Chapter 111 You Were the Ones Who Deliberately Slandered Me First

Abigail's eyes widened. "Why would you say that?"

Olivia was obsessed with Gregory and took it out on her, but how did Henry know?

Most guys couldn't spot scheming women.

Henry grinned, brushing his hair with a confident flair. "Abigail, that's a stereotype! Some of us get it."

He winked at her, clearly proud of himself.

Abigail knew Henry was just looking out for her, so she smiled and nodded.

Henry felt relieved and left with Quinn.

Normally, he wouldn't get involved, but Abigail was his best friend's wife. Plus, he liked her.

If Elaine and Roman hadn't gotten engaged, Abigail and Gregory might've been together already.

Gregory wanted Abigail to fall for him, so Henry, being a good friend, had to help.

Abigail didn't know Henry's thoughts but felt warm from his care.

She remembered his words, found a sofa, and sat down. Not knowing many people and not being the type to mingle, she quietly ate her snacks.

Elaine had gone all out for this party, hiring top chefs whose desserts were truly exceptional.

At home, Gregory would occasionally bring her cakes, but Ralph usually monitored her sugar intake, insisting that too much was unhealthy.

Now, she could finally indulge, so she ate a bit more.

Just as she was enjoying herself, a shadow loomed over her.

Abigail looked up to see Jessica, arm-in-arm with Roman, smirking.

"Sis, why are you eating alone? Where's Gregory? So sad," Jessica taunted.

Abigail's almond eyes met hers as she picked up another dessert. After finishing it, she drawled, "My husband's discussing business. Sorry, I forgot my nephew, Roman, just spends family money. No wonder he's got nothing to do."

Her words instantly angered Roman and Jessica, who glared at her.

"Sis, no need to pretend. I know Mr. White is naturally cold and that you married him through shady means. It's normal he doesn't love you. Admitting it isn't shameful," Jessica said, feigning concern.

Roman, convinced Abigail had used Gregory to get back at him, looked at her with growing disdain. Despite her newfound beauty, he still saw her as a loose woman, unlike Jessica. He was glad he had broken off the engagement; otherwise, his dignity would have been in shambles.

Abigail laughed. Where did these two get the nerve to slander her at the White family's party?

She put her dessert plate down, smirking. "Shady means? Go ahead, tell me what I did."

Jessica didn't expect Abigail to be so tough. She bit her lip, cheeks flushing, eyes darting. "Sis, do you really want me to say it? I'm thinking of the Martin family's dignity. Don't force me."

Abigail sneered. "Dignity? Didn't that disappear long ago? Jessica, should I remind everyone how I caught you and Roman in bed?"

"Sis, I'm doing this for your own good. You can't do this!" Jessica's eyes filled with tears, which then fell.

Roman's anger flared. "Enough, Abigail. Jessica is your sister. Ruining her reputation won't help you."

Abigail looked at him coldly. "You two started this slander."

Humiliated by the guests' stares, Roman couldn't bear being outdone by Abigail. He snapped, "Abigail, I know you married Gregory because of me. But let me be clear: the only person I love is Jessica. I’ll never look at you again. Just give up."

Before Abigail could respond, someone in the crowd laughed.

Henry walked over, looking at Roman with disdain. "Like you? Nephew Roman, you're delusional. Quinn's a renowned doctor. Maybe he can treat you."

Roman frowned. "This is between Abigail and me. Stay out of it. And I'm not your nephew!"

Ever since Abigail called him "nephew", he couldn't stand the term.
