposing, exuded an aura of authority.
The face hidden behind his sunglasses was chiseled and flawless.
Standing together, they made a striking couple, drawing many admiring glances.
Abigail ran over and snuggled into Michelle's arms, smiling. "Mom, welcome to Aramore."
Michelle smiled and hugged her back. "I'll be counting on you to show me around these days."
"No problem, I'll take care of it."
Gregory drove them to the hotel first, and after settling in, took them to the finest restaurant in Aramore for a meal.
This restaurant, owned by the White Group, was famous for its delicious steaks and local Aramore specialties, offering an exceptional dining experience.
