Chapter 237 Something on the Lips
Gregory chuckled softly, his chest vibrating with joy, the sound reaching Abigail's ears.
Abigail blushed again, unable to control herself.
Just as she was about to say something, she heard Gregory continue, "I'll pick you up after work."
Without giving her any chance to refuse, Gregory turned and went back into the fitting room.
This time, he thoughtfully closed the door.
Abigail remained silent.
After changing clothes, Gregory drove Abigail to the DM Building.
Just as Abigail was about to get out of the car, a slender, strong hand grasped her wrist.
She turned her head in confusion, only to see Gregory staring at her intently, without saying a word.
Abigail instantly understood his meaning.
She smiled helplessly, leaned in, and gave Gregory a light kiss on the lips. "Mr. White, see you tonight."
Feeling the soft, sweet touch on his lips, the gloom in Gregory's eyes instantly vanished.
Abigail found it quite amusing and waved at Gregory. "Goodbye, Mr. White."
"Alright," Gregory responded reservedly. He didn't start the engine until Abigail's figure disappeared, then he headed to the White Group.
The timing was perfect; Gregory went straight into the conference room for a meeting.
Throughout the meeting, everyone seemed distracted, frequently glancing in Gregory's direction.
It was hard for Gregory not to notice.
He frowned slightly, his face darkening. "What? Do you all feel like you don't have enough work and want more?"
Hearing this, everyone in the conference room quickly averted their gaze, waving their hands. "No, we wouldn't dare!"
They quickly lowered their heads, not daring to look around anymore.
What a joke, they already had more than enough work. Any more would be exhausting!
Gregory snorted coldly, about to continue the meeting when Leo lowered his voice and reminded him, "Mr. White, there's something on your lips."
Gregory was taken aback and wiped his lips with his fingertip, instantly smearing a bright lipstick color.
He paused, the image of Abigail kissing him slowly surfacing in his mind, and couldn't help but smile.
The gloomy and eerie aura vanished instantly, replaced by a smile as warm as a spring breeze.
This sudden change shocked everyone present.
'What happened to Mr. White? Why is he smiling so strangely?'
As they were lost in their thoughts, Gregory suddenly looked up, his gaze sweeping over them.
"Continue," said Gregory.
No one dared to say more and quickly resumed the meeting.
But this time, they clearly felt that Mr. White's aura was not as oppressive as before.
Even when someone made a mistake, Mr. White didn't lose his temper. Instead, he said very gently, "Be careful next time."
To them, this was simply unbelievable!
For a moment, everyone silently cheered in their hearts: Long live Mrs. White!
They hoped Mrs. White would kiss Mr. White a few more times.
That way, their days would be a bit easier!
After the meeting, Abigail, who was frantically editing a manuscript in her office, suddenly felt a tickle in her nose and sneezed.
'Who is talking about me? Could it be Gregory?' Abigail thought.
After all, to strangers, Mr. White appeared aloof and ascetic. But to Abigail, Mr. White was undoubtedly the clingy type—someone who couldn't be apart from her all day long!
Although she outwardly complained, Abigail couldn't help but feel a bit sweet inside.
She opened her phone and sent Gregory a message: [Time to eat!]
In the conference room of the White Group, the finance department was reporting the quarterly statements when suddenly the sound of a text message was heard.
Instantly, the entire conference room fell silent.
Everyone's eyes involuntarily turned to Gregory's phone, subconsciously holding their breath.
Gregory glanced at them, then picked up his phone.
Thinking it was some trivial message, Gregory didn't pay much attention.
But when he saw the content on the screen, his gaze froze. He stared at the message for a long time, his dark eyes filled with an undeniable longing.
'Abigail is concerned about me,' Gregory thought.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, Gregory cleared his throat and said cheerfully, "Let's eat first, we'll continue in the afternoon!"
Hearing this, everyone couldn't help but cheer.
'Long live Mrs. White!'
They were already starving.
They realized that Gregory only let them off the hook when he was in a good mood. And the only way to improve Gregory's mood was Abigail.
Many silently prayed that Mrs. White's messages would come more often.
That way, Mr. White's temper would be more restrained and their lives would be a bit easier.
Gregory left the conference room with his phone, went to the window at the end of the hallway, and called Abigail.
The call was quickly answered, and a clear, pleasant voice came from the other end, "Mr. White, good afternoon!"
"Have you eaten, Abigail?" Gregory's voice was gentle, his deep, ocean-like eyes full of tenderness.
The cold aura around him had completely dissipated.
On the other end, Abigail smiled and replied, "I have, Mr. White. This afternoon, I'm going shopping with Tricia, so you don't need to pick me up."
As soon as she said this, Abigail inexplicably felt a chill coming through the phone. She shivered slightly and asked with a suppressed laugh, "Mr. White, are you angry?"
"No," Gregory replied.
Although he said no, his voice was low, clearly showing he was bothered.
Abigail chuckled lightly and explained, "Tricia is not in a good mood, I have to go see her, or I won't be at ease."
Gregory pursed his lips. "Come back early tonight, don't sleep over at her place."
Last time she stayed at Tricia's, he didn't sleep all night. The feeling of being alone in an empty room was something he never wanted to experience again.
Hearing Gregory's words, Abigail felt a wave of sweetness. She nodded and agreed, "Okay, come pick me up when it's over."
After hanging up, Abigail focused on her documents, but a smile lingered on her lips.
When Susan brought in some files, she couldn't help but tease, "Ms. Martin, what made you so happy?"
Abigail snapped out of her thoughts and asked blankly, "Is it that obvious?"
Susan nodded vigorously. "Super obvious, your smile is almost overflowing."
Abigail touched her cheeks, and sure enough, her lips were curved upwards.
She didn't know when it started, but every time she talked to Gregory on the phone, her mood would unconsciously become cheerful.
Even if they hadn't seen each other for half a day, she would miss him terribly.
As if it had been a century since they last met.
Susan handed over the files, wearing a knowing expression. "Ms. Martin, don't feel shy. I was just like you when I was in the honeymoon phase!"
'Honeymoon phase.' Abigail lowered her eyes, repeating the words over and over in her mind.
She had never realized it before, but unknowingly, her feelings for Gregory had grown so deep.
