Chapter 349 Get Out of Aerilon
The bodyguards in black turned, startled, and met a cold, icy gaze. Their eyes locked in shock and confusion. They were highly trained and rarely detected, especially when tailing someone. This had never happened before.
How did Gregory find them?
Gregory sneered, a hint of mockery in his eyes. "Let me guess, you were sent by Caius?"
The two bodyguards were shocked again.
"You want to ask how I knew?" Gregory crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. His deep eyes were calm, yet he exuded an invisible pressure.
The bodyguards turned to leave but were stopped by Gregory.
"Where do you think you're going? Delete the photos, or do you think you can leave easily?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the bodyguards noticed several casually dressed men with an imposing presence watching them. Realizing they were outmatched, they hesitated briefly before deleting all the photos in front of Gregory.
Gregory smiled in satisfaction and said coldly, "Go back and tell Caius, if he's so interested in our lives, he should come find us himself."
With that, he stepped aside, making way for them.
The two bodyguards left dejectedly.
Abigail, Quinn, and Henry came over, curiously glancing at the departing bodyguards.
"What happened?" they asked.
Gregory gently rubbed Abigail's head and smiled. "Nothing. Is there anything else you want to do? I'll go with you."
Abigail was quickly distracted and pulled Gregory's hand to continue to the next activity.
By the end of the day, Abigail was so tired she didn't want to move.
Seeing this, Gregory sighed helplessly. "I told you to take care of yourself while playing, or you'll feel terrible later."
Abigail pouted and opened her arms to him. "Carry me."
Gregory bent down, picked Abigail up horizontally, and strode towards the villa.
Back in the room, Gregory placed Abigail on the soft bed and knelt down to take off her shoes.
Abigail wiggled her little feet and asked, "Mr. White, was someone following us at the amusement park today?"
Gregory looked up in surprise. "You knew?"
He had intended to keep it from Abigail.
After all, anyone would feel uncomfortable being guarded against like a thief by their own father.
Abigail's lips curved slightly, and a hint of sadness flashed in her clear eyes.
"Actually, I guessed his attitude the moment I saw Caius last night. He doesn't want to acknowledge me, does he?"
Gregory pulled her into his arms, feeling heartbroken. "No, maybe he just doesn't know you're his biological daughter."
Abigail gently shook her head and leaned against him. "You don't have to comfort me. I didn't have much expectation of him in the first place. I came to Aerilon for my mom, and that's it."
Growing up, she had never felt much fatherly love.
So to her, the presence or absence of a father didn't make much difference.
Gregory sighed silently and said, "Alright, don't think about it. I'll find a way to handle this."
No matter the cost, he would make sure Abigail got what she wanted.
In the luxurious hotel suite, Caius lounged on the sofa, a cigarette in one hand and the other draped casually over the back, exuding a cold yet relaxed demeanor.
After the bodyguards reported what had happened today, he looked up indifferently. "So what you're saying is, not only were you discovered while tailing, but you were also forced to delete the photos?"
The bodyguards hung their heads low, not daring to look up.
Caius sneered, his deep voice tinged with coldness.
"Then why did you come back?"
The two bodyguards quickly apologized, "Sorry, Mr. Worthington, we failed in our duties. We are willing to accept punishment."
Caius waved his hand. "Forget it, just don't let it happen again."
However, this incident did make him see Gregory in a new light.
"By the way, have the people you sent to Aramore to investigate Gregory and Abigail returned? How did the investigation go?"
The bodyguard quickly replied, "It's all been investigated and sent to your email."
Caius nodded and waved them off.
After the bodyguards left, Caius picked up his laptop, opened his email, and began browsing the information on Gregory and Abigail.
Gregory's resume was impressive. At a young age, he had taken over the White Group, single-handedly saving it from a crisis and leading it to become one of the top companies in Capitise.
Achieving such success at his age required immense courage.
However, this stoic man had actually married Abigail a few months ago.
That was quite intriguing.
Abigail's story was even more eventful. Born to Michelle but overlooked by David, she faced betrayal by Ramon and schemes from Kayle and David for her inheritance. Despite these hardships, she survived and retaliated against her enemies.
When Caius saw that Abigail had sent David, Jessica, and Kayle to prison single-handedly, a spark of interest flashed in his eyes. She truly embodied Michelle's resilience and ruthlessness.
What a pity. Such an outstanding girl, yet David's child. If she were his, he would have treated her like a princess, shielding her from all harm.
Perhaps because Abigail was so much like a young Michelle, Caius felt a twinge of reluctance in his heart.
But the thought of her existence posing a threat to him quickly suppressed that reluctance.
He closed the laptop, lit another cigarette, and leaned back on the sofa, deep in thought.
After a long time, he made a phone call and gave a few instructions, his eyes flashing with ruthlessness.
"By any means necessary, I want Gregory and Abigail out of Aerilon within three days."
