Chapter 21 Elaine

Unbeknownst to Abigail, as they left, two people emerged from the railing upstairs.

One of them was dressed in a crisp suit, sporting gold-rimmed glasses, and appeared impeccably groomed.

The other person wore a white casual outfit, with the zipper only halfway up, revealing a delicate and beautiful collarbone, giving off a somewhat promiscuous vibe.
Wearing a white casual outfit, Henry leaned his arm on the shoulder of the man beside him and said with a smile, "I was worried that Abigail would be bullied. But it seems Gregory didn't make a mistake in choosing her."

However, Abigail was quite alert. They were just secretly observing from a hidden spot, but she almost caught them. However, Abigail probably needs to remember who they are. After all these years, Gregory had ordered them not to appear in front of Abigail. They didn't dare to disobey Gregory's command. After all, when he got angry, he wouldn't even spare himself, let alone his friends. They would definitely be abused.

Quinn Worthington pinched the arm on his shoulder, disgustedly let go, and then casually patted the creased area, saying coldly, "Take your hand off."

Henry was already used to his obsession with cleanliness, so he reluctantly withdrew his hand. He looked left and right at his palm and couldn't help but complain, "My hands aren't dirty. Quinn, do you really have to be so repulsed?"

Quinn glanced at him indifferently. "What do you think?"

Under his gaze, Henry felt a chilling coldness emanating from his body. Different from Gregory's cold indifference, Quinn's personality was more cynical, and his eyes were like venomous snakes lurking in the grass, sinister.

Even though Henry and Quinn had grown up together since childhood, sometimes he couldn't help but be frightened by his gaze. So, compared to Gregory, Henry found Quinn to be scarier.

Henry awkwardly laughed a couple of times and quickly put his hand behind his back. "Can't I apologize? I'll wash my hands in the bathroom later. No, I'll wash them ten times."

Only then did Quinn retract his gaze and turn to walk downstairs.

Henry sighed quietly and hurriedly followed, asking, "Quinn, wait for me. Where are you going?"

Quinn said, "Home."

By the time Abigail returned home, it was already dark outside.

She didn't even want to change clothes and just lay on the bed, comfortably sighing.

Abigail had been walking all day, and her feet were so sore and swollen that she slumped on the bed and didn't want to get up.

At this moment, her phone suddenly rang with a series of message notifications.

Only then did Abigail remember that she had yet to reply to Gregory's messages.

After she paid the bill at the restaurant, she had just put her phone in her bag and had just taken it out.

She opened WhatsApp and found that it was a message from Roman.

[Abigail, quickly delete the video and recording from that day. If you dare to share them, I won't go easy on you! Please don't blame me for being rude to you!]
Roman was furious as he received one accusation after another, indicating his current anger.

Abigail, on the other hand, was angry, and a hint of coldness flashed in her eyes. "I'm so scared," she responded sarcastically. "Since you're so capable, when are you going to pay back the money you owe me?"

Roman thought Abigail would back down, apologize to Jessica, and delete the video and audio recordings. However, he was met with this unexpected response, which made him grind his teeth in anger and wish he could smash his phone.

Taking a deep breath, Roman forced himself to calm down, continuing to message on his phone. "You've held onto our engagement for so many years, and now you want money from me? Dream on! I warn you, either you go to grandmother and break off the engagement tomorrow, or even if I marry you, I won't spare you a second glance."

Abigail continued to reply, "Breaking off the engagement is fine, but you owe me money! Fifty million dollars, not a penny less! Otherwise, your beloved woman can be a mistress for the rest of her life."

Roman couldn't believe that these words were coming from Abigail's typically meek mouth. Whenever he showed a slightly firm attitude in the past, Abigail would always give in. He instinctually thought she would compromise this time as well. After all, she was having a hard time in the Martin family and would have been kicked out long ago if she didn't have the White family to rely on.

Roman gritted his teeth and continued typing on his phone screen, clicking to send. However, he never expected that as soon as he sent the message, a red exclamation mark appeared beside it. "You are not friends with the recipient. Please verify..."

Roman stared at this sentence for over a minute in disbelief before finally snapping back to reality. His eyes were filled with astonishment, and he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Was Abigail blocking him?

Unwilling to accept it, Roman found Abigail's phone number in his contacts and dialed it, only to receive the same result. He was furious, suffocating with pent-up frustration. Abigail was really something!

After blocking Roman on WhatsApp and her phone, Abigail felt relief. She let out a light hum, knowing that not just anyone could stay on her contact list. She contemplated for a moment before opening Roman's chat box again.

Although she blocked him, their chat history remained. Abigail scrolled down and discovered that every time Roman contacted her, he questioned why she bullied Jessica. Grace only invited her to dine at the White Manor at sporadic times.
Grace actually had Abigail's contact information, but she wanted to use it to promote Abigail's relationship with Roman.
Unfortunately, Grace didn't get her way in the end.
She and Roman may have been people from two different worlds from the beginning and would never come together in the future.
Even if they got married, it would be a failed marriage. They were just torturing each other.
Abigail went through all the chat records and found several instances where Roman insulted her the most harshly. She took screenshots and saved them.
Before the divorce, she had to fight for enough leverage for herself.
Although Grace said Roman and his mother, Elaine White, pursued this engagement, Abigail had the decision-making power.
But Elaine was a challenging person to get along with. She loved to distort facts and believed that Roman was the best in the world and that no one was worthy of him.
So, Abigail had to be fully prepared and firmly hold the initiative in her own hands.
She saved the screenshots and then called Ralph to have him hire a private investigator to investigate Roman and Jessica, preferably finding evidence of them staying in hotels and records of Roman's expenses on Jessica over the years.
When Ralph heard Abigail's instructions, he couldn't help but pause for a moment, with a hint of surprise in his eyes.
Fortunately, he had experienced many things and received professional training, so he quickly adjusted his expression.
"Okay, Mrs. White. I'll take care of it right away."
