Chapter 201 Stolen Kiss

Hearing Gregory's flirty words, Abigail felt her cheeks heat up.

She instinctively tried to pull her foot away, but Gregory was quick to catch on and didn't let her escape.

His touch on her ankle was warm and dry, sending a shiver up her spine.

She shot him an annoyed look. "Mr. White."

Seeing her shy reaction, Gregory stopped and, with a grin, placed her foot back. "Alright, no more teasing. You must be wiped out after today. Get some rest."

"Okay." Abigail nodded and slowly closed her eyes.

Maybe she was really tired, or maybe Gregory's embrace was just too comfy, but she soon drifted off to sleep.

Gregory didn't sleep. He kept his eyes on Abigail's sleeping face, totally mesmerized.

Listening to her soft breathing, a smile crept onto his lips.

Abigail lay on her side in his arms, her cheek nestled against his chest, her lips slightly parted, and her long lashes forming a perfect arc.

Every part of her was just perfect.

Gregory gently held her wrist and kissed her forehead tenderly. "Goodnight, my darling."

After watching her for a bit longer, Gregory carefully let go and got up to head to the study, where he had some work to catch up on. But before that, knowing he would be up late, he made a cup of coffee for himself, then headed up and called Leo.

Leo picked up quickly, his voice serious. "Mr. White."

"Yeah, how's it going with those folks?" Gregory asked.

Leaning back in his leather chair, Gregory's relaxed posture contrasted with his intense expression, making people think twice about approaching him.

Leo answered honestly, "The word's out. Those companies won't last long."

Gregory's fingers drummed lightly on the desk, a slight smile on his lips. "Good job. Tomorrow, see how things are going with DM. If they're still slow, they can leave the company."

Leo replied respectfully, "Got it. But Mr. White, have you thought about how these high-profile moves might affect Mrs. White?"

Everyone at White Group knew Mrs. White was now the president of DM Group. And Mr. White, to win her favor, had generously offered cooperation.

Many top fashion companies had been eager for this opportunity. No one saw this twist coming.

To say there was no resentment would be a lie; DM's strength wasn't what it used to be, and working with them meant big losses for the company.

The industry was already grumbling, and the company was no different. Even those who liked Abigail started to change their tune.

They whispered that she was just using men to get ahead and that without White Group and Gregory, she was nothing.

Leo had heard these comments countless times but never dared to tell Mr. White.

Hearing this, a cold glint flashed in Gregory's eyes, and he said in a frosty tone, "It's our business. What's wrong with giving support? Besides, Abigail is capable."

Abigail had a knack for business, probably got it from Michelle.

Plus, she was a big name in the fashion world, and even the international fashion guru "I" had praised her designs.

Everything Gregory was doing now was just an investment. He was sure that, given time, Abigail would blow him away.

After hanging up, Gregory jumped into a video conference, wrapped up some paperwork, and headed back to the room.

Abigail was still out cold, her cute face buried in the blanket, one cheek smushed in a way that made her look super adorable.

Gregory couldn't help himself and leaned down to kiss her rosy lips.

The warm touch sent a shiver through him.

But he didn't want to wake her, so he just gave her a few light kisses before pulling away and holding her as he drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Gregory drove Abigail to work. She was still half-asleep, her head nodding as if she was about to doze off any second.

If it weren't for the seatbelt, Gregory was sure she'd be slumping all over the place.

He sighed, seeing her head about to slip, and quickly reached out to support her face.

But he forgot his hand was cold, and as soon as their skin touched, Abigail's eyes flew open.

She rubbed her eyes and sleepily looked at Gregory. "Did I fall asleep just now?"

"Yeah, you were out like a light." Gregory kept his eyes on the road but glanced at her. Seeing her cheeks all rosy, he felt a rush of affection.

If they weren't driving, he would've leaned over and kissed that tempting cheek.

Abigail had no idea how cute she looked, lazily leaning back in the seat.

She cupped her cheeks with her hands, glared at Gregory shyly, and snapped, "You're the sleepy one! Your whole family must love naps too!"

Her reaction made Gregory chuckle. "Yep, we all enjoy a good nap like little piggies."

Abigail, slow on the uptake, finally realized what he meant.

Didn't that include her?

Now even more annoyed, she turned her face away and looked out the window.

Watching her pout, Gregory found it hilarious.

He reached out and gently poked her arm. "Are you mad?"

Abigail didn't respond, just shook her arm to avoid his touch.

Gregory's eyes sparkled with amusement, and he sighed. "I was gonna tell you some good news, but it seems like you don't want to hear it, so never mind."

Hearing this, Abigail's curiosity was piqued. But she was stubborn and reluctantly turned her head, raising her chin proudly. "What good news?"

Her sassy attitude made Gregory find her even more adorable.

He wanted to kiss her!

Gregory cleared his throat, reined in his thoughts, and said, "The fashion company has drafted the contract. We can sign it officially tomorrow. Feel free to bring your team for a look around."

"Really?" Abigail's eyes lit up, and she immediately forgot all her petty grievances.

What DM needed most right now was a solid partnership. If she could lock in a deal with White Group, she believed she could bring DM back to its former glory within three years.
