Chapter 475 It Really Is Quite Sweet

In the car, Abigail looked out the window in the direction where Caius had disappeared and couldn't help but frown. "I feel like Caius is hiding something from us."

Ever since boarding the plane, Caius had been acting strange. Whenever Abigail tried to talk to him, he seemed distracted, lost in his own thoughts.

Gregory wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her into his embrace, and smiled helplessly. "He's a grown man. Do you really need to worry about him? Relax, he knows what he's doing."

Abigail's frown didn't ease a bit. "But this time feels different. It just seems odd."

Gregory glanced down at her, gently smoothing her furrowed brow with his thumb, and reassured her with a smile, "Alright, stop worrying. In Aramore, no one will mess with him."

That made sense.

Abigail felt a bit relieved and finally stopped thinking about it.

Arriving at Maple Residence, Gregory got out first and extended his hand. Hesitating for a moment, Abigail then smiled and placed her hand in his, letting him help her out.

Gregory looked down and smiled, gripping her hand a bit tighter. "Let's go. After such a long journey, we deserve a good treat."

Abigail's eyes lit up, looking at him eagerly. "Can we have barbecue?"

Gregory answered, "No way."

Loving barbecue and spicy food, which could cause heatiness, Abigail had to be extra careful with her diet when she became pregnant.

Seeing Gregory refuse her, Abigail's face fell instantly. "I haven't had barbecue in so long. I really want some, darling."

Clutching the hem of Gregory's suit with her slender fingers, Abigail looked up at him with pitiful, expectant eyes. It was especially endearing.

Gregory pinched the bridge of his nose. Abigail always had a way of making him unsure of what to do. Her little pout made him want to give in immediately, and he almost lost his reason.

But in the end, he steeled himself and refused, "Not now. The chef has already prepared dinner, and we can't waste food. Besides, you have a prenatal checkup in a couple of days, so you can't eat too much greasy food."

Abigail's lips curved into a smile, and she nodded. "Alright."

So, she couldn't eat now because of the checkup, but that meant she could after the checkup, right?

Thinking about soon being able to eat the barbecue she had been craving, Abigail's mood brightened, and she couldn't stop smiling. "Let's invite Dad and Mom, and Quinn, Henry, and Tricia too. The more, the merrier."

Being a neat freak who didn't like sharing utensils, Quinn always had separate ones prepared for him at barbecues.

Watching Abigail's cheerful back, Gregory shook his head with a smile and followed her inside.

After dinner, Abigail and Gregory each called their assistants, asking them to bring over the accumulated documents from the past few days.

Having been swamped with work ever since Abigail and Gregory went to Aerilon, Leo and Lily were more than happy to oblige. Not having seen each other in a long time, they ran into each other at the villa's entrance when they arrived at Maple Residence.

After getting out of the car, Leo saw Lily poking her head out of her car, waving at him.

The setting sun cast a glow on her slightly chubby face, making her look especially delicate and beautiful.

Leo felt his heart race and quickly walked over.

As soon as Lily got out of the car, she was enveloped in a warm embrace.

Her cheeks turned red instantly, and she tried to struggle, but the hug tightened. Leo buried his face in her neck, nuzzling gently, and whispered, "Don't move. Let me hold you for a bit. It's been so long since we last saw each other."

Lily's cheeks turned even redder, and she shyly bit her lip. "Let go quickly. So many people are watching. Don't forget why we're here."

Reluctantly, Leo let her go and held her hand as they walked inside.

Although the villa staff were familiar with them, they couldn't help but smile knowingly at the scene.

Lily, even more embarrassed, quickened her pace inside.

The two of them went in together and briefed Gregory and Abigail on the recent work.

The entire afternoon was spent in busyness, and it wasn't until late at night that they finished.

Considering how hard Leo and Lily had been working recently, Abigail felt a bit guilty and decided. "You both can have a day off tomorrow. Get some rest."

Their eyes lit up, and they thanked her with smiles. "Thank you."

Abigail winked at them, hinting. "Alright, you can go now. Maybe go out for a date tonight, make it romantic."

Lily blushed and glanced at Leo, who happened to be looking at her. "Yeah, we should definitely go on a date."

Watching the two leave all lovey-dovey, Abigail couldn't help but sigh. "Young couples in love are so sweet."

Just as she finished speaking, a shadow loomed over her. Abigail looked up to see Gregory's smiling eyes.

He asked, "Aren't we sweet?"

Abigail wrapped her arms around Gregory's neck, tilted her head up, and gave him a light peck on the lips, savoring it. "Yeah, pretty sweet."

Gregory grabbed Abigail's slender waist and lifted her off the couch.

Abigail let out a surprised yelp, clinging tightly to Gregory's neck. By the time she realized what was happening, she was already sitting on Gregory's lap.
