Chapter 225 Scandal

After Henry took off, Gregory's face turned stormy. Abigail picked up on it right away and grabbed his hand, worried. "Mr. White, is something up?"

Gregory didn't want her stressing out, so he patted her hair and shook his head gently. "Nah, it's nothing. Let's get you to work first."

He wasn't in the mood to talk more, and Abigail didn't push it. She just followed him to the car.

On the drive, Gregory asked casually, "I heard Tom quit?"

Abigail, half-asleep in the passenger seat, rubbed her temples and looked troubled. "Yeah, he quit a few days ago. I thought he'd make a fuss, but he left pretty peacefully."

The real pain was the mountain of work Tom left behind. Now, the whole design department felt like a ship without a captain, totally chaotic.

To get their groove back, they needed another designer as good as Tom. Abigail had interviewed a bunch of candidates yesterday but hadn't found the right one.

Lost in her thoughts, she suddenly felt Gregory's warm, strong hand holding hers tightly. She turned to look at him and saw worry and comfort in his eyes.

Just one look, he softened her turmoil, and she smiled at him. "I'll be okay. Once we get through this, things will get better."

Gregory gently squeezed her hand, his lips pressed into a thin line.

They soon arrived at the DM building. Abigail quickly kissed Gregory on the lips and hopped out of the car. "Bye, Mr. White!"

Gregory was momentarily stunned. When he snapped out of it, Abigail was already walking away. He touched the spot where she'd kissed him, and surprisingly, his frustration about Tom eased up.

Back at the office, Abigail headed straight to the design department. She expected them to be down in the dumps after Tom left, but when she walked in, it was buzzing with activity.

A group of people were huddled around a phone, whispering non-stop. Abigail moved closer and realized they were talking about her and Tom.

"I never thought Ms. Martin would be like that!"

"No wonder she went after Tom. She was scared her affair would get out!"

"I always said, just look at Abigail, you can tell she's trouble!"

"Unbelievable, seducing Mr. White is one thing, but she didn't even spare her own employees!"

Their words got nastier, throwing around terms like "affair" and "seductive" based on a single video. Even some of the women joined in.

Abigail didn't say anything right away, her gaze growing colder.

Someone finally noticed her at the door and froze, quickly nudging the person next to them. "Shut up, Ms. Martin is here."

The noisy office went dead silent. Everyone stared at Abigail, their faces going from pale to red like a messed-up paint job.

"Ms. Martin."

Abigail walked closer, her eyes sweeping over everyone. Her gaze was calm, with no extra emotion, but it was intimidating. Especially those who had been badmouthing her the most, they couldn't help but hold their breath.

Abigail's voice was icy. "What were you all chatting about? Having a good time?"

They all shook their heads, staying silent. Abigail sneered and held out her hand to one of them. "Hand it over."

The guy with black-framed glasses, who had been the loudest, took a couple of steps back, playing dumb. "Ms. Martin, hand over what?"

"Do I need to have someone search you?" Anger flashed in Abigail's eyes. The threat of summoning security hung heavily in the air.

The guy hesitated but eventually handed over his phone. Abigail took it and played the video.

In the video, Abigail was backed up against a desk, and Tom's tall figure was leaning in like he was about to kiss her. The angle made it look way more intimate than it was.

Abigail gritted her teeth. "Where did you get this video?"

The guy mumbled, looking down.

"Speak up!" Abigail's voice was sharp.

Everyone was taken aback, not daring to breathe. A young girl from the back stepped forward, speaking softly. "There used to be an unofficial company forum. The video was leaked there."

Abigail's gaze softened slightly as she looked at the timid girl. "Give me the forum's URL."

The girl quickly pulled out her phone and showed it to Abigail.

Abigail registered an account and browsed the forum, seeing how active it was. Many people didn't realize Abigail was on the forum and kept discussing her intensely. Some used vulgar language, saying things that were just gross.

Someone: [Say what you will, Ms. Martin is really hot. Things must be heated in the bedroom with her.]

Someone: [Tom is lucky to have gotten with Ms. Martin.]

Someone: [Mr. White is so unlucky, doing all that to help Ms. Martin take over DM, only for her to cheat on him.]

In the office, several men who had posted on the forum were sweating bullets, hoping they wouldn't be recognized. They kept their heads down, trying to disappear.

Abigail's fingers swiped across the screen, and after seeing the content, she let out a cold laugh. "No wonder your design drafts are weeks behind. You've been wasting time on this?"

Her gaze was like ice, sending chills down their spines. They couldn't help but shiver, lowering their heads even more.

Just then, Susan rushed in, panting as she approached Abigail. "Sorry, Ms. Martin, it's my fault. I didn't expect someone to record a video."

Abigail frowned and tossed the phone to her. "Find out where the video came from, and tell the tech department to disable the forum's anonymous feature."

She wanted to see if they'd still be so bold without anonymity.

Susan held the phone, looking hesitant. "Ms. Martin, there are so many posts. If you go after this, it might be overwhelming."

Abigail raised an eyebrow, her red lips curling slightly, but her words were cold. "Should I just let it go when I'm being slandered and defamed?"

Susan's face went pale, and she quickly waved her hands. "That's not what I meant! I'll get right on it!"

A few minutes later, the employees who had been chatting on the forum were shocked to find their previous posts now included their real names.
