Chapter 246 Abigail Is Awesome
The contestants, though already exhausted, did not want to continue the competition.
However, some of them still held onto a glimmer of hope.
What if Abigail really cheated? A rematch would expose her completely.
The design competition explicitly stated that plagiarism and cheating were strictly prohibited. Anyone caught would be disqualified and banned from competing for three years.
Such a temptation was undoubtedly immense for those who wanted to win.
After much deliberation, they agreed.
Only Olivia turned pale upon learning about the rematch. "I don't agree! Why should we all bear the consequences of your mistake?"
Abigail narrowed her eyes slightly, her cold voice carrying a hint of indifference. "I'm the victim here, aren't I?"
Olivia said, "Don't change the subject. We just finished a round and are already physically and mentally exhausted. We're not in the best condition right now."
Abigail said, "I'm equally exhausted, and I drew two design drafts in the same amount of time. If anyone should be more tired, it should be me, right?"
Olivia pouted and insisted, "Anyway, I don't agree. If you want a rematch, do it yourself!"
Abigail chuckled and said, "You accuse me of cheating but won't allow me to prove my innocence? It seems the authority of this design competition is just so-so."
The judges' faces changed upon hearing this.
They knew very well that if there was no rematch, the public would think they were ganging up on a young woman.
That would be detrimental to their reputation.
Realizing this, the judges became even more determined.
They said, "Olivia, please follow our competition rules. Abigail's request is within reasonable bounds."
The design competition rules stated that if a contestant had doubts about the results and got permission from more than three judges, a rematch could be held.
So, the judges came up with a new topic and asked everyone to complete their work within an hour.
Unexpectedly, Abigail put down her pen with 30 minutes left on the clock.
Everyone looked at Abigail in shock.
They found it hard to believe—had she given up or finished? Was that even possible?
After putting down her pen, Abigail propped her chin with her hand and looked toward the audience.
In the audience, Gregory's eyes were fixed on her.
Their eyes met, and Gregory's thin lips curved into a faint smile. He gave her a thumbs-up and mouthed, "Abigail, you're amazing."
Abigail understood his lip-reading, and her delicate eyebrows curved into a smile.
She also thought she was amazing.
After a long half-hour wait, the competition finally ended.
Staff members collected all the drafts and handed them to the judges.
Many contestants showed regretful expressions after the competition ended.
The time was too short; they hadn't finished.
In the audience, the judges flipped through the design drafts, selecting a dozen that were only half-completed.
They looked at those drafts and shook their heads helplessly.
When they saw Abigail's draft, they were stunned again.
All the judges were absolutely certain that this competition was added last minute, with no possibility of cheating.
So, did Abigail really complete her work in half an hour? And did she do it so excellently?
She must be a genius!
Thomas, holding Abigail's work, was so excited that his hands trembled slightly.
He snorted at Louis. "Now do you believe that Abigail truly has talent?"
Louis stared intently at the design draft, muttering, "Impossible, how is this possible?"
He had always considered himself the top in the industry.
Many people begged him to design clothes, and he didn't always agree because he felt he had the right to be capricious.
But now, Louis only felt his face burning with shame.
Circe, seeing his expression, added, "Mr. Anderson, it seems you can be wrong too. The designer you favored didn't perform as well this time."
Louis looked at Olivia's work, his expression turning even darker.
Although Olivia's work was completed, it was clearly not outstanding.
Because she had previously studied jewelry design, she unconsciously incorporated many of her habits into the design draft.
So, the overall look seemed a bit odd.
The judges looked at that design draft and shook their heads in disappointment.
This piece of work was too bad. Hard to believe this was the same person who had just designed the previous work.
Louis heard the comments about Olivia and turned pale.
He clenched his fists tightly, glaring at Olivia with disappointment.
How could she mess things up? It was simply foolish!
Olivia noticed Louis's gaze, shrank her shoulders, and avoided eye contact, lowering her head.
At the same time, she cursed Abigail in her heart.
If it weren't for Abigail insisting on a rematch, she would have been the champion of this competition!
Now, the only thing she could do was minimize her presence.
If her actions were exposed, her reputation would be completely ruined.
At this moment, Abigail suddenly spoke, "Judges, have you reached a conclusion?"
Louis glanced at Abigail, his face even more sullen.
Circe smiled and said, "Ms. Martin, your work is outstanding. I like it very much. You are undoubtedly the champion of this competition."
As Circe said this, her eyes were full of admiration for Abigail.
She had initially believed the rumors, thinking that Abigail, a delicate and inexperienced girl, couldn't have made it this far on her own.
She even thought that Abigail's success was due to Gregory.
But now, she had completely changed her view of Abigail.
Although Abigail looked delicate on the outside, she had immense inner strength.
From Abigail, she saw a kind of stubbornness that didn't easily compromise.
How could such a person only rely on a man?
Abigail smiled faintly upon hearing this.
The spotlight focused on her, casting a soft glow around her, making her look holy and pure.
She was truly beautiful. The audience below held their breath instinctively at this sight.
Gregory also stared at Abigail, his deep eyes filled with undisguised pride and tenderness.
Abigail was becoming more and more outstanding.
She shone like the brightest star in the night sky, dazzling and radiant, making it impossible to look away.
