Chapter 376 Thanks, Dad
Caius finished speaking and directly pulled Abigail out of the private room.
Tricia made a face at Mireille with righteous indignation and quickly followed.
Weren't Mireille acting all high and mighty just now?
She thought Mireille was really something!
It turned out she just knew how to use some despicable tricks!
After the group left, Mireille's legs went weak, and she suddenly collapsed to the ground.
Caius's imposing presence terrified her arrogant friends, nearly stopping their breaths in fear of punishment. Though no longer leading the Worthington family, his aura remained overwhelming.
A single glance from him left people breathless, especially the noble ladies who only knew how to indulge.
Someone whispered, "Did we offend Mr. Worthington?"
The response was an eerie silence.
Then, all their phones started ringing one after another. Seeing the caller ID, they all had a bad premonition.
"You get back here! What stupid thing did you do outside? The Worthington family canceled their cooperation with us and said they won't work with us for the next three years."
This sentence was like a bolt from the blue, leaving everyone stunned.
They visibly panicked and looked to Mireille for help. "Mireille, what should we do? You have to help us! We only targeted Abigail because you told us to!"
Mireille was in a daze, unable to snap out of it for a long time.
Sh ethought, 'What to do? What should I do now? Offending Caius, Cassian would definitely punish me severely!'
On the other side, Tricia and Abigail followed behind Caius. Tricia whispered in Abigail's ear, "Abigail, I think your dad was super cool just now!"
How could there be such a charming man?
Abigail secretly glared at her, putting a fair finger to her lips. "Dad is angry."
"Huh? Really? I couldn't tell." Tricia stared at Caius's straight back, scratching her head in confusion.
Abigail sighed silently in her heart. How could she guess? Of course, it was because Gregory acted the same way when he was sulking!
She gave Tricia a look and then quickened her pace to walk beside Caius. "Dad? Are you angry?"
"No." The man's deep voice was as cold as ever.
"Really? Then why are you ignoring me?" Abigail pouted, her clear eyes shimmering with a watery light, looking pitiful as if she had suffered a great grievance.
Caius paused slightly, suddenly remembering the information he had investigated. Abigail had never experienced fatherly love before.
Sensing danger, she swiftly messaged him for help, a significant move. Knowing he was her first thought, Caius couldn't remain angry.
He sighed silently in his heart, lowered his eyes to look at Abigail, and asked, "Do you know what you did wrong?"
As long as she admitted her mistake, he could forgive her.
However, Abigail blinked in confusion. "What did I do wrong?"
Facing her innocent eyes, all of Caius's reprimands got stuck in his throat. "If you encounter something like this again, don't put yourself in danger like this, understand?"
Abigail stared at him, suddenly enlightened. "Dad, are you worried about me?"
Caius fell silent.
Was that what he meant?
"I'm talking about serious matters. Did you remember what I said?"
"Yes! I remember. Thank you, Dad."
After spending time together, she saw that beneath Caius's stern exterior, he was truly gentle.
Caius's anger dissipated completely at her calling him "Dad."
"Alright, be careful next time."
"Okay!" Abigail responded with a clear and sweet voice.
Caius continued walking forward, his back to Abigail, and couldn't help but smile a little.
Abigail secretly made a victory gesture to Tricia and high-fived her.
She thought, 'Yes! Crisis averted!'
At this moment, Caius suddenly stopped and looked back. "Aren't you coming?"
"Coming!" Abigail quickly pulled Tricia to catch up.
Outside the club, Henry was anxiously waiting, glancing inside from time to time. Seeing Abigail and the others come out, he hurriedly asked, "How was it? Were you bullied?"
Tricia glared at him. "You said it yourself, we can't count on you at critical moments. Didn't you say that if we didn't come out, you'd rush in to save us? And what happened? We still had to rely on Abigail's father!"
Henry protested his innocence, explaining, "It's not that I didn't want to go in; Uncle Caius wouldn't let me!"
Henry wanted to join them, but Caius, firm and authoritative, told him to wait outside, so he obeyed without question.
Hearing his explanation, Tricia secretly breathed a sigh of relief. "So that's how it is. I misunderstood you!"
She thought Henry's previous confession was just casual talk.
While Tricia was thinking about how to make up for it, Henry suddenly leaned in and whispered, "Since you misunderstood me, shouldn't there be some compensation?"
Tricia asked, "What do you want?"
Henry chuckled. "It would be more sincere if you thought of it yourself. If I say it, there won't be any surprise."
Tricia rested her chin in her hand, deep in thought. "That's true. Give me some time; I need to think about it."
What should she give?
Henry originally thought she wouldn't agree, but to his surprise, there was an unexpected joy.
So, Henry was secretly smiling all the way.
After returning home, he couldn't wait to show off to Gregory and Quinn. "Do you know? Tricia offered to prepare a surprise for me!"
Gregory and Quinn exchanged a glance, then tacitly looked away and took a step back, not wanting to admit that this silly, happy person was their good friend.
Abigail and Tricia walked in hand in hand, followed by a stern-faced Caius.
Gregory glanced at him and immediately had a bad feeling, worriedly asking, "Did something happen on your outing? Did Mireille give you a hard time?"
"Not really, but Mireille does have quite a temper. Dad already taught them a lesson."
Gregory looked at Caius. "Thank you, Dad."
