Chapter 97 Begging for Fulfillment

At the White family's White Manor, Grace was relaxing with some snacks when Andy knocked and entered.

"Mrs. Grace, Roman's back," Andy reported.

Grace barely reacted. "Anything else?"

Andy hesitated. "He brought Jessica with him."

Grace looked surprised, then sneered. "I thought he'd take my warning seriously. Didn't expect him to bring her home."

Andy couldn't read her thoughts. "Do you want to see them?" he asked.

"No, send them away. And remind Roman not to forget what I said."

Andy nodded and headed downstairs.

Downstairs, Roman and Jessica sat nervously on the living room sofa, waiting for Mrs. Grace.

Roman had acted confident in front of Jessica, but he was actually pretty nervous.

Grace had recently threatened to cut ties if he insisted on marrying Jessica, but Roman thought she was just angry.

He was Grace's only grandson. If she cut him off, who would run the White Group?

He'd heard Gregory couldn't have kids, so they'd still need him in the end.

The more he thought about it, the more he believed Grace wouldn't really kick him out.

Soon, Andy came downstairs.

Roman quickly asked, "What did Grandmother say?"

Andy kept a professional smile. "Mrs. Grace doesn't want to see anyone today. You should take Jessica and leave."

Roman's heart sank. "Impossible! Grandmother loves me the most. Did you even tell her I was back?"

Andy stayed expressionless. "If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do. Also, Mrs. Grace asked me to remind you not to forget what she said."

Roman stood there, stunned. 'Grace is serious.'

No, he refused to believe it!

He was Grace's grandson. She wouldn't abandon him for someone like Abigail.

Roman gritted his teeth, grabbed Jessica's hand, and headed upstairs.

Andy tried to stop him. "Roman, Mrs. Grace is resting. She's not in good health; you shouldn't disturb her!"

Roman thundered, "Get out of my way. I need to ask Grandmother if it's really wrong to love someone and want to marry them."

Roman was too angry to listen and insisted on going up.

Jessica looked at Andy, her voice soft but mocking. "You're just a servant. How dare you stop Roman? I think you're getting old and confused. You should retire early."

"I am a servant, but whether I get dismissed isn't for an outsider like you to decide." Andy had been the butler for the White family for years and had seen many people like Jessica.

He wasn't angry; he found it amusing.

Jessica's face turned red with anger, and she couldn't find the words to respond.

"You..." Roman frowned, about to step in when a commanding voice came from upstairs.

"You're not even married into the White family yet, and you already want to meddle in its affairs?"

Roman and Jessica were surprised and instinctively looked upstairs, where they saw Grace slowly walking out.

Jessica's face went pale. "Grace, I was just speaking casually. I didn't mean anything by it."

Grace snorted, her sharp eyes piercing through Jessica.

Feeling scared, Jessica quickly pulled out a gift. "Grace, I bought these supplements for you. You must take care of your health, or Roman and I will be worried."

Grace glanced at the gift box briefly before looking away indifferently. She raised an eyebrow. "Are you worried about me, or are you cursing me?"

Jessica's heart skipped a beat. "No, that's not what I meant. I hope you stay healthy and live a long life."

Grace sat on the sofa, ignoring Jessica, and looked at Roman. "Didn't I tell you I wouldn't allow Jessica to marry into the White family?"

Roman lowered his head guiltily. "Grandmother, I truly love Jessica. Please give us your blessing."

Grace reprimanded, "And who will restore the White family's reputation? People are saying we've produced a traitor!"

Roman lowered his head even more.

The more prominent the family, the more they cared about their reputation.

The White family, the wealthiest in Aramore, was always under scrutiny.

Even a small mistake could drag the entire family down.

Roman had not only broken his engagement with Abigail, bringing disgrace to the family, but now he wanted to marry Jessica.

Jessica couldn't stand it anymore and retorted, "Roman and I truly love each other. If anyone's to blame, it's Abigail for not being smart enough. If she had broken off the engagement earlier, there wouldn't be any trouble."

If Abigail had broken off the engagement earlier, Jessica would have already married into the White family smoothly.

But now, Abigail had married into the White family first to get back at her and Roman.

Jessica hated Abigail deeply!

Grace sneered, "So you two are the innocent ones? Can I also say that if you hadn't seduced Roman in the first place, none of this would have happened?"

Jessica stammered, unable to come up with a retort.

Seducing Roman was indeed her doing, but she didn't think she was wrong.

This was what Abigail owed her!

Abigail had been the Martin family's eldest daughter since birth and could openly call David "Dad."

Jessica though had to fight for everything she wanted!

Roman was hers because she had fought for him!

Grace was about to say something when they heard Elaine's angry voice from outside.

"Jessica, who allowed you to come to the White family? Are you determined to ruin Roman's reputation? Get out!"
