Chapter 92 Better Than Your Husband?
Abigail felt a bit nervous under Gregory's intense gaze. She quickly looked away and tugged at Gregory. "Mr. White, let's go."
She didn't want to deal with Roman and Jessica anymore.
Gregory noticed her hand on his wrist and couldn't help but smile. He shot a cold glance at Roman and Jessica, then let Abigail lead him away.
After walking a bit, Abigail stopped and asked, "Mr. White, why are you at our school?"
Gregory smiled and ruffled her hair. "Take a guess."
Abigail shook her head. "I can't guess. Just tell me!"
Gregory just said she'd find out in the afternoon.
Abigail felt a bit helpless.
Tricia, who hadn't said a word, was watching Abigail and Gregory closely. She thought Gregory didn't seem like a bad guy.
Gregory asked, "Were you going to eat?"
Abigail nodded. "We were heading to the cafeteria, but Roman and the others held us up. There's probably no food left."
Gregory checked his watch. "I'll take you out to eat and bring you back after."
Abigail hesitated, but Tricia quickly agreed. "That's great, thank you, Mr. White."
Abigail looked at her, confused.
Tricia winked and whispered, "Aren't you curious about his feelings for you? I'll help you figure it out during the meal."
Under Tricia's expectant gaze, Abigail slowly nodded.
Gregory drove them to a fancy restaurant about 3 miles from the school.
The place was upscale, clearly for the wealthy.
It was Tricia's first time there, and she took photos with her phone.
After the meal, Gregory drove them back.
Tricia leaned on Abigail's shoulder and sighed. "I don't know why the school suddenly decided to hold a seminar. I'd rather go home and sleep."
Gregory paused for a moment but then continued driving.
Abigail laughed. "Everyone's talking about it. They say a big business mogul is coming."
"How big? Bigger than your husband?" Tricia said, uninterested.
Abigail glanced at Gregory, who was driving, and saw him looking at her through the rearview mirror. Her heart raced, and she quickly looked away.
When they arrived at Aramore University, Gregory, who had been silent, suddenly called out. "Abigail."
She turned around, confused. "Mr. White? Is something else?"
Gregory hesitated before saying, "Let's talk after the seminar."
Abigail pressed her lips together and nodded. "Okay."
She knew they really needed to talk. The atmosphere between her and Gregory was too strange, and she didn't like it. Though she often retreated in relationships, she wasn't one to bottle up her feelings. Maybe it was time to clear the air.
Gregory watched Abigail walk away, his eyes deep and unreadable.
Meanwhile, Abigail and Tricia found seats in the classroom.
Everyone was buzzing about who the guest speaker might be.
Usually, the school would announce the speaker in advance, but this time it was a mystery.
When Jessica and Roman walked in, they immediately spotted Abigail and Tricia.
Still fuming from their earlier encounter, their expressions darkened.
Jessica, especially, had been trying to flaunt her relationship with Roman ever since he broke off his engagement with Abigail. She wanted everyone to know Abigail had been harshly dumped and that Roman was now devoted to her.
But Gregory's appearance had ruined her plans. Even Roman had been humiliated by Abigail. It was infuriating!
Still seething, Jessica dragged Roman to sit behind Abigail, glaring daggers at her.
Feeling the hostile stare, Abigail turned around and met Jessica's eyes.
Jessica hadn't expected her to turn so suddenly and was caught off guard. Her malicious expression froze, and she forced a smile. "Sister, you're here for the seminar too?"
Abigail didn't call her out, just smiled faintly. "The whole department is here. Why wouldn't I be?"
Jessica had no response and lowered her head.
Just then, footsteps echoed at the door, and the classroom buzzed with excitement.
Everyone gasped, eyes fixed on the front in shock.
The principal walked in first, pointing to the well-dressed, handsome man beside him. "Let me introduce today's speaker, the president of the White Group, Gregory White."
The room erupted in whispers.
Had they heard that right? Gregory White? The one who revived the White Group and created countless legends?
And he was so young and handsome!
Abigail's eyes widened in astonishment.
Tricia was incredulous. "So the speaker today is your husband? Why didn't he mention it before?"
Abigail blinked, confused, then shook her head.
No wonder Gregory had been so secretive when she asked why he was at the school. He'd been waiting for this moment.
On stage, Gregory cleared his throat and introduced himself.
"Hello everyone, I am Gregory White, president of the White Group."
His deep, charming voice resonated like a melodious cello, captivating everyone.
Many girls in the classroom looked at him with admiration.
That voice was just too captivating.
