Chapter 32 Memories of Last Night
At ten o'clock in the evening, the car finally returned to Maple Residence.
Abigail was on the verge of falling asleep, her little head hanging down as if she would collapse the next second. Gregory looked at her and found it slightly amusing.
"Abigail, we're home."
Abigail suddenly opened her eyes and embarrassedly scratched her head. "Ah, I almost fell asleep just now."
A smile appeared in Gregory's eyes. "Hmm, you were sleeping soundly just now."
Abigail blushed and instinctively whispered, "No, I wasn't asleep!"
She was just too tired to control herself.
"Well, I misspoke. You weren't asleep," Gregory said with a smile as he got out of the car.
As soon as Ralph heard the noise, he came out to greet them.
The lights in the villa were still on, but the servants had already returned to another villa to rest, leaving only Ralph here.
Abigail got out of the car and greeted Ralph with a smile.
Ralph glanced at Gregory, wanting to say something, but hesitated.
Abigail yawned and didn't notice his strange expression at all.
Gregory glanced at him casually and then said to Abigail, "Abigail, you go upstairs first. I still have some work to do."
"Alright, Gregory, Ralph, goodnight."
She was so tired that she couldn't keep her eyes open. After saying goodbye to them, she went straight upstairs.
Gregory kept staring at her back until it disappeared, then he withdrew his gaze.
"What happened?"
Ralph immediately said, "I have followed your instructions and frozen Mr. Roman White's card. He called me several times tonight, but I managed to make excuses."
Gregory nodded slightly, "Hmm, well done. Anything else?"
Ralph glanced at Gregory's expression and continued, "And it's about Ms. Parker."
Gregory frowned, "Who?"
Why didn't he have any impression of her?
"You forgot? She is Ms. Elaine White's niece, Olivia Parker."
Ralph sighed. Gregory really only had Abigail in mind; he was not interested in remembering other women's names.
If only Gregory knew a little about the gossip in the upper-class circle, he wouldn't be so indifferent.
Because Olivia, relying on being Elaine's niece, often boasted in front of others about how different Gregory treated her.
Now, the outside world was spreading that Olivia is Gregory's chosen fiancée.
Gregory was not interested in other women's affairs; he didn't want to hear what Ralph had to say.
"Oh, okay, I'll go upstairs first. Get some rest, Ralph."
Although he was already married to Abigail, he still had a long way to go before he could win her heart.
He had yet to figure out his wife, so he didn't have the energy to pay attention to other women.
Watching his departing figure, Ralph shook his head gently.
Olivia was not easy to deal with, and she was very fond of Gregory.
If Olivia found out about Gregory's marriage, no one could predict what she might do.
Gregory went upstairs and entered the bedroom.
The lights were still on in the room, and there was a small lump on the large bed.
Gregory's footsteps slowed down immediately as he closed the door and walked towards the bed.
Abigail's eyes were tightly closed on the bed, but she was not asleep. She had heard the door opening, but she didn't open her eyes.
Although Gregory's care touched her for her, the thought of sleeping in the same bed with him tonight still made her feel a bit awkward.
So, in order to avoid the awkwardness, she could only pretend to be sleeping.
As Gregory's footsteps approached, Abigail's heart also became nervous, and her hands hidden under the covers clenched into small fists.
But she didn't know that her acting was too clumsy, and Gregory had seen through it with a single glance.
Looking at the small girl on the bed, her eyelashes trembling lightly but refusing to open her eyes, Gregory silently smiled.
However, instead of exposing her, he took his pajamas out of the wardrobe and went straight to the bathroom to shower.
Upon hearing the sound of the bathroom door closing, followed by the sound of running water, Abigail finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Without Gregory as a ticking time bomb, her tense nerves finally relaxed, and she quickly fell asleep.
When Gregory came out of the shower, she was already asleep.
She wrapped herself tightly in the blanket, only revealing a lovely little face.
Her cheeks were slightly flushed, her rosy lips occasionally pursed, her eyebrows relaxed, and her long eyelashes trembled slightly. She seemed to be having a sweet dream.
Gregory lifted the blanket and lay down by her side. He turned off the lights and prepared to go to sleep, but suddenly, Abigail turned over and snuggled into his arms.
He paused his breath, and his body slightly stiffened.
In her sleep, Abigail seemed a little uncomfortable. Her little head kept rubbing against Gregory's chest, trying to find the most comfortable position.
It was only when Gregory's body relaxed that she finally stopped moving and fell into a deep sleep.
Gregory lay on his side, feeling the soft body in his arms. Even his breathing unconsciously slowed down.
At this moment, he was extremely grateful that he had Leo send that text message to Abigail.
He had thought that he could restrain all his feelings of love, but when he truly held Abigail in his arms, he realized that he had been deceiving himself before.
He would never be so foolish as to entrust Abigail to someone else's care.
He thought to himself that perhaps no one in this world could love Abigail more than him.
Even if Abigail didn't love him, he would still tie her to his side and never let her go.
In the night, Gregory's eyes were tender and passionate, hiding an overwhelming affection that couldn't be disguised. It was like a burning flame that spread endlessly.
And Abigail, in her sleep, was completely unaware of all this.
Gregory had hardly slept a wink.
He was a healthy adult man with his beloved woman in his arms.
How could he not have any reaction? Especially when Abigail was not still in her sleep but often moved around in his embrace.
Her little face was pressed against his chest, her slender arms draped around his waist, seemingly absorbing warmth.
This tortured Gregory.
Although he was past the peak of his youth, he was still in his prime and couldn't resist her teasing.
Unfortunately, the girl in his arms was fast asleep, completely unaware of the torment he was going through.
He felt restless all over, with a dry mouth and a feeling of something surging in his chest as if a fire was running wild.
This was pure, sweet torture to him.
Throughout the night, he took several cold showers in the bathroom and only gradually fell asleep when morning came.
As soon as Abigail opened her eyes, she found Gregory still lying by her side.
He was breathing steadily, sleeping deeply without any signs of waking up.
Abigail had gone to her room early last night and had no idea when Gregory came back to his.
With the experience from yesterday, although she wasn't as surprised as yesterday morning, she couldn't help but feel a little shy because she found out that she was actually pressed tightly against Gregory's body!
Her arms were draped around his strong waist, their posture extremely intimate.
