Chapter 286 Evidence of Infidelity

Abigail silently shook her head, suddenly feeling a pang of sympathy for David. Simultaneously, a subtle sense of anticipation welled up within her.

Thinking about it, it seemed like releasing Jessica might not be a bad choice.

They might end up fighting each other, and she could enjoy the show.

Abigail's round eyes darted around, a sly glint flashing in her gaze.

She spoke up. "David, do you remember the condition I mentioned to you that day? If you tell me why you slandered my mom, I might consider releasing Jessica and Susan."

David's eyes suddenly lit up. "Are you serious?"

Abigail nodded.

"Keep your word. No... I don't trust you. Let's write it down as evidence." David watched Abigail warily, his eyes full of distrust.

He was now at a dead end and couldn't afford to make a single mistake, or it would be irreparable.

Abigail nodded slightly, asking Gregory to get paper and pen from the nurse, and quickly wrote down the promise.

Gregory looked at Abigail with concern, his face tense.

He had already found out part of the truth about Michelle, and he worried that Abigail wouldn't be able to handle it when she found out.

Seeing Abigail sign her name, David smiled smugly.

"Actually, back then, your mom and I were very much in love. At that time, to pursue her..."

Halfway through his sentence, Abigail frowned and interrupted coldly, "I have no desire to hear about your romantic escapades. Do you truly believe I am unaware that you approached my mother with ulterior motives?"

Back then, David was just a poor man, with no power, no influence, and nothing to his name.

But Michelle, at a young age, was already a first-chair violinist, with countless fans and students, and had amassed a considerable fortune.

David saw Michelle as an easy target to deceive, using his charming appearance to completely fool her.

After they got together, David even manipulated Michelle's thoughts, making her give up everything for him.

David's face stiffened slightly, and he retorted in a deep voice, "I didn't deceive your mom. She willingly gave everything for me."

This statement directly ignited the anger in Abigail's heart. She glared at David and shouted, "Say that again if you dare!"

David's heart skipped a beat. He wanted to escape but found that his body couldn't move at all.

He could only endure the humiliation and temporarily submit.

"I won't say it again, okay?" David replied.

"Back to the point, why did you slander my mother, calling her a shameless woman and saying I was an illegitimate child?" Abigail clenched her fists.

No one knew how painful it was for Abigail to say this.

Gregory stepped forward, gently hugged her shoulders, and softly comforted her. Then he looked sharply at David.

"You'd better be honest. I'll have someone investigate afterward. If there's even a single lie..." Gregory's expression was cold, his thin lips curved in a faint smile, exuding a powerful sense of oppression that made it impossible to look directly at him.

David shrank his shoulders hard and nodded in panic. "I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare..."

He paused, then continued nervously, "At that time, Michelle and I were a couple everyone admired. However, after she established DM, she was seldom home, frequently attending various social functions."

"A woman, how can she be with a bunch of men every day? How do you think those deals were made? She knew better than anyone!" David shouted.

Abigail was enraged again, grabbing David's collar forcefully, her eyes burning with anger. "If she didn't negotiate those deals, would you have enjoyed such a luxurious life for so many years? She gave everything for you, even giving up her beloved violin to do business. What right do you have to slander her like this?"

The more Abigail listened, the more she felt heartbroken for Michelle.

She was young then and only knew that Michelle and David didn't get along, and Michelle cried every day.

But she never knew that Michelle had suffered so much back then.

It felt like countless sharp knives were stabbing into her heart, leaving it riddled with holes in an instant.

Abigail was so heartbroken that she could hardly breathe, wishing she could tear David to pieces.

David, being grabbed by the collar, found it increasingly difficult to breathe, his face turning red.

He struggled to pry Abigail's hand away, looking to Gregory for help. "Mr. White... save me."

However, Gregory just gave him a cold glance, with no intention of helping.

"Mr. Martin, Abigail is venting her anger for Michelle. Since you dared to do it, you should have the courage to face the consequences and accept them," said Gregory.

He despised men who relied on women to succeed. Especially David, who not only relied on a woman to reach his current position but also betrayed her, causing Michelle and Abigail so much pain.

He deserved everything that was happening to him now.

Abigail sneered, forcefully throwing him back onto the bed. "Continue, why do you say I'm not your child?"

David, released, gasped for air, coughing uncontrollably. "Isn't it because Michelle had intimate relations with other men to secure deals? Until she died, I didn't know how many times she had betrayed me! Do you think I shouldn't hate her?"

It felt like something exploded in Abigail's mind.

She unconsciously took two steps back, her expression dazed. "Impossible, my mother would never do such a thing!"

David gave her a cold look and sneered. "Impossible? If I hadn't caught her, I would have been kept in the dark my whole life!"

David admitted he wasn't a good person. He pursued Michelle initially just to gain more admiration from others.

Later, he used Michelle to make money, even having an affair with Kayla while dating her.

Was Michelle really a good woman?

No! She was just a shameless woman who would stop at nothing for personal gain!

Abigail clenched her fists, stepped forward again, and slapped David hard. "I don't believe it. My mom would never do such a thing. You're lying to me!"

David said, "If you don't believe me, I have evidence. The reason I found out was because Kayla told me. She even took photos at the time."

Abigail's pupils contracted. "Where are the photos? Where are they now?"

David suddenly laughed. "Do you think I would give you something so important? Abigail, I advise you to release Jessica and Susan obediently, or I can't guarantee these photos won't leak out someday."
