Chapter 469 Expelled from the Worthington Family

Emrys listened and smiled smugly. Didn't Caius used to rely on his position as head of the Worthington family to make things difficult for him? He wanted to see just how arrogant Caius could be without that title!

Caius glanced at him indifferently, pursing his lips without saying a word.

Behind him, Abigail and Gregory exchanged a glance, unable to help but feel relieved. Luckily, they had come along; otherwise, they wouldn't have known that Caius's position in the Worthington family wasn't as secure as it seemed and that he faced obstacles everywhere.

Abigail stepped forward, standing in front of Caius, and looked at the stern-faced Cliff. "You are Grandpa's uncle, and I respect you as an elder, but my dad inheriting the position of the head of the Worthington family was Grandpa's dying wish. No one has the right to question it."

Cliff's gaze fell on Abigail's face, and he couldn't help but sneer. "Is it your place, an outsider, to speak here?"

Abigail opened her mouth, just about to say something, when Caius grabbed her arm and pulled her behind him. "If you have any issues, direct them at me. Abigail is my daughter and a member of the Worthington family."

This was a clear declaration to everyone that Abigail was his acknowledged daughter.

No one could question this.

Looking at the broad back shielding her, a warm feeling surged through Abigail's heart.

Although Caius could be quite infuriating at times, she had to admit that he was reliable in critical moments.

Cliff was so angry that he couldn't speak, slamming the table forcefully. The teacup on the table made a crisp sound and trembled uncontrollably.

After a minute, he said, "Ridiculous. Don't think I don't know. Recently, there's been a lot of noise online about this woman being the illegitimate daughter of Michelle and David! She doesn't deserve to be in the Worthington family!"

Caius coldly curled his lips and looked at Cliff. "Your information is quite outdated. I've already clarified the online rumors. Abigail is the child of Michelle and me. If you don't believe it, I can show you the paternity test report."

Cliff was choked by his words and couldn't speak for a moment, changing the subject. "Now is not the time to talk about this. I called everyone here today to discuss the position of the head."

Caius remained expressionless. "So, if I'm not fit to be the head, who is?"

Before Cliff could speak, Emrys couldn't wait to step forward, a smug smile on his lips. "Of course, only the person with the signet ring is fit!"

Caius raised an eyebrow, his expression unchanged. "What? The ring is with you? Show it to us."

Emrys exchanged a glance with Cliff, who nodded. Feeling confident, he quickly produced a small jewelry box from his suit pocket.

The people from the collateral branches all looked over, their eyes fixed on the jewelry box without blinking.

Previously, only the main family members of the Worthington family were qualified to see the signet ring. They had long been curious about what it looked like, and today they finally had the chance to see it.

As the jewelry box opened, everyone held their breath in tension.

The jewelry box slowly opened, revealing a delicate and beautiful gemstone ring, exquisitely crafted and sparkling under the light.

Everyone's eyes widened, filled with a bit of fervor.

Emrys felt proud; he had gone to great lengths to finally obtain this.

Cliff stroked his beard and looked at Caius. "Caius, I'm not unreasonable. You admitted that as long as someone had the ring, you would agree to step down as the head of the Worthington family. Don't go back on your word now."

Caius pursed his lips, eyes fixed on the ring. He had given it to Michelle for safekeeping and hadn't seen it since. When Michelle fell ill, he secretly medicated her to fake her death and escape, so he hadn't had time to think about the ring. How had it ended up in Emrys's hands now?

Seeing Caius remain silent, Emrys became even more smug. "What do you say, Caius? Are you planning to go back on your word? This ring represents the entire Worthington family. Whether you agree or not, I am now the true head of the family!"

As Emrys spoke, his excitement grew and his tone rose. If not for the presence of so many outsiders, he would have laughed out loud. Suppressed by Caius all his life and overshadowed, he could finally hold his head high, feeling simply exhilarating!

"Caius, I advise you not to be stubborn. Save yourself some dignity. The most important thing now is to quickly hand over the management rights of the Worthington Group to me. Cliff, don't you agree?" Emrys looked at Cliff, his attitude respectful, but his tone was full of pride.

Cliff nodded in agreement. "Emrys is right. Caius, you've been favored by Darwin for so many years, and he's been biased for so many years. It's time for Emrys to have his turn."

Caius sneered. "You want me to hand over the Worthington Group? On what grounds? Just because of this obviously fake ring?"
