Chapter 336 You're Just Jealous That I Have a Wife
"Hello, Mrs. White!" The chefs greeted Abigail in unison.
Their voices were so loud and synchronized that they could be heard even in the hallway outside the ward.
Abigail rubbed her forehead helplessly and looked at Gregory with a questioning gaze. "What are you doing?"
Gregory replied, "You said you couldn't eat anything, so I had the chefs from a high-end restaurant prepare some food suitable for pregnant women and bring it over."
Before instructing the chefs, he had specifically consulted the doctor about dietary precautions for pregnant women.
The food prepared by the chefs was absolutely healthy.
Looking at Gregory's serious demeanor, Abigail couldn't help but feel both amused. "Aren't you afraid of becoming the headline news the day after tomorrow with such a big fuss?" she asked.
Although Gregory wasn't a public figure, many journalists were always keeping an eye on him.
With such a high-profile move today, he had probably already been photographed.
Gregory nonchalantly replied, "As long as I don't want it, no one dares to expose it."
The PR team of the White Group wasn't idle.
It seemed to make sense. Abigail smiled and shook her head, signaling for the food to be brought over.
Even though she still didn't have much of an appetite, she didn't want to let Gregory's efforts go to waste, and she also wanted to ensure the baby inside her got enough nutrition.
Fortunately, the chefs Gregory chose were all top-notch, and the food they prepared suited her taste.
Looking at the seven or eight dishes on the table, Abigail quickly pulled Gregory to sit down. "You've been busy for so long, you must be starving. Sit down and eat with me."
"Okay." Seeing Abigail care for him, Gregory couldn't help but smile as he picked up the utensils and started eating.
After the meal, Abigail lifted the blanket, wanting to get out of bed and walk around. Seeing this, Gregory quickly stopped her. "You're so weak, you should stay in bed and rest!"
Abigail pouted, feeling aggrieved. "I've been lying down for days, honey, let me walk around a bit!"
"No way, what if you get hurt?" Gregory had already started treating Abigail like a precious doll. He would strongly oppose anything that might harm her.
Abigail felt both helpless and amused. She waved her hands in front of him and even lifted her hospital gown to show him her muscles. "I'm not as weak as you think. Look, I have muscles."
Gregory stared at Abigail's slender arm, which he could easily wrap his hand around, and pursed his lips without saying a word.
His meaning was clear.
Abigail fell silent. She glared at him, not wanting to talk to him anymore.
Seeing that Abigail was angry, Gregory awkwardly touched his nose and softly coaxed, "I'm just worried about you. What would I do if something happened to you? You don't know how scared I was when I heard you were in trouble. Abigail, you promised me you'd take good care of yourself and not get hurt again."
Gregory's deep voice carried a hint of barely noticeable grievance and tremor.
Abigail's heart trembled as she slowly turned to face Gregory, saying, "I'll just walk around the room, okay? If I lie down any longer, I'll really feel awful!"
As soon as she finished speaking, a cool finger pressed against her lips, stopping her from saying more. "Don't say that, youwill be fine from now on," he said.
Abigail playfully blinked and nodded gently. "I know."
Seeing Abigail's obedient and soft demeanor, Gregory's heart softened.
He reached out and gently rubbed Abigail's delicate cheek, making a concession. "You can only walk around the ward, don't overdo it. Rest immediately if you feel tired, okay?"
"Okay!" Abigail's eyes lit up, and she quickly agreed.
So, Abigail walked in front, and Gregory followed closely behind, not leaving her side.
His hands hovered protectively behind her, afraid she might stumble and fall.
The way he cherished and protected her was almost unbearable to watch.
When Henry and Quinn entered, they saw this exact scene.
"You have become so gentle and considerate. A few months ago, I wouldn't have believed you had this side to you," Henry said.
Gregory didn't mind at all. "You're just jealous that I have a wife and you don't."
Henry and Quinn fell silent.
Quinn cleared his throat and walked up to Abigail, his usually cold and sharp eyes showing a hint of barely noticeable warmth. "How are you feeling?" he asked.
Abigail smiled, "I'm almost fully recovered. It wasn't that serious to begin with; Gregory insisted I stay in the hospital."
Quinn pursed his lips and said, "He's worried about you. Staying a few more days for observation won't hurt."
Abigail pouted her rosy lips in dissatisfaction. "I think you're all in cahoots. You're his friend, of course, you'd take his side."
Seeing her sad expression, Quinn quickly said, "I'm worried about you that..."
Halfway through his sentence, everyone's eyes turned to him. Gregory narrowed his eyes slightly, a warning look in his eyes.
Henry quickly rushed over, covering Quinn's mouth and awkwardly added, "He means that if you got hurt, we'd all be very worried."
Abigail looked at them suspiciously, feeling like they were hiding something from her.
Seeing Abigail's confused look, Gregory quickly changed the subject. "Are you tired? Let me help you back to bed to rest."
Abigail nodded and, with Gregory's help, lay back down on the bed.
Once Abigail was asleep, Gregory's gentle demeanor vanished, replaced by a cold, stern expression as he said to the two, "Come outside."
Henry and Quinn exchanged glances and followed him out.
Outside the ward, Gregory's sharp, eagle-like gaze shot over, carrying a hint of menace. "Didn't we agree not to reveal anything in front of Abigail? What if something happens? Can you take responsibility?"
Quinn, knowing he was in the wrong, pursed his lips and said nothing.
He was just too concerned about Abigail's health and accidentally let it slip; it wasn't intentional.
Henry stepped in to mediate, smiling, "Quinn just misspoke. Nothing happened, right? Gregory, you're being overly nervous."
Gregory said, "Overly nervous? You all agreed that we'd wait until Abigail fully recovered before telling her about that matter."
Just then, the door to the ward behind them suddenly opened from the inside. Abigail stood at the door, looking at them with a confused expression.
"What were you talking about just now? What do you mean by waiting until I'm better to tell me? Are you hiding something from me?" she asked.
