Chapter 262 The Child

Leo was immediately choked by his own saliva and started coughing violently. "Mrs. White, please don't say that. I was just speaking off the cuff!"

Abigail remained silent, thinking, 'If I haven't seen your ears turn red, I might have believed you!'

"What's there to be afraid to admit? She might not even be interested in you. But I have to remind you, Lily has a lot of suitors. If you don't seize the opportunity, you'll regret it later!" Abigail said.

Leo didn't expect that coming over to help out would make him the target of teasing, and his face turned red. "Mrs. White, please stop teasing me."

Abigail said, "Alright, I won't say any more. If you help me solve this problem, I'll have Mr. White give you a raise."

Leo's eyes lit up instantly.

He had been waiting for this raise for so long; was it finally going to happen?

Leo stared at the lines of code on the computer screen, his eyes burning as if he saw countless dollar bills waving at him.

So, he worked even harder.

Recovering the deleted video was a bit tricky, but what should have taken an hour, he completed in half an hour.

It just went to show, human potential was limitless.

When Gregory walked in, he happened to see Abigail looking at Leo with admiration and respect.

Gregory remained silent.

Leo was basking in the joy of Abigail's praise when a sudden chill ran down his back.

The chill traveled up his spine and directly to his brain, making him shiver.

Sensing something, he instinctively turned his head to look behind him, only to see Gregory staring at him with cold, sharp eyes.

Leo shivered again, feeling inexplicably guilty.

"Mr. White?" He called out tentatively.

Gregory glanced at him indifferently, then quickly shifted his gaze to Abigail, asking, "Are you still busy?"

Seeing him come in, a faint smile appeared on Abigail's face. She said, "Mr. White, you're here?"

"Yes, how's everything going?" Gregory asked softly, holding Abigail's hand.

"The surveillance video is almost restored. As for Susan, we should just call the police," Abigail said.

Susan not only betrayed her trust but also wasted all the efforts of the design department employees.

This matter could not be forgiven!

Gregory frowned in disagreement. "Just call the police? That's too lenient for her."

Abigail looked at him in surprise. "Mr. White, do you have any suggestions?"

Gregory pondered for a moment, then whispered a few words into Abigail's ear.

Abigail's eyes widened in hesitation. "Is that really okay?"

"What's wrong with it? Let them handle it themselves. You don't need to do anything, just watch," Gregory said.

'Daring to harm Abigail, not making her disappear from Aramore is already considered lenient,' Gregory thought.

Abigail thought for a moment and nodded lightly. "Yes, you're right. If we handle this too lightly, Susan won't truly learn her lesson."

After returning from the hotel, Kayla lay in bed all day.

Her legs were weak, her waist was sore, and the slightest touch of her bruises made her gasp in pain.

Even though she had sacrificed her dignity and been humiliated, she still hadn't managed to rescue Jessica.

Thinking of Mr. Lockhart's despicable face, Kayla gritted her teeth, wishing she could tear him to pieces.

Just then, her phone suddenly vibrated.

She picked it up and glanced at it, her pupils suddenly constricting, eyes full of disbelief.

An email from an unknown account contained intimate photos of David with another woman.

There were not only photos of them hugging outside but also some private bedroom photos.

She could recognize David's face even if it turned to ashes.

As for the woman, she remembered her too; it was David's former secretary, Susan.

This woman was young, beautiful, and had a gentle personality, appearing very approachable.

Every time she went to DM, Susan would take care of her meticulously, never making a single mistake.

She originally didn't like having women around David, but she was afraid that being too aggressive would annoy him.

She never expected David to be with Susan all along!

How despicable!

Kayla mustered the courage to continue reading.

When she saw that David had given Susan a luxurious villa, she couldn't hold back her expression any longer.

She clenched her fists and pounded the bed, cursing, "David, you bastard!"

She had been with David for over twenty years and ended up with nothing.

Yet he turned around and gave another woman a villa!

But there was something even more shocking.

Kayla stared intently at the pregnancy test report, almost burning with rage.

Unable to suppress her anger any longer, she jumped out of bed and rushed to DM.

She wanted Susan to understand the consequences of coveting Kayla's man!

Half an hour later, Kayla, in high heels, quickly walked into DM Group.

The receptionist immediately recognized her and hurriedly stopped her. "Mrs. Kayla Martin, you don't have an appointment; you can't enter freely."

Kayla, already furious, became even more enraged when stopped.

She shouted, "Get out of my way, or don't blame me for being rude!"

The receptionist was startled, her face turning pale as she stepped back two paces.

Kayla took the opportunity to push her aside and went straight into the elevator.

The commotion attracted the attention of many employees, who curiously peeked out.

"What just happened? Did I see Mrs. Kayla Martin?"

"You didn't see wrong; it was indeed Mrs. Kayla Martin! But I wonder what she's here for!"

"Could she be here to cause trouble for Ms. Martin? I heard that Jessica from the Martin family was taken to the police station a few days ago."

When the elevator doors opened, Kayla stormed out.

Susan, holding some documents, was about to knock on Abigail's office door when she heard urgent, sharp footsteps behind her.

The next second, her hair was yanked back forcefully.

A tearing pain shot through her scalp, making her feel like her hair was being ripped out.

Her body uncontrollably fell backward, crashing into Kayla.

Kayla sneered and cursed, "You husband-stealing woman, I finally caught you!"

Hearing the familiar voice, Susan's pupils contracted, and she quickly turned her head.

Seeing Kayla's angry, sharp face, her eyes flickered with guilt. "Mrs. Kayla Martin? What are you doing here? Is there some misunderstanding?"

"Misunderstanding? Are you saying you've never seduced my husband? And the child in your belly isn't David's?" Kayla demanded.
