Chapter 344 So Adorable That You Want to Ruffle Her Hair

"Orson? Are you Orson?"

Abigail looked at Orson in surprise, momentarily at a loss for words.

The youngest Worthingtons were Orson, Bruce, Mireille, and Quinn. Orson, Emrys's son, was the eldest. Bruce and Mireille, Cassian's children, were a boy and a girl. Quinn, Caius's illegitimate child, was unacknowledged by the family, except for Darwin, who treated him kindly. As a result, Quinn preferred living in Aramore.

Abigail never expected to encounter a Worthington on a casual outing.

Orson raised an eyebrow, a gentle smile on his face. "What, you know me?"

Abigail's eyes flickered, and she shook her head with a smile. "I've just heard of you. You're a famous member of the Worthington family. Who wouldn't know you?"

Hearing this, a hint of mockery flashed in Orson's eyes. If he had a choice, he wouldn't be a Worthington.

"By the way, I haven't asked your name yet. What's your name? Can we be friends?"

Seeing that he meant no harm, Abigail smiled and nodded. "My name is Abigail."

Orson was momentarily dazzled by her gentle smile, and his expression became serious. "You look a lot like someone I know. She was very beautiful, just like you."

Abigail felt a bit embarrassed by the unexpected compliment. "Thank you. Is she someone you like?"

Orson shook his head with a smile. "No, she's my elder."

A flash of insight hit Abigail, and her heartbeat quickened.

Was it the person she was thinking of?

Almost losing her composure, Abigail asked urgently, "Can you tell me what she's like? Or where she is?"

Orson didn't expect such a strong reaction from her, a hint of surprise in his eyes. "Sorry, I don't know where she is either."

The whereabouts of Caius and his wife had always been a mystery.

Otherwise, with the personalities of Orson's parents and Cassian's couple, Caius would have been riddled with assassination attempts by now.

Abigail lowered her head in disappointment, her hopes shattered bit by bit. "I understand."

Still no way to see Michelle?

Seeing her so downcast, Orson felt a bit guilty and thought for a moment. "Since we seem to get along well, I'll tell you something."

"What?" Abigail looked up, blinking expectantly.

"Darwin is turning eighty soon, and they want to liven things up with a party."

Abigail's eyes widened slightly in confusion. "Isn't his health very poor? Can he handle it?"

Orson sneered, a flash of mockery in his eyes. "Who knows? But Uncle Caius and his wife will definitely attend. I can take you in."

Abigail looked at Orson with mixed feelings and asked, "Aren't you afraid I'm deceiving you?"

Orson was taken aback at first, then burst into laughter. "Do you really think I'd bring just anyone home?"

Abigail's silence spoke volumes. Wasn't that the case?

Orson found Abigail increasingly amusing, feeling an urge to ruffle her hair.

"Don't worry, I'm not that stupid. I just saw how much you wanted to meet Caius's wife and thought I'd let you have a look."

Abigail gave him a grateful look but didn't agree immediately. "I'll think about it and get back to you."

"Alright."

They exchanged contact information, and Abigail said goodbye and left the art exhibition.

Orson watched her leave, chuckling softly.

After returning home, Abigail immediately told Gregory and the others about the Worthington family's plan to host a party in three days.

The three of them looked grim.

Gregory asked, "You went out today?"

Facing their serious expressions, Abigail suddenly felt a bit guilty.

"I was just bored at home and wanted to go for a walk."

Quinn bluntly exposed her. "A walk that just happened to take you near the hospital where we live?"

Abigail blinked guiltily and explained softly, "I'm sorry. I was just too bored and wanted to do something. Otherwise, I felt uneasy. But there were bodyguards at the hospital, so I couldn't get in."

Gregory pulled her into his arms, feeling sorry for her. "We're not blaming you. We're just afraid you'll encounter danger when we're not around. So next time you go out, make sure to take us with you, okay?"

"Okay, I know!" Abigail nodded emphatically.

Gregory's tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed, and he smiled, lowering his head to kiss her forehead. "Good girl."

Quinn glanced at them and said, "I also received a notification just now. In three days, at the Worthington Manor, they're hosting Darwin's eightieth birthday."

Abigail's eyes lit up with expectation, clearly saying, "I want to go!"

Quinn sighed helplessly, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I'll have someone prepare the dresses. You can come along."

This day was bound to come sooner or later.

At Worthington Manor, Orson headed straight to Marlowe's room.

"Mom, can I have an invitation to the birthday party?"

Marlowe looked puzzled. "What do you need an invitation for? You never cared about these things before."

"I made a friend and want to bring her over." Thinking of Abigail's cute appearance, Orson's lips curved up.

Marlowe sensed something unusual about Orson and asked, "Orson, be honest. Do you have a girlfriend?"

Orson laughed. "Mom, what are you thinking? We're just friends."

Hearing this, Marlowe felt a bit disappointed and also a bit angry.

The outside world said Orson was simple-minded and obsessed with art, but in her view, he was too naive. He wouldn't even know if he was being deceived.

It was really worrisome.

After getting the invitation, Orson was about to leave but was stopped by Marlowe.

"There will probably be a lot happening at this party. Cassian is planning something. Be careful."

"Mom, I know." Orson lowered his eyes, hiding his emotions.

Marlowe said angrily, "Why don't you ever fight for anything? All you do is paint. Can painting compare to real wealth?"

Orson pressed his lips together, saying nothing.

Marlowe continued, "I think Cassian wants to take this opportunity to get the inheritance and company shares from Mr. Darwin Worthington. We must not let them succeed!"

The Worthington family belongs to Emrys; no one can take it away. She needed to talk to Darwin. If Cassian swayed him to hand over the inheritance, Emrys would get nothing.
