Chapter 259 A Kiss

A wave of itchiness came over her, and Abigail laughed as she dodged backward. "Gregory, stop it, this is the office!"

Gregory held her, nodding seriously. "Alright, don't worry, this is my private space. No one will come in without my permission."

"Still, it's not okay!" said Abigail.

In her mind, the office was a place for work.

Just thinking about doing something intimate in such a serious place made her heart race uncontrollably.

Her entire face blushed with shyness. "No, please."

Gregory's eyes darkened, but he let her go, tidying up her disheveled clothes before standing up.

Abigail quietly breathed a sigh of relief, but the heat on her face lingered.

Even without a mirror, she could tell how red her cheeks were at that moment.

Seeing this, Gregory couldn't help but chuckle softly. "Very cute."

Abigail's face was as red as a ripe peach, exuding an enticing fragrance, as if inviting someone to take a bite.

But considering Abigail's shyness, Gregory ultimately did nothing.

"Alright, I won't tease you anymore. Are you hungry? Let's go out to eat," he asked.

Abigail covered her flushed face and nodded lightly.

Now that he mentioned it, she did feel a bit hungry.

Gregory chuckled as he took her hand and left the office.

While eating, Gregory suddenly looked up and asked casually, "Did Roman come to see you today?"

Abigail's hand paused slightly, a trace of surprise flashing in her eyes. "How did you know?"

Gregory smiled without saying a word.

It was easy for him to find out anything he wanted to know.

Abigail clearly realized this too and sighed helplessly. "I really can't hide anything from you. Roman came to see me today to plead for Jessica."

Gregory nodded lightly, seemingly unfazed by the revelation. "What did you tell him?"

Abigail snorted softly, raising her chin proudly. "Of course, I didn't agree. You went to great lengths just to vent your anger. If I agreed easily, wouldn't that undermine your authority?"

Gregory was taken aback, then burst into laughter. "Yes, then I must thank you for being so considerate of me."

Under the light, Gregory's handsome face seemed to be bathed in a soft glow, deep and gentle, making one's heart flutter.

Abigail's face turned red, a bit shy. "No need to thank me, it's what I should do."

The two exchanged smiles and continued their meal.

Remembering something, Gregory added, "I've already notified the police that no one can get Jessica out without my consent."

Roman had always been afraid of Gregory, so he naturally didn't dare to confront him directly.

The only person who could change Gregory's mind was Abigail.

Abigail's eyes curved into a smile, her heart feeling like it was soaked in honey, sweet and warm.

"Mr. White, you're so kind," said Abigail.

Gregory's thin lips curved slightly as he leaned his cheek closer. "A kiss?"

Abigail's cheeks turned even redder, and she instinctively backed away. "No, there are so many people around."

Although the restaurant was quiet, it was mealtime, and almost every table was occupied.

Gregory leaned in a bit closer, determined not to give up without a kiss. "Don't worry, no one will notice us."

Abigail looked around and, seeing that no one was paying attention to them, quickly leaned in and kissed Gregory on the cheek.

She quickly pulled back, covering her pounding heart, not daring to look around.

Satisfied with Abigail's kiss, Gregory sat back down, smiling throughout the rest of the meal.

On the other side, Kayla lay weakly on the hotel bed, almost completely uncovered.

Her well-maintained, smooth skin was now covered in bruises.

She looked at the man lying on top of her, holding a belt, a flash of fear in her eyes.

"Mr. Lockhart, please, no more."

Mr. Lockhart looked down at Kayla with a satisfied smile.

Indeed, married women were more experienced than those inexperienced girls.

Although their skin and bodies couldn't compare to young girls, they were much more experienced.

Kayla, in particular, knew how to make a man feel good.

As a result, Mr. Lockhart was very satisfied with this encounter. "No wonder David likes you so much. I finally understand his joy."

Kayla hid her disgust, reaching out her slender arms to wrap around the man's neck, acting coquettishly. "Mr. Lockhart, how about what you promised me?"

Mr. Lockhart looked troubled. "It's not that I don't want to help you, but this matter is really difficult."

Kayla was taken aback. "What do you mean by that? Are you saying you won't help me?"

Mr. Lockhart didn't want to lose Kayla just yet, so he coaxed, "Don't worry, I didn't say I wouldn't help. It's just not the right time yet."

Kayla snorted coldly, turning her back to him, pretending to be angry. "I think you just don't want to help. Poor Jessica, so pure and kind, how can she endure being locked up in that cold police station?"

Mr. Lockhart's eyes shifted, and a wicked smile appeared on his lips.

He reached out with his rough hand to hold Kayla's shoulder, leaning in to kiss her. "Who said I don't want to help? Just wait, I'll call the police station right now and have them release Jessica."

David probably never imagined that his beloved Jessica would end up in his hands.

He had heard that Jessica was very beautiful, but he wondered what kind of feeling she would bring.

The more Mr. Lockhart thought about it, the more excited he became.

He immediately called the police station, trying to use his connections to get Jessica released.

A usually respectful officer coldly refused, "Sorry, Mr. Lockhart, Jessica is charged with hiring a hitman. The case is still under investigation, and we can't release her."

Mr. Lockhart's face darkened upon hearing this. "Hiring a hitman? It was just a childish fight, and no one died in the end, right?"

The officer's voice grew colder. "No one died? The driver involved is still in the ICU, and the injured include Mrs. White, the wife of the White Group's CEO. Are you sure you want to get involved?"

Mr. Lockhart's eyelid twitched violently upon hearing this.

Kayla, seeing him hang up the phone, quickly asked, "How did it go? Did they agree to release her?"

Before she could finish her sentence, a slap landed hard on her face.

Kayla's face was turned to the side, and she looked up in disbelief.

She was met with Mr. Lockhart's furious, twisted face.

"Bitch, didn't you say no one died? How dare you lie to me! Gregory is involved in this, and you want me to go against Gregory?"
