Chapter 131 Seeking Justice for Michelle
Loren pondered for a moment, then said gravely, "Unless you can find sufficient evidence to prove you were deceived and not acting voluntarily, it might be difficult to get the shares back."
Abigail knew that David was so cautious that he wouldn’t leave behind any evidence easily. Finding proof would likely be difficult.
Seeing Abigail's distressed expression, Loren couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy.
Michelle had been kind to them in the past. Without Michelle, they wouldn't have achieved what they had today, so he couldn't just stand by and watch Abigail be bullied like this.
Thus, he said, "I'll ask some friends in the legal circle to see if there's any room for maneuver."
A warm feeling surged through Abigail's heart, and she quickly thanked him.
After leaving Loren's house, Abigail directly instructed Jason to head to the Martin family.
Jason was taken aback. He still remembered how Abigail had emerged from the Martin family in tears last time, causing him to hesitate for a moment.
Ultimately, he decided to follow the instructions and took Abigail to the Martin family. This time, he was smarter and directly sent a message to Gregory to inform him of the situation.
...
After getting out of the car, Abigail was about to go in when she was stopped by a servant of the Martin family.
The other party was a cold, middle-aged woman in her forties who scrutinized Abigail with a hostile gaze.
Abigail raised an eyebrow. "Belle, what do you mean by this?"
Belle was someone Kayla had brought in. It was said that when Kayla was David's mistress, Belle had always taken care of Kayla and her daughter.
Later, when Kayla moved into the Martin family, she brought Belle along.
Belle looked at Abigail's increasingly outstanding appearance and sneered, "Abigail, Mr. Martin has ordered that you are not allowed to step into this house again. I'm just following Mr. Martin's orders."
Abigail stared at her for a moment, then chuckled.
Belle frowned, feeling uneasy at her laughter, and couldn't help but ask, "What are you laughing at?"
Abigail's cold gaze fell on her, and she smirked. "Of course, I find you ridiculous. This is my home. Why can't I go in?"
Belle snorted, "Mr. Martin is the master here. He makes the rules, and Mr. Martin no longer acknowledges you as his daughter. After all, you can't compare to Jessica in any way."
"In that case, don't blame me for forcing my way in." Abigail's face darkened, and she waved her hand.
Jason got out of the car, grabbed Belle's arm, and pushed her aside.
Being chosen by Gregory as a driver meant he had been carefully selected. Although he didn't look particularly strong, he had undergone special training, and dealing with a frail woman was a piece of cake.
Belle was caught off guard and almost fell to the ground. Angrily, she exclaimed, "What are you doing? Trespassing is illegal!"
"Go ahead and call the police. I'd like to see which law I'm breaking by entering my own house!" Abigail gave her a cold glance and quickened her pace toward the house.
David and Kayla heard the commotion outside and came out.
Belle quickly ran to them, crying and accusing, "Mr. Martin, Mrs. Martin, you have to stand up for me. Abigail forced her way in and had someone hit me."
Abigail couldn't be bothered with her false accusations and stood directly in front of David.
As soon as David saw Abigail, he remembered the humiliation he had suffered at Maple Residence yesterday and became furious. "What are you doing now?"
Abigail ignored his impotent rage and directly handed over the document in her hand, questioning sternly, "What's the meaning of this share transfer agreement?"
David took the document and glanced at it, his eyes flickering with guilt. "Didn't you sign this yourself? I'm your father; you must transfer the shares to me!"
Abigail sneered, "I don't remember signing this agreement. When I signed, you said I wasn't of age yet, and the company couldn't be left unmanaged, so you would temporarily exercise shareholder rights on my behalf!"
David stubbornly continued, "You must have been drunk at the time and got confused. From start to finish, it was always a share transfer!"
Abigail laughed in disgust. "I was hospitalized at the time, and I hadn't touched a drop of alcohol before I turned eighteen!"
David's eyes darted around, not daring to meet Abigail's gaze.
Those eyes were too clear, and the hatred in them shook him to his core.
He mumbled, "Even if I tricked you into signing it, so what? DM was originally founded by your mother and me. What's wrong with giving the shares to me? Abigail, haven't you caused enough trouble?"
Abigail laughed mockingly. "Caused trouble? I'm just seeking justice for my deceased mother!"
After a moment of silence, she continued, "David, you tampered with that document. That's illegal. What do you think will happen if I decide to sue you?"
David's heart trembled, and his face showed panic, but he quickly calmed himself down. "The document has long been destroyed. There's no evidence. What will you use to sue me?"
Abigail's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Just wait for the court summons. Also, I've already obtained my mother's inheritance, which includes all your assets. The second reason I'm here today is to tell you to get out."
At these words, not only David but even Kayla's face changed dramatically.
David was furious, trembling all over. "Abigail, you're going too far. I'm your biological father!"
Abigail looked at him calmly and said sarcastically, "I wish you weren't. I should thank you for showing me the bottom line of human nature. From now on, I don't want to have any ties with you."
Having such a father was worse than having none!
"What nonsense are you talking about? This house is ours. How could it be that bitch Michelle's?" Kayla's eyes were filled with disbelief.
Seeing her hysterical appearance, Abigail raised her hand and slapped her.
She lightly shook her hand. "You're a homewrecker living in my mother's house, enjoying her inheritance. What right do you have to insult my mother?"
Kayla covered her face, her eyes filled with shock and panic. "You hit me? How dare you hit me? Bitch, go to hell!"
She angrily charged at Abigail.
Jason quickly stepped in front of Abigail, grabbed Kayla's swinging hand, and threw her aside.
Kayla stumbled and fell to the ground, crying out in pain.
David watched this scene, the veins on his forehead throbbing. "Abigail, haven't you caused enough trouble? If you want me to move out, it's impossible!"
This was his home, the shares were his, and DM was his! No one could take them away!
Abigail took out the property deed and waved it in front of David. "David, I'm already being merciful by just asking you to leave."
In the past, she had never completely severed ties with David, partly because she held onto the hope that blood ties were unbreakable and that he would eventually recognize her worth.
On the other hand, she didn't have enough power to fight David.
But now it was different. She had completely broken away from the Martin family and was utterly disappointed in David.
She was determined to reclaim everything that belonged to them for Michelle and make David pay the price he deserved!
