Chapter 375 Calling the Parents
"Are you really the new president of DM?" someone asked skeptically.
Abigail nodded slightly. "There's plenty of information about me online. Just look it up."
Upon hearing this, several people quickly checked their phones and found photos of Abigail at DM's events. Young and striking in a black suit, her flawless, rosy complexion was unforgettable.
Everyone stared at the photos for a long time, falling silent and gradually looking more and more sheepish.
Mireille couldn't stand their cowardice and felt a surge of frustration. "Where's your arrogance? So what if she's the president of DM? What's the big deal? Nowadays, anyone with money can start a company! Who knows if she got someone to help her behind the scenes?"
Tricia suddenly laughed.
She thought, 'Some people are truly shameless. Is it really that hard to admit someone is better than you?'
"Mireille, if you called me here just to belittle me in front of everyone, then I'm leaving." Abigail's face turned slightly cold as she took Tricia's hand and started to leave.
Mireille panicked and shouted, "Stop!"
Recalling why she had invited Abigail, Mireille signaled her friends to step in, but they avoided her gaze and hesitated to act.
Mireille's face flushed with anger as she realized that these jerks, who had been so eager when she was paying the bill, had already forgotten!
Unbelievable!
Mireille took a deep breath and strode over to block Abigail. "Did I say you could leave?"
If they wouldn't help her, she'd do it herself!
Abigail lifted her eyelids and glanced at her lazily. "Is there something else, Mireille?"
Mireille crossed her arms and looked Abigail up and down with disdain. "If you have any sense, you'd go back to Aramore and never come back!"
Abigail responded calmly, "And if I don't have any sense and don't want to leave?"
"You!"
How could someone be so shameless?
Did she think the Worthington family's money was so easy to take?
"Abigail, if you dare to take my place in the Worthington family, I won't let you get away with it. You know, Aerilon is the Worthington family's territory. If I want to crush you, it's as easy as crushing an ant!" Mireille raised her chin slightly, looking proud.
As if the person in front of her was nothing more than an insignificant insect.
Abigail stared at her for a moment and couldn't help but laugh. "You should save that line for Grandpa and Dad. If they agree, I have no objections!"
Mireille's chest heaved with anger. "Are you deliberately provoking me? They are just temporarily fooled by you. Just wait, one day they'll see your true colors!"
Abigail nodded. "Alright, I'll wait."
Before coming here, Mireille had pictured Abigail begging for mercy and leaving Aerilon in disgrace. But Abigail's lack of reaction felt like punching a pillow, trapping Mireille's anger in her chest.
Mireille couldn't help but scream and stomp her foot, calling out, "Everyone, get in here!"
At her command, a group of well-trained bodyguards in black rushed in, surrounding Abigail and Tricia.
"If you're so shameless, don't fault me for liking this!" Mireille narrowed her eyes, a dangerous glint in them.
She never meant to go this far, but Abigail pushed her. She had only planned to gather her friends and show Abigail that a small-town girl like her didn't belong in the Worthington family.
Who could have guessed Abigail was the president of DM? And to make matters worse, the outfit Mireille adored was designed by Abigail, making it a huge humiliation for her.
Abigail looked at the tall men in front of her without saying a word.
Tricia tugged at Abigail's sleeve, whispering nervously, "Abigail, what do we do? Can we get out of here today?"
"What are you afraid of? Henry is outside. Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you."
As she finished speaking, Mireille burst into laughter. "You can't even protect yourself, and you want to worry about others? Abigail, I advise you to be sensible, or else..."
"Or else what?" Before Mireille could finish, a deep, commanding voice came from outside the door.
As the familiar voice filled the room, tension spiked. Mireille shivered, her pupils contracting in fear. She was stunned. "Uncle? What are you doing here?"
She quickly looked at Abigail, who was standing with her arms crossed, watching her as if waiting for her to be reprimanded.
Mireille felt a mix of shock and anger.
She thought, 'What the hell, Abigail! Why bring your father into our conflict!'
Abigail raised an eyebrow at her. Didn't she say she had no one to help her in Aerilon?
Her biggest helper was Caius!
Why should she endure being bullied?
Mireille nervously swallowed and took two steps back, terrified. "Uncle, let me explain."
Caius looked at her coldly, his voice icy. "Alright, explain to me who you were planning to teach a lesson to."
Facing his cold gaze, Mireille shivered violently. "I wasn't. I just wanted to scare Abigail, not actually hurt her!"
As soon as Abigail appeared, she took away Mireille's identity and status in the Worthington family!
If Abigail were Caius's biological daughter, she could accept it since she'd be a Worthington by blood. But Abigail was just adopted, with no blood relation. How could she see her as an equal?
Caius didn't care about any of that. He only knew his daughter was being bullied.
"I'll inform Cassian about this. How he deals with you is up to him."
If Cassian couldn't teach her a lesson, Caius wouldn't mind doing it himself.
