Chapter 358 Absolutely Not Allowing Michelle to Meet David Again

After leaving the ward, Abigail asked nervously, "Mom, isn't the gift from Grandpa too expensive? Maybe I shouldn't accept it. I have my own money, and Gregory also bought a new house."

Michelle smiled and patted her head, saying, "Since he gave it to you, just accept it. The Worthington family has plenty of houses; they won't miss this one. Besides, my daughter is so charming. If Grandpa gave you a gift, it means he likes you."

"Really?" Abigail's eyes sparkled with a crystalline light, making people's hearts soften.

Michelle nodded. "Yes, it's true."

Hearing Michelle say this, Abigail couldn't refuse anymore and smiled. "Alright then, thank you, Mom, and thank you, Grandpa."

Michelle and Abigail exchanged a smile, growing even closer.

Behind them, Caius frowned slightly when he heard Abigail not mention his name and gave a light cough.

However, Abigail didn't understand his hint at all and tilted her head. "Dad, do you have a cold? Remember to take your medicine."

Caius's lips twitched. Was he really that unappreciated? Everyone else got thanked, but he was ignored. The more he thought about it, the more dejected he felt. On the way home, his face remained gloomy, exuding a cold and oppressive aura.

Abigail leaned her head on Michelle's shoulder, drowsy, but suddenly felt a chill and couldn't help but shiver.

Seeing this, Michelle quickly said, "Caius, turn up the air conditioning; Abigail is asleep."

Since Michelle had spoken, how could Caius not listen?

Suppressing his anger, he turned up the air conditioning and drove more steadily.

In the car following behind, the three men remained silent, the atmosphere completely stagnant.

After a long while, Henry mocked. "You two seem to have been staring at Abigail for a long time. It's only been a short while since you parted; is it necessary?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Gregory and Quinn's icy stares shot over.

"What did you say?"

Henry was startled and held his breath. "I didn't say anything!"

Henry regretted provoking Gregory and Quinn. Even after a short separation, they seemed increasingly despondent, which was unbearable.

He sighed, missing Tricia. Did she miss him too? Probably not—her heart belonged to another man.

As the car neared Quinn's villa, Henry glanced out the window and was stunned. Tricia? Why was she here? Was he hallucinating? He rubbed his eyes, but she was still there.

Before Quinn even parked, Henry unbuckled his seatbelt and rushed out.

Abigail was also surprised. "Tricia, you got here so quickly?"

Tricia dropped her luggage and ran over to hug Abigail. "Abigail, I missed you so much!"

"I missed you too!"

Abigail patted Tricia's back and led her to Michelle. "Mom, this is my best friend, Tricia."

Michelle's lips curved into a gentle smile. "Hello, Tricia. Thank you for taking care of Abigail."

Tricia's eyes widened in shock as she stared at Michelle. The resemblance was uncanny—Abigail and Michelle looked like mirror images of each other.

Despite the fragility in Michelle's eyes, she took good care of herself. Standing next to Abigail, they appeared more like sisters than mother and daughter.

Noticing Tricia's daze, Abigail waved a hand in front of her face.

"How about it? Do my mom and I look alike?"

Tricia snapped back to reality, momentarily speechless at Abigail's "I didn't lie to you" expression.

They looked exactly alike.

"Hello, Aunt Michelle. I'm Abigail's best friend. Nice to meet you," Tricia greeted with a smile.

Michelle's lips curved into a gentle smile. Seeing Tricia with luggage, she quickly invited her in.

That evening, she and Caius stayed for dinner. After dinner, Abigail said to her, "Mom, I plan to go back in a few days."

Michelle was slightly stunned. "Why so suddenly?"

Abigail's eyes were full of reluctance, but she steeled herself. "I have a lot of work at the company, and Gregory is also very busy. We've already delayed many days."

The main purpose of this trip to Aerilon was to confirm if Mrs. Worthington was her mother.

Now that she had confirmed it and knew her mother was happy, that was enough for her.

But Michelle was very reluctant.

She had finally gotten a daughter, someone to talk to, so why did she have to leave so soon?

"Abigail, I can't bear to see you go."

Originally, Abigail didn't dare to show too much affection, fearing Michelle wouldn't like it, but hearing this, her eyes instantly reddened.

She threw herself into Michelle's arms, sobbing and snuggling against her shoulder, her voice soft and coquettish like a spoiled cat.

"Mom, I can't bear to leave you either."

Michelle tenderly patted her head and gently coaxed, "It's okay. If it comes to it, your dad and I can visit you later."

As soon as she said this, Caius and Abigail both looked up sharply and said in unison, "No way!"

Their reaction was too unusual, and Michelle looked at them in confusion. "Why not?"

Abigail and Caius exchanged a glance.

Caius's eyelid twitched violently.

"Michelle, your body is too weak for long trips, and suddenly going to another city might not be good for you."

He had kept it a secret for so many years; everyone thought Michelle was dead.

If she suddenly returned to Aramore, wouldn't everything be exposed?

Besides, David was still in Aramore, and he absolutely couldn't allow Michelle to meet David again!
