Chapter 505 Mr. White, Thank You
Knowing Gregory cherished Lila like a precious gem, Abigail hadn't expected him to be this vigilant. Unsure whether to laugh or cry, she paused for a moment.
She held Gregory's hand and gently comforted him, "Alright, don't be angry. Clifford is only a month old, he didn't do it on purpose. This just shows that our Lila is very likable."
Sitting by the bed, Gregory's frustration eased a bit, though he remained somewhat upset. He silently vowed to protect Lila well in the future, determined never to let similar things happen again.
From that day on, everyone noticed Gregory's protection of Lila became even more excessive. He practically followed her around 24/7, never leaving her side.
If anyone dared to come close, he would stare at them with his deep eyes, as if trying to bore a hole through them.
When he was expressionless, the cold aura around him was impossible to suppress.
So, except for a few elders, almost no one dared to approach.
Especially Henry and Clifford, who had now become key targets of his vigilance. Whenever they brought Clifford over, Gregory immediately took Lila far away. Want to see the child? Not a chance.
Wasn't Kyle still around?
Under the pretext of fostering brotherly love from a young age.
Henry and Tricia saw clearly that Gregory was guarding against them, but knowing it in their hearts was useless—they were in the wrong.
Kyle was fine, anyway, it was a good thing for Clifford to have another playmate.
Time passed quickly, and Abigail stayed in the hospital for a full two months.
In fact, she could have been discharged not long after giving birth. Abigail had a natural delivery and recovered quickly. Plus, Caius was at home every day researching special foods to nourish and replenish her body, so she was almost able to get out of bed and walk soon after, even as healthy as if nothing had happened.
But Gregory was always worried and insisted that Abigail stay in the hospital for a few more days.
Although there was a family doctor at home, it couldn't compare to the hospital. If there was any problem with her body, a doctor could be called over at any time.
Abigail couldn't argue with him, so she reluctantly stayed in the hospital for a full two months.
On the day of discharge, Gregory specifically canceled all his work and wrapped Abigail tightly in a thick coat, afraid that she might catch a cold outside.
It was already spring, and Abigail was wrapped tightly in a down jacket, completely windproof.
Abigail didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She casually raised her arm, feeling like a clumsy bear from a cartoon. "Mr. White, isn't this a bit too much?"
Gregory, however, was very serious and zipped the jacket all the way up, covering half of Abigail's face. "Bear with it, we'll be home soon. There's wind outside, and the doctor said that after giving birth, your body's resistance is at its lowest. You absolutely can't catch a cold, or you'll suffer."
Abigail couldn't argue with him, so she let him do as he pleased.
Gregory smiled with satisfaction, rubbed the fluffy collar of the down jacket, took her arm, and led her out.
Back home, Abigail was drenched in sweat. She quickly took off her coat and lay on the sofa, panting.
Gregory followed closely behind, carrying the two children in.
In two months, Gregory had gone from a novice who didn't even dare to hold the children to someone who could skillfully take care of both.
Whether it was holding them or putting them to sleep, he almost did it all by himself.
After all, Abigail needed to recuperate. She had already worked hard enough to give birth to two children for him. Except for when the children needed to be fed, he wouldn't bother Abigail with anything he could handle.
Fortunately, the two children were very well-behaved. Even when they were sleepy or hungry, they didn't cry or fuss, just waved their hands and feet and babbled.
Seeing Abigail lying motionless on the sofa, Gregory quickly put the two children back in the crib and went over to massage her shoulders.
Abigail seemed to sense something and slowly opened her eyes. Seeing him come over, a smile appeared on her face. "Are they asleep?"
Gregory smiled. "Not yet, but they're quite well-behaved, playing in the crib by themselves."
Abigail moved and leaned her head against Gregory's chest, rubbing it. "Our children are so well-behaved. I thought taking care of children would be difficult, but they're so good and obedient."
Gregory dotingly tapped her nose and teased. "You should see who takes care of them most of the time."
Abigail raised her face and gave Gregory a big kiss on the cheek. "Mr. White, thank you."
Meeting such a gentle and understanding man was her luck.
Gregory cupped her face, pressed his forehead against hers, and lightly pecked her rosy lips. "The one who should be thankful is me, Mrs. White. Thank you, I love you."
As he finished speaking, a passionate kiss followed, accompanied by the unique scent of his hormones, enveloping her.
